  Hello Everyone!

I want to start off by saying, THANK YOU for being here with me for 20 years come this Saturday.

We have put the entire shop on sale. Sets are a minimum of 9% off, with many up to 15%. Everything else is on sale at a minimum of 15% up to 50% off.

Sale will go on until next Tuesday, the 12th. PLEASE NOTE - Nothing will ship until at least September 14th - smaller orders will be processed first (they are fast), larger orders will be done as soon as possible.

If your order needs to be boxed/invoiced it may take us until early next week to get that done as we will be out of town.

Thank you once again for 20 great years, and we are looking forward to another 20!

A milestone worthy of celebration! The site itself only has three years on you...
Well done too, for maintaining such a high level of excellence for those 20 years

ALL THE THANKS for this response! We appreciate it, and being in good company,
too.

(I have no idea if VAT is something that can
be tax exempt like we can with individual states and reseller certs in the U.S.).

VAT-registered businesses can buy from VAT-registered businesses with a 0% VAT.
(Provided buyer and seller are in the same “VAT-area” or country.  That is, both
in EU, or both in UK, but not one in UK and one in EU.)

It’s an “exemption” in practice but not in name.  It’s a way of handling VAT
because when you’re VAT-registered, the VAT you pay is deductible, so it’s a
mechanism to neither pay it nor deduct it.

I think it’s workable on BrickLink (because BL doesn’t collect VAT inside the
VAT-areas; the BL VAT mechanism is just a way to show and compute prices).

As for importations (which is the only moment BrickLink has to and does collect
VAT), a VAT-registered business can choose whether they are treated as a “normal”
buyer, by paying VAT (that, contrarily to normal buyers, they’ll be able to deduct
afterward) or not pay VAT through the marketplace and declare and pay it on their
own.

And, for information and comparison, BrickLink has already implemented that:
BL VAT-registered sellers have the option to “remove” import VAT at checkout.

GREAT information. THANK YOU!

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but was thinking about this questions
and thought to check out the forum, finally. LOL

I've had this issue as well, with International orders - and I know it's
because VAT is being collected, and this does make perfect sense to me - but,
BrickLink needs to have a set-up where the buyer can put in their tax Exempt
cert so that they can be approved to NOT pay taxes (which is what most big on-line
retailers will do for you through their customer service - if they choose to
support this - I've actually been told in the past by a huge company that
they won't do it on-line, if I want to do that I have to go into the store
and not buy from them on-line). (I have no idea if VAT is something that can
be tax exempt like we can with individual states and reseller certs in the U.S.).

Hello all!

We will be closing up shop in early February and not returning until sometime in early May of this year (2023).

We've put on a storewide sale and welcome all orders while we are open. We won't be available to fill orders during our closure so wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to get what they were interested in before we are closed.

This year will be 20 years on BrickLink - thank you all for your continued support and community!

  Hi all,

it strikes me that some items are in the catalogue and sellers do not use a tier
pricing, but a new listing instead.

For example:

Catalog: Parts: Minifigure, Headgear: 88287: Price Guide

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=88287&colorID=1

but all listings except 1 are from the same seller!!

I understand these could be different batches, but it would be nice if a seller
would use a tier price instead.

Or am I just OCD on this one?

Have fun

Xandra

There are a couple of different perspectives on the tier vs multiple listings
model.

Tiers might be configured for pre-counted batches of parts, where the seller
can fill them more quickly than loose. I can also see some sellers stacking prices,
where the first copy of the set goes at $25, the next at $30, etc. That is, not
so much a tier, but an incremental price bump as the items sell. There are also
fine gradations in the quality of the listed item, which might dictate a different
listing (and price).

Nita Rae

I agree.

For me, sometimes I'll have a few of something in one spot and want to not
combine them so list a new lot elsewhere at a different price, and might also
have a bulk option - but, I find it incredibly excessive when it is SO MANY especially
for parts. Sets I understand more, but parts it can be a bit ridiculous when
some of that could easily be nested - but then I wonder if it's situations
of where items are stored, etc. (Some inventories can be a bit complex with not
enough remarks notes, but I should hope it's not that way for every part
in one's store, LOL).

It's not related to VAT.

Packaging Act is to pay for recycling things you send in Germany.
Dot.

VAT is, doh! VAT.

Looks like it's a serious thing as eBay just had an update saying that all
sellers selling to Germany regardless of their location need to follow the rules
of the act or their listings won't be shown to German buyers.

Do bricklink sellers need to register?
Will bricklink enforce the registration?

I didn't see it discussed in much detail in the forum and it's probably
time to know more as the deadline isn't far away.

I'm following up with this to see if anyone had issues since inception? We
have a non-LEGO business on Etsy and have seen many small business people say
they can't sell now as Germany is fining them.

I'm curious if this is actually covered by TLG for the U.S., and anywhere

Hoping someone has some idea? I'd hate to stop shipping to our German customers,
but we will if this is attached to the individual shipper and not to whom is
handling the tax collection, etc.

I'm posting this publicly due to this buyer being a potential issue for other
sellers:

Buyer: aircargo

Ordered $135 of product shipping to a U.S. address, with a Canadian address in
his profile. He supplied us with the U.S. address, and we have clear messages
about it. He filed a PP chargeback in JULY, after posting positive feedback shortly
after the item was delivered in May. Paypal sided with us, and now, after a month+
evidently he filed with his credit card, and they sided with him, so now we are
being charged back the entire amount plus $15.00 fee because he states he didn't
get the item, but left us feedback stating he did.

You might want to stoplist this guy, as since he's done it to us, I'm
sure he'll do it to others, and it won't matter if it goes to his address
in Canada or the U.S. as most credit card companies aren't this lenient,
in my experience, with no proof.

We reached out to him, and no response at all, which tells me he's doing
this fraudulently.

Best,

Tracy

  Good morning-

I just received an updated terms and policy agreement from PayPal. I noticed
this:
-U.S. business accounts will not be able to receive personal transactions from
PayPal accounts outside the U.S. starting October 31, 2022.
-U.S. PayPal accounts will not be able to send personal transactions to business
accounts outside the U.S. starting October 31, 2022.

Now, I rarely purchase internationally and I don't sell, so this is probably
moot to me. But: could this have larger implications for others on BrickLink?

I did look through the archive to see if anyone else had brought this up, but
didn't readily see anything. Forgive me if it is a duplicate post.

Just curious-
David

If by "personal transactions" they mean when someone sends money through the
Friends and Family method, then I think it will be fine.

Also David

Based on what I could find, this is what they mean:

"Paypal, the fintech conglomerate headquartered in Sunny city of San Jose in
California, defines 'Personal Payments' as transactions between friends
and family. Money transfer, when initiated through the 'Friends and family'
tab under the 'Send Money' option, is counted under such transactions."

I'm not admin or anything, but I found the issue and cause by troubleshooting
the HTML a bit. So the issue is that there is an undefined variable within the
website coding which is causing the inventory to fail to show. Specifically the
issue is regarding the option for sellers to "Enable my weight and packing dimension..".
I was able to uncheck this option as it is not used much within my store, and
am able to see my entire inventory. But I do not see this as a feasible resolution
for all stores so hopefully admin can resolve the issue quickly.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
