With the idea of changing storage design, family obligations, and also sorting
legos; do people shutdown for a few days to work on things like sorting or storage
issues?

Steph

Delays of a few days are not uncommon. I wouldn't even bother to close my
store.

That being said, people often close their store for an extended period of time,
for a variety of reasons: inventory, sick, dead, vacation, etc.

I closed mine for a month because I died, I got better though.....

In Problem Order, BenBricks2017 writes:
I placed an order in May of this year and payed the day I got the invoice to
the bank account mentioned in the invoice mail.
I did not received the parts and after a two weeks I started to contact the seller
here on bricklink and by the mail adress he placed in his profile. But there
was no response whatsoever.
But 2 months after the buy I got an NON-Paying Buyer Alert from the seller via
bricklink. I really was upset and responded to the alert buy saying that I payed
everything and I could give them proof if they want. But nothing happened after
this.
I also contacted the buyer once again but still no responce.
So now I don't know, what to do anymore. I will not accept any penalty for
something I did not do. I would also report a Non-Shipping Seller Alert but thats
not possible because there is the NPB on this order.
Can anyone help me out? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks a lot!

But no - feedback?

If I file an NPB and the buyer comes back requesting to cancel, I will usually
agree to cancel. Usually such buyers are apologetic and sincere, so I don't
mind.

However, if the NPB has already been completed, then I will not agree to cancel,
and will let the NPB stand. In this case, the buyer has ignored several messages,
plus an NPB so I have no sympathies left.

If I agree to a cancellation request, I always suggest to the buyer that as no
actual transaction has taken place, no feedback should be left, and I tell them
I will leave no feedback of any kind, and ask them to do the same. So far this
has never failed.

Thankfully, there are very few NPB's.

Hmm OK sounds like it works, I have a spate atm, 4 not paid yet. Over a week.

I usually send a reminder 3 days after invoicing. NPB after 7 days. If I filed
the NPB and then they want to cancel after I have already tried to contact them
I would go throw with the process of the NPB so I can leave appropriate feedback.

Thanks for the reply, do you contact via both email and BL messenger or just
messenger?

The way we do it is break them into three color categories: yellow, light nougat,
everything else. Within those colors, we then break them down by stud type. Finally,
we separate duel from single.

There are certain tricks we use in the search to help narrow down when looking
for the specific head. If you don't know you can put a minus sign before
the search term to eliminate those items. For example: "dual" -"glasses"
will show only dual sided heads but remove any with glasses. "beard", "teeth",
"stubble", are some of the more common terms we use with and without the minus
sign to narrow down results.

I discovered the - trick today, helped a lot!!

Hello all,

Does anyone recognise these? I can't see anything in catalogue but they keep
popping up in most mixed bags of used LEGO I buy.

No ©️ marks or number ls that I can see.

It appears in set #41426 Heartlake City Park Café

The reason it's hard to find is that the stickers are separate from the window
pane piece, in the set inventory the window panes are just normal trans clear
ones

The sticker sheet can be found here, for reference: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=41426stk01

Would explain it, thank you. I guess they will just go in the non catalogued
pile for now.

Or you could make the effort and add them to the catalogue here: https://www.bricklink.com/wantedCatalog.asp?catType=P
and the image here: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogImageAdd.page?itemType=P

Ahh I didn't know I could do this!

In Feedback, gement writes:
I'm pretty new to Bricklink. My first order was flawless, and I see that
neutral feedback is very rare/unwanted; if sellers fix the issue, we give positive
feedback. Good so far.

My second order
- shipped nine days after payment (not a huge deal, I might note it in my feedback
text)
- has 2 completely missing lots and 5 miscounts (I can ask them for a refund
or to put them on a new order, that's a straightforward fix)
- quite a few parts were, by my standards, dirty.

-- A dozen or so had some surface material that I could scratch off
with a thumbnail (which I can understand them not catching as I ordered parts
with heavy playwear and discoloration).
-- One 2x8 brick had light hairy mold completely filling it, which
I assume is because a little food stayed in and then it was stored damp; it washed
out under running water without scrubbing, but gaaaah.
-- Many are just... grungy. Like if I run a fingernail between the
studs, the stuff that looks like grunge actually is grunge.

The seller has been very responsive. When I asked about their cleaning techniques
after telling them about the moldy brick, they immediately sent me a youtube
link to the bathtub and dish soap technique (with two hour soak) and said, "Unfortunately,
even that sometimes does not clean all LEGO bricks."

So... What's the community standard here? Is this actually an acceptable
level of cleanliness for used bricks? If it's not, what would "making it
right" mean? Discount on a next order?

I want to give the seller a chance at positive feedback if that's still a
thing, but honestly if I were just thinking in terms of telling other buyers
whether I had a good experience with this store, the positives and negatives
balance out to neutral. They were responsive, but that was a lot of miscounts
and I don't like worrying about whether I should wash my hands after touching
a brick. Dealing with this store was solidly meh. Thoughts?

