OK, I think I see now it is not as simple as I thought and the head piece and
mask of Makuta are shown in both orientations, such that the 4 hole area is both
a chin and also near the back of the head by the ears or horns (at least that's
what I see...)

| I just noticed the mask that is described with a "4 hole chin", is not the chin
area. The holes are actually on the opposite end of what I would call the 'chin'
area of the mask.
and similarly the the 6 hole mask

I parted out this set from sealed bags. These undetermined rare parts are very easy to remember and have remained separate in my storage since the day I put them there. The other undetermined parts in this set have sold or have mixed with other parts so I can't help with them.

The baseplates should be part of set inventory, they are being used in the builds. Also this is consistent with other sets with this storage bin.

BINGO, I like this explanation. If I look indirectly at them, I see the same
colours. When I look more directly at them, it's the shadow effects that
are different..

| Did this part need to be assembled in original sets?

This assembly is only in counterparts of set inventories, and (very annoying
to many) its high cost parts are in set inventories instead.
I've never seen this part separated and I would be very surprised if it didn't
originally come assembled.
