I sold and shipped an old classic Space set. The set was in good condition when
shipped. The buyer reports three problems:
1. One part is bent (hinge plate).
2. One plate 4 x 6 is broken (really: in two halfs!)
3. The one minifig in the set (classic space figure) has a cracked arm.
He asks to ship it back and get his money back.

I understand his frustration: a small'ish set with three defects is not good.
But I just didn't see the problems when shipping. Still my fault obviously,
but definitely not by intent.

I would rather suggest to send replacement parts:
1. Send a replacement part
2. Send a replacement part
3. Send a replacement arm (not the whole minifig)

Would you consider this a good solution?
If the buyer would persist in sending the set back, how would you handle it?

Thank you for your feedback.

When looking at 5135cx1 vs 5135c01, the description mentions different colors
for the wheels.
5135cx1 = Pearl Light Gray (PLG)
5135c01 = Light Bluish Gray (LBG)

The image in the catalog seems to show another difference: the button on the
top.
5135cx1 = transparant yellow button
5135c01 = solid green button

In a bulk lot, I found three of these locomotives, all in yellow.
The first is clearly 5135cx1, as the wheels are clearly Pearl Light Gray.
The button on top is trans yellow.
The second has wheels in Light Bluish Gray (100% sure, it's distinctive
when comparing with the first one) and has the trans yellow button.
The third has wheels in Light Bluish Gray (again easy to see when comparing
with the first one) and has the solid green button.

The problems here are:
1. It's unclear wether the button plays a differrence in catalog identification.
2. The item 5135c01 doesn't seem to exist in yellow. At least not in the
catalog, as there is no set reference that has this part in yellow.
I don't know how to list them correctly.

Picture of the second and third model below.

Who can help with some thoughts on this?

I am looking at the comparative image that can be found at item 18838 (which
is a variant of 6108 and 14707). I don't see the difference between 14707
and 6108, on that picture.
Who can help me?

I get regular questions from customers where the tracking information is. I did
supply it on the order, but clearly it's not visible enough.

Secondly, the "tracking no" is not sufficient. Better would be "tracking
link", so the seller can put the whole link in it, after which BrickLink
could show it on the order list and detail, for example with a clickable "tracking
icon", like a globe or small delivery truck.

Person buys for 8.09 euro in parts and 3.75 euro for shipping. Total amount of
11.84 euro paid with PayPal (Onsite). Order placed at 19:42.

Buyer messages me 40 minutes later "if it would be possible to cancel the
order and give a full refund."

I ask: "Can I ask for the reason?"

Buyer replies: "Money is a bit tight at the moment."

Ofcourse I will cancel with a full refund, but pretty odd situation...

As a buyer, it's very annoying having to fill baskets at several stores where
I of course keep track of prices, only to find out later the seller(s) charge
PayPal fees, packing fees, processing fees, ... It makes comparing between shops
as good as impossible.
At least the min. buy setting is announced up front (and I usually filter out
stores with a high min. buy). But these extra "fees" for whatever reason,
is done at the very last step of checkout or even only mentioned in the T&C.

I'm not advocating sellers should not be able to cover their costs, including
even packing costs, but these should be included in their "item prices"
on the one hand (PayPal % fee) and "shipping and handling costs" on the
other hand (packaging material, order processing fees, ...).
Sellers that really don't want to adjust prices or pay they PayPal fee, can
remove PayPal as valid payment method.

When instant checkout would be required for all stores (and I don't see why
not, seems like a logical evolution), the full cost of an order including all
fees the seller feels he should charge, is transparant to the buyer while he
is filling baskets. It's also more fair to sellers, as they are compared
with each other on equal grounds.

Sometimes - it's not always clear when - replying to an email from a BrickLink
user, has the email address blservice@bricklink.com in the addressee's field.
Sometimes the actual user's email address.

It's confusing, but until a thorough solution for messaging is implemented,
I would like the "blservice" is changed to "noreply" so it's
at lease a more visual give-away the email will not reach the user.

I changed my address for a purchase. As a result, my store needed re-verification.

After this happened, all my shipping methods were removed (for a reason that
is not clear for me). Is there a way my shpping methods can be restored, as manual
re-configuration is really cumbersome.

