+1

Saw a post this morning where items with “like new” in comments were removed
by admin from a store.
Much easier to correct in advance if you can then having to re-list.

Could just be I can’t find the right torso but this appears to be 973pb1218c01
but with some of the print not applied.

Interested to hear others thoughts on this. Found in bulk Lego lot. Top of torso
is stamped Lego.

I am happy to sell parts and minifigures worldwide with small exceptions. For
sets though I am really not set-up to sell them worldwide I would prefer to only
sell in Canada. Is there a way to restrict them?

I’m trying to buy every Star Wars minifig ever and I am missing quite a few.
Normally bricklink doesn’t tell the shipping cost and I’m wondering what the
best way to buy Minifigs in bulk is. Any help would be appreciated.

It will take more work but I would suggest buying a bulk lot off of eBay.
There is a charity in Ontario that separates figures from bricks and then posts
them as bulk sales.
Normally they will sell about 5 pounds at a time. They even separate into themes.
Star Wars used to go for about $200 a pound. Now it has gone up a lot, so your
first purchase would likely be close to $1500.
Put the figures back together, keep the ones you don’t have, sell all the duplicates
and parts that don’t complete a figure. Take the money you earn back and buy
another lot and maybe a few of the rare figures off BL.
Continue to repeat and you will get there eventually with a much lower total
cost.

This method will take a lot of time and work to clean, sort, assemble, store,
sell, pick, package and ship.
It is way more work than you could possibly think starting out.
But if you like it, it can be fun.

Good luck

Likely just not finding the correct item in the catalog.
Wondering though if the modified head on the left is a missprint as it looks
like the head on the right but with the full pattern is filled in. The one on
the left has a 3475 on the inside and a 01 on the opposite inside. Found in a
bulk lot.

Suppose you have about 50 pounds of minifigs and parts, separated into heads,
torsos, legs, accessories, armor, etc. If you start with a basic head https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626bp01&idColor=3#T=C&C=3
there are 477 minifigs that use this head. How can I easily find out which of
these is
a) low in stock
b) has significant value
c) is selling quickly

This goes for any other part as well. With over 1000 pounds to list, how can
I know what is moving well, or low in stock, or has larger than usual value?

If there are many figures with the same part it is likely not very valuable and
even if in demand the supply will be very high. I would suggest sorting all the
parts into the various parts; heads, torsos, legs, headgear, and bodywear etc.
Weapons and tools can be put to the side as most figures don’t have them included.
I then quality check every piece. Have a soft bristled tooth brush and a damp
cloth at hand. The toothbrush is perfect for removing dust and the damp cloth
for cleaning spots. Personally I only keep the excellent used condition (EUC)
pieces unless they are rare. It won’t take you long to start to identify the
more common vs rarer parts. Non-EUC common pieces I sell on eBay as lots. Once
you have cleaned and sorted your parts group colours together. Leg colour in
bricklink are based on hips. So start with hips and then sort all same colour
by their legs. I sort torsos into police/fire fighters and other commons then
into torso colour divided by arm colours.

Now that you have all the other parts sorted cleaned and ready for assembly into
figures I focus on the heads. Start by sorting regular vs modified heads then
by colour. Then double sided vs single sided. Then you can put all those with
glasses or beard into separate containers. Then you can seperate head types from
there (hollow stud, solid stud, open stud etc.) These help when identifying and
reducing the number of returns when searching. On average non yellow heads are
on figures that have more value. I would also say double sided non-yellow are
more valuable than single sided non-yellow. Based on this I start with modified
heads, then double sided non-yellow, then single sided non-yellow, then yellow
double sided, lastly single-sided yellow.

Use a separate site like https://figureitout.app/blfigure to filter figures based
on head colour/type/glasses/beard etc. If I don’t have all the parts to make
the figure I bag it and mark the BL part number so it is ready for upload.
Once I finish all the heads then I work at identifying and bagging all the other
parts. If I find one with good value I will see how many parts for that figure
I have and see if it is worth putting the figure together. Full figures in my
opinion sell for more value than parts when the figure is more rare. Bag and
mark all the parts for the figure and start a wanted list with the part you need
the value of the figure and the figure id. This helps when shopping to understand
the potential value vs your cost.

I am sure I missed parts and maybe others will add in.
The main thing you should know is this will take an insane amount of time. Way
more than you could possibly imagine. If you have a full time job and other responsibilities
I would really caution you on starting this. Once you start you will have invested
a significant amount of time and will need to finish to get your value out of
that time.

Good luck

Edward

Hello,

I would suggest reaching out to the seller and explaining the situation as the
first step.
Depending on how the seller responds will guide your next steps.

I hope you are able to work things out.

