It's basically modern vs "vintage". If you are new(er) to lego you probably
have the bluish versions.

It is currently in the process of being inventoried.

Question, sorry if the answer is obvious, I haven't been in every corner
of this site.
Is there a way to know what sets are in progress of being inventoried vs what
ones still need volunteers?

May I suggest to also add gram (beside ounce) to your shipping table for international
shipment. Makes it easier if you don't need to use google to get an overview
of the weights
|
Hahaha, that is a good suggestion. I forget that not everyone uses "freedom units"
Funny I've never thought of that because I've often had the same frustration
when buying from European sellers, but in reverse.

the vendors haven't got the "Request a Quote" provision set up.
Clearly it would save a lot of stuffing around if you know the full cost incl
P&H before hand.
Even better - there should be a little icon or something next to the vendors
name to indicate whether they send quotes or not so you don't have to go
through the checkouts to find out right at the end.
This is what I'm experiencing in Australia
|
I like this idea.
My store allows for quotes and very few people use it. (Except that one dude
in Korea that keeps asking for quotes and then cancelling, we are on three now
I think lol)
I do get lots of messages from buyers asking for quotes even though I have some
pretty direct shipping tables. So it's obvious they haven't even made
a cart yet.
So all in all I think the quote system is underused or misunderstood by buyers.

I had an issue with this set recently. Many of the bricks were brittle, thought
it was brown instead.
Brittle blue is usually from much older sets, but I think something weird happened
with that set.

hitting the reply-button in their mail client.

I agree with this. Sending photos through BL is the only thing I would need changed

How should I add this torso? Is it an alternate? Or is it already in the catalog

It's this one (with Lego logo on the back):

I've run into friends polybags that are the same way. I always try to keep
sets together for resale, but sometimes I'm shocked that its not worth it
for the tiny sets.
I also just finished a Ninjago set recently where the figure was rare-ish and
more than I wanted to pay and I found a seller who had parted a bunch of that
fig out and was able to buy him in pieces for far less than buying the assembled
fig. Its normally the reverse.

So there is either a person or an algorithim out there doing something.

Also for what it's worth I took many years to hit 30 ish FB. I was living

| Mentioned in other posts, I am submitting this as a separate suggestion.
The goal of the $1 payment is to preclude new members from making false orders
and thereby avoid time wasted on pulling order items, attaining packing supplies,
calculating shipping, etc.
Perhaps there is also a benefit with regard to new sellers. Not sure.
I recognize there will be process, payment, and accounting challenges for BrickLink
administrators, along with maybe an undesired initial action to become a member,
however this proposal would screen out false buyers, and benefit the integrity
and positive experiences of the entire new member, buyer, and seller community
-- which for my part is a key reason I'm here.
|
I have said it before, the best way to weed out undesirable buyers and sellers
is to require 10 positive feedbacks before they are allowed to sell or buy. It
sounds so simple.

| I've read about brittle blue being a period in time where the plastic turned
'weird' i suppose for whatever reason? However in my experience as a
seller, I fully believe it is a result of exposure to sunlight and such. Nothing
more. Blue, white, yellow and grey's turn all sorts of weird shades over
time. It's inevitable... I don't understand why we always talk about
brittle blue but not brittle yellow? If the part is not the right shade i'd
just throw it in the trash.
|
The term brittle blue is not just a discoloration. It is a bad quality plastic
that breaks easily. Other color bricks may discolor, but they don't just
break apart like the brittle blue pieces.
|
Is there a "brittle brown"? I was building a set from the early 2000's and
I had multiple pieces explode in my hand while building. I'd never seen anything
like it. Set looked in good condition otherwise.
