It looks like Sweet Mayhem will be, or is @ Target. It looks like a RedCard
exclusive? Haven't seen Benny yet.

Edit: Benny is @ Target as well.

Lego loop. Last year(?) I missed out on the classic set exclusives, some s@h
specials, and now these special sets.

41999 was bad enough, but that was more quantity, a smaller audience, and worldwide.

Releasing these with no notice and just to Wal-Mart in the US is a dick move.
It's not like they are fringe characters either, a lot of people like these
two, it just doesn't make sense to not release these popular characters worldwide
to take advantage of the movie.

I'm all for scumbag reselling, you have to hate the game not the player.
LEGO shouldn't be enabling this in the first place, just like 41999, just
like the series 18 Policeman. I'm all for taking advantage as a seller, but
I don't agree the opportunity should exist in the first place.

I'm hoping they do release worldwide, and not limited. It would be stupid
not to. If they don't release Emmet and Wyldstyle, then there is no point
in wider releases of Sweet Mayhem and Benny.

In Suggestions, PurpleDave writes:
Bricklink famously ground to a halt, twice, because it got hacked. The site
may have been restored to working condition, but a lot of us want nothing to
do with risking exposure of our financial accounts to anyone who may be lurking
behind the scenes. Sellers don't want to give Bricklink the level of control
required to accept payments through Bricklink. Bricklink has announced that
in about a month, they plan to scuttle offsite Paypal as a payment option, without
even taking any input from their core membership. The reason stated was that
new, usually one-time buyers, can't figure out where the payment button is
when they select offsite Paypal as a payment option, so they plan to basically
cut off any buyers and sellers who refuse to use any other form of payment, and
who especially want nothing to do with any onsite Paypal options.

Make offsite Paypal an opt-in payment option. Sellers obviously have to select
up front which payment options they will accept. Make all _buyers_ voluntarily
choose to see offsite Paypal as a payment option when checking out. If a seller
does not accept any other payment options, have them flagged as "does not ship
to you", just like if they were from another country and didn't have your
country enabled for shipping options. If a new buyer signs up, they should be
required to read an explanation of how offsite Paypal works, and confirm that
they want to be able to choose that as a payment option before they even see
it appear in lists.

But seriously, don't chase away a bunch of your regular customers in the
hope that you might be able to "grow your business" on the bank accounts of people
who just get sent here to buy a replacement part that LEGO Consumer Affairs can't
provide, or who are looking for just one retired set, and will never log in again
after they receive their shipment.

Yes, please. I really hope they continue to offer Off-site as a payment option.
I really don't want to close my store next month. That said, I will not be
linking my PayPal account with BrickLink. Fingers crossed here, for sure.

I'm looking through the active listings for used Star Wars sets to price
some items I am adding to my inventory. Every single one I found someone listing
the set as "complete" but in the comments describing the pieces or minifigs that
are missing.

The price guide is really valuable here, as is creating a quality shopping experience
for customers (many of which are brand new to Bricklink).

Sometimes I will send a note to the store owner and ask them to correct, although
it is a lot of work to do it every time and I certainly am not going to follow
up.

I would suggest that BL scan through the comments on used set listings and look
for ones listed as complete with the word "missing" in the comments. Then send
an robo-email to the store owner and bring it to their attention.

... also I think check boxes when adding sets to inventory for "instructions"
"box" "stickers" "minifigures" would be useful but that would take actual programming
and I doubt there are resources for that.

Yikes, I actually had one of those listings. Apologies for that, also thanks
for pointing it out! All fixed.

  Hey folks!

Buyers can't see their cart weight unless they enable some obscure option.
Why is that option even not enabled by default? Why can't I, as a seller,
force buyers to see their cart weight in my store?

This means that if buyers aren't aware that this option exists, they have
to guess the weight, ask the seller continuously as they add batches, or request
a bunch of quotes.

Why force this upon ourselves when the website can automatically do it for us?

I suggest we allow sellers to show cart weights to their buyers, even if the
buyers haven't enabled that option.

Thanks for voting!

Kindest regards stacey.

Right now, one must be a registered member to buy on BrickLink. I don't know
for sure, but I have always suspected that the BL member registration process
has turned away many buyers who just want to make a quick purchase without going
through registration or becoming a member. A great many retail websites allow
immediate purchasing without registering or becoming a member, and many online
buyers are used to buying without jumping through these hoops. Of course, one
big difference with these online retailers is that they provide shipping charges
up-front and instant payment on checkout.

Therefore, once BrickLink has an instant shipping calculator and payment on checkout
system in place, I suggest that BrickLink also allow buyers to place orders without
requiring them to register or wait. If they are not already a registered member,
they will need to enter their name, shipping address and phone number when placing
their order. If registration is necessary, then make providing this information
on checkout all the registration that is needed - and make it instant so they
don't have to wait or go offsite to check their emails and confirm anything.
In other words, combine instant registration with the placement of their first
order.

I know some sellers would not want to sell to non-members, since (arguably) membership
does allow some minimal screening of buyers and (arguably) keeps away the riff-raff
they may have on their stoplists. I say "arguably" though because any banned
buyer can very easily circumvent the rules by opening a duplicate account or
having a "friend" or "relative" open an account. If someone really wants to buy
from you, they WILL find a way.

Nonetheless, some sellers may still be concerned about allowing non-members to
place orders with them. Therefore, please make it OPTIONAL for sellers to permit
sales to non-members. If a non-member tries to buy from a seller who sells only
to members, it should be clearly noted in their shop terms AND a pop-up should
appear on checkout noting:

"This store sells only to registered members. If you wish to complete this purchase,
please click on this link to register as a member of BrickLink:"

While there may be increased risks in servicing any and all buyers who may walk
into your shop, it seems to be a risk almost every online and real world B&M
business can easily handle. And regardless of whether this added risk is real
or not, it will certainly get more buyers here on BrickLink and in the stores
of those who wish to sell to such buyers.

Thor

Yeah, I would agree to this. I have actually walked away from a purchase or
two on other sites that required registration. When the mood strikes and I just
want to make a purchase then I want it simple...and now. The option sounds great.
I wouldn't say I would want this to be a "Members Only" place, just like
I never really cared for jackets w/ the same name...