When a user contacts me (via messages), I receive an email from blservice@bricklink.com.
What happens to the reply I send via my email client?

I live near a country border and have an address in both countries where I can
collect parcels. Depending on the shipping costs, it's more economical to
ship to country A or country B.

The only way to have an order shipped to address A or address B, is to update
my address details on my profile. This used to work fine, albeit it's a bit
cumbersome.
Since some time (recently?), when I change my address on BrickLink, I must go
through the seller verification process again, even though I changed it only
from a buyer point of view. I wasn't meaning the change my official store
address.

So my suggestion/request is one of the following:

Option 1 - Allow any buyer to enter any shipping destination in the checkout
process, just like 99% of webshops allow to do so.

Option 2 - Each account should have a buyer and a seller address. Only when changing
the seller address, a new store verification is required.

Thanks for considering any of these options.

Hello,
I can't seem to find this brick (2x4) in the catalog. The underside has two
metal screws (but not cross x like Philips or Pozi, but more star type).
The studs have the Lego mark, but there is no partnumber to be found. (There
are some markings on the bottom, but it's not a typical partnumber)
Anybody recognizes this part?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm not sure on the topic to post this question. If there is a better Topic,
let me know.

I'm completing set

Set No: 8434 Name: Aircraft
*
8434-1 (Inv) Aircraft
445 Parts, 2004
Sets: Technic: Model: Airport
The part list on BrickLink list 2x

Part No: 2815 Name: Tire Technic Wedge Belt Wheel
*
2815 Tire Technic Wedge Belt Wheel
Parts: Wheel, Tire & Tread {Black}

When looking at the instructions, I can't find anywhere these parts are used.
These parts are also at the back of the Lego instructions book (part listing),
so I guess it's not an error in BrickLink.

Who knows where these 2 pieces are used?

Hi,
I have a buyer who has requested a quote for shipping a number of items, asking
for a very specific shipping option I offer.
I have instant checkout active in my store. I see no items in the quote that
have missing dimensions, so I wonder if the customer sees that option (I have
asked him, no reply yet) or why the specific shipping option would not be showing.

Is there a way to have the instant checkout rules applied to a quote? It would
make sense to have this option, as it's basically applying the exact same
logic as during checkout.
This way, I could verify if something might be wrong in my shipping methods configuration.

Thank you for your feedback, suggestions and tips!

Hi,
somebody bought item

Part No: 15265 Name: Technic Digger Bucket 15 x 23
*
15265 Technic Digger Bucket 15 x 23
Parts: Technic {Black}
Since there are only stud dimensions and no packing dimensions (in cm), the buyer
was able to select "Large letter". Large letter is configured as max
thickness of 3 cm, so no way this will fit.
How can I configure (easily) when a cart has item(s) that don't have packing
dimensions specified, the instant checkout is disabled?
I hope I don't have to look for all such items in my store and do a change,
but rather have some general setting somewhere?
Thanks for your help and suggestions,
Gaston

It happens the parts I want to buy don't meet minimum buy treshold. Sometimes
with a large gap, but usually with a small gap.
When trying to find some extra items to reach the treshold, it happens I go into
a next shipping band, making it more expensive for the second time.

My suggestion is really simple: add a "give-extra-money" (or "donation"
box to reach the min. buy treshold.
Let's say I have 3.75 USD in my cart and the min. buy is 5.00 USD. I just
fill in 1.25 USD in the "donation" box (a sort of a "special service
product" to reach min. buy treshold while still keeping the same weight
and dimensions of my order.

You could even think about linking the extra money to a charity. If the seller
would configure his shop saying he allows going under min. buy treshold when
the buyer pays the gap to charity (preferably managed by BrickLink, so the surplus
is automatically donated to charity).

I find it really annoying (as a buyer) to get confronted with stores having a
min. buy policy. I like a feature that lets me filter out stores having a min.
buy policy when looking at an item.

A few days ago, an order (I am the seller) returned.
It had a message from the postal office: "Person didn't come to pickup
in time."

The order didn't have tracking (it's a very low value order, where shipping
is actually more expensive as the contents...).

I guess I will give a full refund, as I always do when there is a problem. Still,
it feels a bit wrong I should cover for the shipping costs, as the service was
delivered but for some reason the buyer didn't collect it. What would you
do?
