This is a little confusing, do you mean that you are paying Minnesota state taxes
when you make purchases? I am a seller from Canada, and when I get an order from
some of the states, there is a state tax that some folks have to pay. Whether
it comes from the EU, Canada or anywhere, you live in MN so you pay taxes on
your purchases. BL collects those taxes for your state. EU folks have to display
a VAT ID for their business purposes whether you are affected by the VAT or not.
Hopefully I understood correctly and this helps a little?

Have an epic day!

I have a sales tax number which means I do NOT have to pay taxes on product for
resale. However, Bricklink has not fixed this yet and so we have to pay tax.
I do not think we should also have to pay tax when we buy internationally as
well.

So point is those with a sales tax number should not have to pay taxes anywhere.
As stated before Bricklink is suppose to fix this. They have not. So my question
was why do some international people have the option to give their VAT number
and not pay taxes and the rest of us can't.

Wait what? Confused?

It's NORMAL EU Buyers may have to pay (or not) depending their amateur/pro
status when Importing (from US) and depending the amount (under 150€ IIRC).

From US buying in EU, you DON'T have to pay for ANY VAT for any reason, and
never have had too.
That's it.

Sorry you are wrong. Last order I got from Germany I had to pay $38.21 in tax.

Order from Singapore was $10.07 tax. Germany again tax was 6.71. I could go
on and on from all different parts of the world.

These vintage parts should all go into a vintage area on Bricklink. Put them
into a separate area. Should not be that hard to just move them.
connie

By the way, speaking of working on stuff that really doesn't need to be worked
on..........we were told a couple of years ago that once all the vat and sales
tax was added to the checkout that THEN they would fix it so that those with
a sales tax number would not have to pay the tax. Has this happened? NO!! Nothing
is more frustrating than having to pay tax on something bought internationally.
So stupid. This is more important to me than variation in parts being redone.

need to work on when they can use this time to actually update the outdated site?!

Reading through most of the threads, I can not see if this will affect the 1

Upcoming schedule:

Tomorrow (Feb 1) we will begin handling issue number 11 in the overview, which
includes tiles and 1 x 1 round bricks. This will not involve any merging, only
changing Item Numbers and Item Names.

A list of changes for this first step will be sent out tomorrow to our affiliates.
If you run a database and would like this list (Excel format), please contact
me through BrickLink and I will send you the list.

This first step is scheduled to be finished by Feb 14.

We have a meeting on Monday (Feb 5) with our catalog admins to go through the
rest of the list and make final decisions. After that meeting, a schedule will
be made for the merges. Due to the large number of minifigure heads in the catalog,
the merge process is likely to not be complete until the end of May.

As soon as I voided it I then invoiced him. It worked. He paid and it went

Anyone know of a simple fix?

I am having this same problem. I checked my orders today after someone requested
a tracking number and I went to the tracking page so I could send them the direct
link. It looks like 6 out of 9 of the labels I purchased today are recycled tracking
numbers. Are you using ShipStation like I am? I've never seen this before

That way the seller can change the listing to comply with the rules (instead

The e-mail does not give the full listing details, so it is not always clear
what is wrong with the listed item. Also the reason given is not clear.

I just recieved an e-mail stating that a few stickers I listed are deleted.
Reason given: "Item is incorrectly defined as New/Used or Complete/Incomplete/Sealed"
It concerns a few incomplete sticker sheets. I have more incomplete sheets listed
and they are not deleted or mentioned in the e-mail.

Is it wrong to list incomplete sticker sheets as 'new' (with a picture
of the actual sheet and clearly stated in the comments that it is incomplete)?
The stickers still on the sheet are new (never used).
Just to be save I changed the remaining incomplete sticker sheets to 'used'.
And I will re-list the deleted items as 'used'. Hopefully I can still
fing the pictures of the deleted items.

Sticker sheets missing stickers must be listed as Used.

Why can't partial sheets be sold as new, but indicating incomplete? After
all, it happens a lot with minifigures, even though parts are missing and there
is no formal incomplete setting.

totally agree!!. I just got a sticker sheet removed that is a rare large one
from idea book 250....meaning long ago. It was missing one small sticker. The
rest was mint. This to me is New/Incomplete which is how I listed it. It for
sure is not used. Used brings up images of wrinkled, cut, stickers taken off
and put back on the sheet. Stickers missing one sticker or more is not used.
It is incomplete. Lately stickers coming out of new boxes are wrinkled or have
a sticker stuck to the instruction book. These were still considered new but
incomplete.
This was a bad decision.

