We just hit 25,000,000 orders on April 17th, so that store at the bottom finally
got their feedback.

LOL! No I wouldn't either. Clearly they know your value and keep coming
back.
Check out this thread from a month ago and look at the last post from a few minutes

they're doing the same. https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1462614

| Just wanted to follow up. I had a slow few weeks and then had 25 orders over
last weekend. Lots of 0 feedback new buyers and I was too busy to remember to
put the letter in each package.
However, I spot checked one person who left feedback today and went to their
"feedback left for others" tab and was beside myself when I saw the screen
shot below. They received their package today, and left feedback for myself
and 6 other stores today too.

| Lots of discussion about your terms, but that would mostly impact the amount
of orders you get. Hopefully with the changes you're planning to make you'll
have more orders coming in.
To your question though, it's frustrating as hell; especially as a new store.
60% seems to be the norm lately. I do everything I can to go above and beyond
with communications, shipping times and packaging and I just can't seem to
close in on Popsicle's 75%.
I did a deep dive recently with my own orders and there are several buyers with
8xx, 1xxx even 2xxx+ feedback who have left exactly ZERO feedbacks to any other
user. Other people tend to do it all at once at the end of every month. Hopefully
some of your missing ones are the latter group.

for invoice (backup method)".
Is this an option that is always available on the checkout page?
I am trying to figure out why it looks like it was not possible to automatically
generate the invoice. Going over my shipping method, I noticed that there was
a fairly strict limit on the box size (3cm height) and the items sold were complete
sets.
The size in the Bricklink catalogue is obviously larger.
Could that have been the issue?
Is there any way to debug these kind of things? Like making a fake order in my
shop?
Thanks,
Peter

It might have exceeded the dimensions, but we'd need more information. What
set was it and what is your largest shipping option you have and do you have
it set for Max Dimensions or Total Dimensions? I personally prefer the "max
dimension" option a I reuse the boxes from LEGO which come in a variety of
standard sizes.
If you measure the exterior of these boxes, back out .5 inches (1cm?) so that
you have the interior dimensionsfor the product to fit inside.

Well, yes, you would have to scrounge up the parts somewhere else besides PaB.
BrickLink is one of those choices. PaB is always going to be modern, in-production
parts.
|
That's crazy. Considering how popular trains are in people's cities,
this part had such a short production run:

Type 2 hasn’t been seen in a set since 2016.
And it’s only in one set from 2016 where Type 3 is an alternate.
So I would rule out finding Type 2 on PaB. That’ll be Type 3.

Should they be variants?

| Pick-a-Brick only has two train Buffer Beams; No.1 and No.2. (I don't think
we're allowed to post links to that site so just go there and type in "Train
buffer beam" They have 6172142/29082, but BL only shows a result when you
search 6172142 and sends you to this . It appears that is correct
since it has the Pilot at the bottom.
PaB then has a Train Buffer Beam No.2 with the ID(s) 6172149/29084 which both
send you to which lists it as "type 3"
But when you do a search for Train Buffer Beam - Type 2 on Bricklink you finally
find: Which isn't on PaB.
Since there isn't a 3D option for the part on PaB, you can't see the
bottom to know if it's the open or closed version.
So; A: does anyone know if the PaB one is the "closed bottom" and B:
Do the "type 2" and "type 3" on BL need to be swapped to align
with what's on (or not on) PaB?
Sincerely-
Confused in Cincinnati

It is still not obvious to me hat can be done with a set that is missing one
part. Is it now that you must either complete the set or part it out into minifigures
and individual parts or custom lots.
In a way it looks like they are trying to match what they did with minifigures
but the big difference is that there is an existing setting for incomplete sets
whereas there was no setting for incomplete minifigures.

Makes sense. The one I'm referring to this week was fixed/relisted eventually.

I'm on board with the policy. There have been a lot of times I'm trying
to research the price of a new or used set and might see "incomplete"
sets listed for ~$100 less that are missing the minifigures. Then I see in the
sales history a few that were also sold for ~$100 less than all the others which
pulls the average price down, but we don't know if it was complete or incomplete.

Click the "Exclude Incomplete" box to see stats for completed sets only.

is this what your looking for?
|
Yes, but I've seen some slip through the cracks. The new "report listing"
feature has been helpful. There was one this week that was listed as "Complete
but missing minifigs". is the system automated to cull those out expeditiously
or is it on the users to report the listing?

| This comes from the May newsletter. I am now totally confused.
Listing incomplete sets
Let's talk about incomplete listings! Our Item Condition policy only allows
certain parts of a set to be missing, such as instructions or original packaging,
to qualify it as Incomplete.
When you list sets that are missing minifigures or just the minifigures from
a set, they should not be listed as an incomplete set. They are qualified as
'Custom items'. The process for listing them is the same, except that
you should check the 'Custom item' check box, as shown below.
Listing items as 'Custom' not only helps buyers in their search for specific
items, but it also helps keep our price guide more precise for sellers.
OK, so it seems if you remove the minifigures from a set, or sell part of a set,
that set can no longer be listed as incomplete but has to be listed as a custom
lot. What is an incomplete set. It says this policy change (?) is to keep the
price guide precise for sellers, but what are you comparing when looking at incomplete
sets?
If a set has 10 minifigures, and is missing 1, is it an incomplete set? What
about 5, or 9. According to the official statement missing all 10 is not an incomplete
set but a custom lot. So where is tge critical point?
Same with parts, how much can be missing and still be an incomplete set? And
if someone else has sold an incomplete set, how do I know how complete/incomplete
it was?
This seems to be a huge policy change, especially the part that an incomplete
set can only be missing the box and instructions. That was previously allowed
under the definition of a used but complete set, and my understanding was that
a used set could be complete if it was missing just the box and/or instructions,
but a seller should add comments to say these were missing.
|
