them to justice! Then one day our dog got a hold of the police man and chewed
his head off.... Post your first LEGO set below!

First one I actually had to myself was
I wasn't allowed new LEGO sets growing up before then because my siblings
and I didn't get along and would hoard certain parts from a bucket of late
90's sets that was donated to us. Parents responded by throwing the hoarded
parts away.

I don't know what you can do, I'm not sure what they are trying to accomplish?
are they trying to sell fake sets? can the account get flagged somehow?

If Admin Russell sees this he can close it

| I have a very suspicious order from a user. I'm thinking they are drop-shipping
because the address they entered in looks strange to say the least with a request
to add a few lines and the wording "important" listed. They seem to have
a few hundred positive feedback, but they also have an email that is entirely
numeric with an unknown two letter domain. I have a warning symbol next to the
payment in the order so they may have paid with an e-check.
I don't know. It could be fine, but it feels off. Any thoughts on how to
proceed? It's an order for more than a dozen Oni Lloyds so kinda pricey.

| I have now had a couple international buyers that have listed their VAT ID number
at the top of the order. Bricklink does not require that a VAT invoice be printed
off and stuck on the package when this happens. My question is why do they not
have to pay VAT up front but if I order from someone internationally I have to
pay the VAT? Why can't I put in my tax ID number? This makes no sense to
me at all. ( and I am being nice in stating it this way) It is bad enough that
I have to pay US taxes when I have a sales tax number. IT has never made sense
to me that people have to pay tax when buying from a different country.
Someone needs to get this fixed. Playing the "it's not fair card"
it really isn't fair that some have to pay and some do not. No one with
a tax/VAT number should have to pay. We have waited long enough for this to
be resolved.

Wait what? Confused?
It's NORMAL EU Buyers may have to pay (or not) depending their amateur/pro
status when Importing (from US) and depending the amount (under 150€ IIRC).
From US buying in EU, you DON'T have to pay for ANY VAT for any reason, and
never have had too.
That's it.

Sorry you are wrong. Last order I got from Germany I had to pay $38.21 in tax.
Order from Singapore was $10.07 tax. Germany again tax was 6.71. I could go
on and on from all different parts of the world.

I'm paying taxes on international orders. I believe I paid a hefty amount
when I ordered from Nubs not too long ago. Do you mean you're being double
taxed?

4 Euro vs 37 Euro
Same number of the same part, with the same cart weight of 2.70 grams. So given
the choice, I naturally purchased from the Norwegian member with what is a more
than fair shipping rate offered. I’d buy from both, but I’m done with having
to negotiate a semi-reasonable shipping rate and/or fees, with EU members mostly.
No longer worth the effort.
Straighten out your shipping methods and rates, you’re hemorrhaging sales. Or
don't and let others pick-up those numbers
Just some advise I've long held onto and now don't need to, nothing more.
Just one of several recent examples:

There's one store in Estonia who has very cheap parts but going to checkout
results in a nasty surprise. I don't necessarily think it's all stores,
but I have noticed some stores having shipping expenses way too high.

| I had a thought to buy a lot of used parts to give them new life. Used being
used though, they can carry a lower price than new parts of the exact
same variety (masonry bricks seem to be an exception but those were on many store

That being said, does anyone happen to have a good estimate for how much less
on average as a percent used are from new?

What happens when you type “fc-match -s tahoma” (or arial) in a terminal?
Warning, the output will be rather long, you may add “| less” to page it.
The user-installed font should be on the first line.
In any case, that gives you the list of fonts the system will propose when it’s
asked for ‘tahoma.’
Then, you can look in your browser’s configuration for its default font (I think
it should be the desktop’s default font… and you can check that in the desktop
config).
Your desktop environment (Gnome I guess?) should also have a font manager where
you can explore (and install) fonts.
|
It's installed and it's actually rendering Tahoma properly. At smaller
scales, that font is somewhat illegible.
So that partially solves things but I'm curious to know if that font is what
Bricklink is supposed to display in some places. If it is, then I think my only
two options are trying to get it to render a different font in its place or to
continue the route I am and use TamperMonkey to execute JavaScript to swap it
out.