The brick modified and plate modified categories are already too big. Have no
idea if they can be made smaller, but for sure lets not add anything to them.

It's your catalog. What would you like to see and how would you revise the
category descriptions to make it happen?

If it were up to me, I would get rid of the hinge category altogether. Most of
the hinge parts look like they would fit better in a different category (brick
modified, plate modified, technic, train, vehicle, etc).

You would never know these parts were ever white by looking at them since the
color is even on all surfaces of every part. Because the set was sealed, it could
not be UV damage due to sunlight as so many sites claim, so some other chemical
process occurs. There must be some sort of breakdown of some additive in the
ABS due to storage conditions of the set (maybe higher temperatures). I don't

You are assuming that the panels were in mint shape before they were mailed and
got messed up by poor packing. Who knows what the panels really looked like
before mailing. Unless you know for sure that they were stored properly so that
they wouldn't get all scratched up in a bin, you can not for sure say they
got that way in the mail. Just saying.
Connie

I think all sellers should be required to ship their orders in corrugated cardboard
boxes. I recently received an order of 24 NEW

Parts: Panel

from a 5000+ feedback seller. All 24 of them were thrown into a Ziploc baggie
and that baggie was crammed, along with the other lots in the order, into a flimsy
bubble mailer. Well, you can imagine what the surfaces of those panels looked
like after be squished and tossed from conveyor belt to conveyor belt as they
made their way across the country before being shoved into my mailbox. If they
had been shipped in a cardboard box they wouldn't have received nearly that
amount of abuse.

Therefore I suggest we force all sellers to ship orders in cardboard boxes.
Some orders, such as one or two figs, would probably be fine in a bubble mailer,
but rules are rules and we must enforce them uniformly and without mercy. We
must protect the entire community from the few sloppy sellers that are out there.

If a buyer receives an order that is not in a cardboard box, he must send a picture
of the package (with mailing label visible) to Admin. Once Admin approves the
picture, the seller will receive a non-negotiable negative feedback. If three
such feedback are received then selling privileges are revoked.

I ship 99% of my orders in a box already, so I don't see why this would be
such a big deal.

especially frustrating on a small mobile screen--it's just clutter.

Can we drop them or at least have an option in our settings to turn them off?

I hate it and it is useless. Especially if you accidently hit it when scrolling
down an order you are packing. Bang right back at the top.
Seriously who thinks of these things? It covers up everything and makes it hard
to even order from another store if one wants to buy the last item on the page.
Have to scroll up just to get rid of the scroll up icon. Trying to help new
users does not mean new users are idiots. I think they know what a scroll bar
is for.
Get rid of it.

There are a lot people out there, it seems, that want sellers to commit customs
fraud.

Would it be a good idea if BL included " Buyer requested customs fraud " in the
reasons for seller to cancel an order?

Not allowing said alledged fraudster to feedback the seller would prevent retaliatory
actions from the buyer would also be nice in this instance

I was checking through eBay's listing rules and came across this interesting
little blurb clearly noting what eBay thinks and does about customs fraud. From
a section of eBay's Help Desk dealing with "encouraging illegal activity":

"Policy Overview

For a safer buying and selling experience on eBay, we don't allow selling
or linking to items that encourage, promote, facilitate, or instruct others to
engage in illegal activity.

We also don't allow buyers to ask sellers to break any laws. For example,
buyers can't ask sellers to falsify customs declarations or have an item
marked as "gift" in order to avoid customs fees.

...

Reporting a violation

If you find a listing that encourages illegal activity, you can report it.

If you sold an item and your buyer asks you to commit customs fraud, you can
report it."

(with the words in bold being an actual link to report such things to eBay).
See:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/encouraging-illegal-activity.html

I don't see why BrickLink cannot have a similar policy.

Thor

The reporting of it is no good if nothing is done. We had this happen two years
ago. A buyer in the UK asked us to change the customs form. We said no. Upon
receiving the package he first wrote us a nasty letter and then gave us a negative.
He was reported to ebay with his e-mails to us. I don't know if ebay did
anything to him but they sure would not remove our negative from him.

Not infrequently I receive a new order from a member that has not completely
filled out their address.

Can we make the city, state/province, postal code, country fields mandatory
before the creation of an account - or at least mandatory before being able to
place an order.

I understand that there are specific countries that may not have "province" or
"postal code" fields that are applicable - so maybe this is only mandatory for
US, Can, UK, etc..

Mike.

Especially true for Asian countries. Some of those lines are so long they don't
fit on a label and it is nearly impossible to figure out where to cut and make
a new line.
