Once you compare them side by side, like the one shown in the link posted by
1001bricks, you can see that old trans brown is very accurate.

Jim

I have looked at them side by side, and I agree there is a difference, as previously
noted. I do not agree, however, that brown is an accurate description.

pbbbbbbtssss!!!! Raspberry to all of you.

It depends what you mean by complete your set. If you mean complete it according
to the BL inventory, it will actually be easier as you don't need to worry
about variants.

Yes, I do mean to complete it with the BL inventory, and I can not see how it
will be easier. For years now BL has broken down the variants, which has been
exhausting from a selling standpoint, but helpful from a buying standpoint for
me anyway. I don't see how cancelling these previous distinctions is going
to make things easier. For example, if I am missing a specific variation/mold
from a set that is from 1983, I can not just plug in any variant. If so, the
authenticity of the set is now marred.

If it is no longer mandatory to keep up with distinctions, it will be even more
difficult and frustrating from a buying standpoint, always having to ask before
you buy, which will fluster the seller, especially if they have no idea which
variant they have and probably will not want to go digging to find out.

those changes. I knew about them before I bought the set. The problem is that
this set poses as a tribute to past sets, but imposes female characters into
places where they were not originally, both in life and in previous LEGO sets.
As noted, even the name forestmen, which is a widely accepted past theme that
is celebrated in the set, has been conveniently changed to forest guardians.
So it ends up being a degradation in my opinion, not a celebration. What the
heck.

Where did you see "Forest Guardian"?

All of the themes that are being celebrated by the set are listed on the box.
That's where it says Forest Guardians, instead of Forestmen. And it is
right beside the Forestmen Shield that has the little deer head on it. So it
is quite deliberate.

straight up abused! But I don’t have the heart to throw them out.

Has anyone known people that buy really beat up Lego? If there was a rare part
that was beat up, do people still buy them?

Don't worry, after a few years of running a store, you'll be much less
likely to get attached to damaged pieces. In fact, even the new pieces that
fall on the floor are likely to find a permanent home there.

Instead of selling the entire store at once, consider progressively discounting
your inventory, maybe start with 10% or 20% off and increasing from there. That
way you don't have to wait for that one buyer to show up. If you get too
many orders because of the discounting you can close the store until you catch
up. You can then list a bulk lot on feebay with whatever is left at the end.

I'm based in the Netherlands, and needed to drive about an hour to collect
everything. Compared to the US, that's probably not far at all, but shipping
a pallet could be cheaper than driving across states of course.

Hope this helps!

It's actually quite difficult to sell a large amount of (BL)LEGO at once

Say, you have a few of hundred pounds of _sorted_ LEGO parts and a hundred sets

How would would you ship that?

It would be very expensive!

Best to find a local BL shop that can xome pick up the stuff

No kidding?

Can this please be added to the catalog?

Not sure to understand.

You've to:
* download shop inventory (CTRL I, CTRL S)
* change one or few remarks
* select all
* export mass UPDATE and paste this in the BOTTOM field (important) of the mass
upload BL page where it says UPDATE.

If you do this it won't double the quantity, it just updates.

Sorry, but you clearly didn't read or interpret correctly what I have already
explained. The process that you detailed, is exactly what is not worrking, and
is exactly what is generating an internal error message.

Looking for help regarding this issue from folks that have experience with mass
update.

Step 1: when you have your BrickStore file at hand, give every Part the amount
-1
Upload them as usual
One remark: if you have 0 (zero) parts online in BrickLink, uploading -1 will
result in deleting the part from the BL database.

Step 2: make the changes in BrickStore, and upload every part +1
('new' everything)

Simple...
Tip: Uploading batches of about 600 different lines works fine, way more will
terribly slow down the proces (at BrickLink side).

Good luck!

Why these extra steps?
Brickstore (at least the current one) can handle mass update as it should.
Just changed some remarks and updated them using mass update.

@greenman,
what is the error you get? And where/when do you get it?

Thanks for the replies. As soon as I click on mass update in Brickstore, it
takes you to the Bricklink upload page as usual. However, when I paste the file
into the mass update box, it says internal error. Again, when i paste it into
mass upload box, it will work fine, but the quantities are going to be changed.