I have excluded the Step 6 because I didn't considered as an Energy Effect
but you are right, it is.
Maybe you can consider all the oldest and already inventoried minifigures as
just they are and applied the new rules (if there will be some new) to the new
minifigures from now.
You will not need to delete any minifigures.

Excluding the energy effect (brick round and dish) I think that in this minifigure
we should apply the wings. But I will wait your response.

The wings would definitely be applied. That is not in question.

  Thanks,
Mirko

In Catalog, randyf writes:
If we want to remain consistent with how we are currently defining things, this
minifigure would be considered complete at Step 6 because that is the last step
before handheld accessories are added. However, I think it is time that we remove
all energy effects as parts from minifigures. This would have an effect on all
the Iron Man figures, Ultron figures, etc. that currently use the round 1x1 bricks
as energy effects. I will have a talk about this with the other admins. Please
stand by.

Cheers,
Randy

In Catalog, Mirko8710 writes:
  Hi all,

this is the other question about this set.
Should I considered only step 1: figure + body wear?
Or we need to consider also steps 2-3-4-5?

I think that we should add the wings because in most of the images this figure
is presented with them (because in the "story" it should be the armour which
saves Tony from the AIM). In the other hand we already have another example sh497
that was presented in the same way (with wings) but was uploaded only with the
body wear.

Let me know,

many thanks,
Mirko

p.s. obviously, choosing the winged one, will need to add also the variant with
stickers.

Wouldn’t this create an inconsistency with how iron man in set 76107 was inventoried?
It is only the figure with the neck piece.

the thing I dislike most about ordering from this site, in how hard it is to
control the quality of the pieces that I get.

And I don't think loose pieces should be categorized between "new" and "used",
because all loose pieces are used (Yes I know you can order them individually
from Lego at times, but functionally when you buy lego it comes in a set, outside
of that set they are used).

What there needs to be is a grading scale, either number based (1-5) or description
based (Comics use words like Mint, Near Mint, Very Fine, Fine, etc; playing cards
will use words like Near Mint, Lightly Played, Moderately Played, Damaged, etc).

Sellers would be forced to classify all their pieces into one of these conditions,
and then I would be able to filter out conditions that I thought were unacceptable.

Create a clear cut visual guide for conditions, and award disputes based on that.
I sell cards on www.tcgplayer.com and knowing that buyers can win disputes if
I send them cards that are worse then they wanted, I make sure to put forth the
effort to accurately grade the cards when I list them. Yes it is more work, but
I have never once had an issue with a buyer buying a card from me that they were
unhappy with because of the condition.

In my first batch of orders on this site I got several pieces that were damaged,
etc. It was really frustrating, because when doing mass purchases on this site
it is seemingly impossible to filter out bad pieces, and when you let the site
build the orders for you, its hard to see and notice all the "notes" that sellers
put on their items.

So I don't feel justified in blaming a seller because I received two saddles
with broken clips, forcing me to order two new saddles, because they noted it
on their items. The issue here is the functionality of the website to convey
that to me, and allow me to filter their items from my potential orders.

I honestly would suggest you take a hard look at www.tcgplayer.com Coming from
card games, I was really surprised at how similar the process of buying/selling/collecting
individual cards/decks/sets is to Lego pieces/sets. Like, functionally they are
completely the same, and TCGplayer is a really well honed marketplace (nothing
is perfect), but learning from what they do right would greatly improve your
already fantastic site.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but currently there isn't a way to do advanced
catalog search to omit items with comments/remarks added? That would weed out
entries where there's been a note about playwear/discoloring/bites etc.
Wouldn't get them all if they aren't remarked, but it would weed out
a lot. I know it's a mitigating factor to what's proposed, but the
question of enhancing a grading scale for used parts still leaves that scale
to be used by the discretion of the seller.

Some sellers will believe a part is in excellent shape, where others would see
the same part and say it's in average condition. It's a subjective scale,
no matter how detailed.

Excluded based on comments would also remove items that say “excellent used condition”.

myself. I parted them from two different sets. The battlepack and the speeder
so unsure which one they came from.

  NJO399 and NJO 410.

Just wondering if these should be moved to the ninjago minifigure category instead
of the junior category.
Just thinking someone looking for Ninjago wouldn’t look under Junior to find
them.

Also if someone can tell me how to list them so the link and photo appears it
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Edward

Sorry should have clarified I am wanting to know how to have the link and photo
appear in the post.

Type [m = njo399] and [m = njo410] without the spaces around the
equal signs.

Cheers,
Randy

Thank you.

I am wondering if there is a way to identify period specific legs for the original
classic space minifigures.
Also wondering if the solid stud head should be the squared off version as opposed
to the rounded version?
Anything to look for with the tanks?
I am comfortable identifying the original helmets and torsos.

Trying to re-assemble original versions and want to make sure I am doing it right.

Thanks for any help.

Edward