Thoughts? Not good! Id be mortified if an order id sent out was picked up for
being dirty, as for mouldy!!

All my used bricks go through the washing machine, long wash at 40c before they
are even sorted then as I sort them any that are still manky get a good scrub
by hand. Any discolouration and damage is described to the best of my ability
in comments. If it really bad it gets put in the charity shop bag.

No excuse for dirty LEGO just laziness.

posted on a lego forum for help and someone was able to check their genuine purchased
set and confirm the hair is genuine lego and is the same with only the letter
2 inside. i would love to start a discussion identifying Genuine lego pieces
that may be misidentified as fake due to not being stamped with the word lego
anywhere.

That would be a very, very long discussion. Many parts don't have the logo,
including lots of older minifig headgear and accessories -- and some don't
even have the mold number, like old 4L bars and other small-and-skinny parts.
However, clone parts are almost invariably identifiable by the quality of the
plastic, the location of the pip, or the color shade. And fortunately, even marginally
passable clones of official parts are not nearly as common as less-experienced
collectors tend to think they are.

And if you're still not sure just post a photo here, someone will very quickly
give you an answer.
We are all very helpful

Hello all,

Hope we are all well

Does anyone else find sorting, cleaning, inventorying their stock or just big
bags of unloved LEGO cathartic?

Its my go to now when I'm in a bumpy place. My happy place so to speak.

Just wondered.....

Thanks but Arghhhh! I just found some TMB parts and they don't match, so
in this photo it's TLB on top TMB on bottom and the ones I thought were TMB

Trans-Medium Blue glows under a UV light, while Trans-Light Blue does not. Some
frosted parts do glow under a UV light, but they aren’t too common. If you want
to look at some other neat reactions to UV light, try putting Coral, Neon Yellow,
Trans-Bright Green, and Trans-Orange under a UV light!

Ah ok I got it the wrong way round :S

Yes. Transparent colors aren’t always the most consistent. You could also try
putting these studs under a UV light, as TMB is actually just another neon color
and will glow under said light.

Ahh I did not know that thank you, if only the children hadn't lost my UV
torch I bought for other neons...will have to purchase another.

Found this in a mixed batch. I've got a feeling it's from some unbranded
Transformers brick set looks like Transformers logo above face but wanted to
check before it went in the charity pile.

Anyone recognise? Can't find anything like this in catalogue.

Cup for scale.

  Hi,

I’m trying to find out an average price for assorted Bionicle parts. They don’t
belong to any particular sets, they’re just extras we bought our son over the
years and he’s ready to move them on. He’s bagged them up and they weigh about
750g per bag (rough estimate). The parts include some masks, joints and general
bits and pieces.

All of the bags are this size and contain roughly the same amount of pieces.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Like others have said it varies wildly. Masks do well and parts that get lost
easily, projectile discs etc.
One thing I would suggest is you double check ball joint sockets as these crack
very easily and it can be quite hard to spot.

Hi all,

Have these pickaxes and not sure if they are genuine, no LEGO logo {I know this
isn't unusual} but ones in catalogue have it just the number you can see,
17, 15 and 5 and there's no alternative also ends are rounded not flat. Colour
is bang on, Jack hammer is genuine and there to compare.
Thoughts?

For instance a C3PO.

I think it should be common sense to not do it like that.
No shipping in food boxes, no shipping in tobacco related boxes. Not as an inner
box, not as an outer box.
This to avoid allergic reactions, bad smell and hygienic problems.
The only thing to avoid this is probably to make a note with an order.
Good luck!

What is a food box though? If you use a store / shipping box that had 12 boxes
of 6 cereal bars inside, is it common sense not to use that?

Nope, that is not what tte OP and I meant, at least, not me.

I think he meant boxes that directly contained the substance, the (can I call
it shippingbox) outer box is a different thing but maybe not the case when you
have an extreme allergy.

Cereal bars are typically wrapped in plastic, so that is the direct packaging.
And that is probably the issue with using them and common sense. Different people
will have different assumptions as to what is contaminated.

Id never thought of this issue! Bad form on my part. I use card from cereal boxes
to make little envelopes for cloaks so they don't get screwed up in transit
{not that I sell a huge amount but now and again} . I shall resource my card,
and I thought I was being good for recycling.

Easy to reply: after all those washes, your LEGO parts will be disintegrated,
so, don't count on this.

An easiest way would be to reproduce and make your kid build the Set.

Wishing you... the best!

Ha ha this is true, the little ones are my unpaid sorters! Well they are paid
but in unwanted minifigs and chocolate.

Can anyone ID this for me, came in a bundle, 16x32. Thought it was 374 rounded
corners but apparently they don't come in tan.

Thanks in advance.

It looks more like this one to me:

Niek.

Yep. Definitely the Friends one.

The DUPLO one is 3 x 3 in DUPLO studs, so it is *much* larger.
