The one you've linked to has a starched cape.

sh289 (Inv) Robin - Green Hands and Hood
Minifigures: Super Heroes: Batman II

The cape from this Robin matches the cut of the brand new Robin, but if I had
to guess that one looks like starched fabric. The new one is spongy, stretchable.
Can anyone check?

They attack about once a week too. Bad timing for you

All posts (and replies) need approval? It's not that difficult if you "hire"
a person or two as forum mods that do only that. Or, as I've seen in a different
forum, you must have at least x amount of "quality" posts before you're free
to post without any checks and balances. Only some suggestions

That seems like a pretty big use of resources to deal with a minor inconvenience
that the existing forum mods already handle as well as can be expected.

I would agree if the weight shown was accurate. Currently there is only a single
weight in the catalog for each part when there are known differences in weight
based on mold variations, different colours, age of the part, etc. When purchased
in larger quantities the difference in catalog weight and actual weight can be
significant.

The catalog weight is intended as a guideline only and should remain as such
until it is more accurate.

In Suggestions, Miffy. writes:
  Hey folks!

I think this option is counter-productive for buyers. (See image below)

Sellers are allowed to turn off the display of cart weight in their store, even
if the buyer has chosen to see cart weight.

This means that if buyers are cost-of-shipping-sensitive, they have to manually
calculate the cart weight, or ask the seller for a quote.

Why force this upon ourselves when the website can automatically do it for us?

I suggest we force sellers to have the weight of cart shown within their store.

Thanks for voting!

Miffy.

I think it will also lead to an increase in paypal/credit card chargebacks for
things like buyer's remorse and unauthorized account use that may otherwise
have ended up as cancelations or NPB's. I'd much prefer to deal with
the NPB process (for the ~1% of orders in my store) and keep my product in hand
than dealing with the double whammy of shipping items and getting hit with a
chargeback after the fact.

In Suggestions, tEoS writes:
I'm on the fence about instant checkout. On one hand it will eliminate questions
about shipping costs and NPBs. However, on the other hand our options to refuse
to pay for or disputing an incomplete order (parts not available) will also
be gone. With the number of stores that have inventory errors I feel like instant
checkout is going to lead to other issues. More non-positive fb and retaliatory
fb.

I find that some stores process orders a lot faster than other stores. Most
of the time this is proportionate to the number of outstanding orders that the
store has yet to fill (IE how backlogged they are)

In some cases I've waited 3 weeks from the day I paid for an order until
it was actually shipped.

From a buyers perspective if I knew how many orders there were ahead of mine
it would help me make a decision as to whether or not I was going to order from
this store or not... (in many cases you have no choice because you are selecting
the store because they have most of the items on your wanted list)

But at least if I knew that the store had 100 orders ahead of mine I could make
an informed decision whether I wanted to buy from them or if I would be better
off splitting my order across a few stores that have much fewer orders ahead
of mine.

In the brick and mortar world it's like being in a food court... I could
really want Chipotle, but I can see they've got a huge line... but hey there's
no line at Subway... that's good enough... I'll go there...

So what would count against the seller would be things like
- Order Placed but not yet invoiced
- Orders Paid for by the buyer but not yet shipped

Things that would not count against the seller
- Orders invoiced but not yet paid for by the buyer

You could even display an average for number of days from the day the Buyer marks
the invoice as PAID to the day the SELLER sets the status to SHIPPED. This would
be simpler and tell you how fast a SELLER processes orders on average.

(Hopefully most people are honest... once again I've had a seller outright
lie and tell me that they shipped something out, but when I actually received
the item I can see what date it was post marked, and it's more than 2 weeks
later.. I understand people get busy and they have lives... but at least be
honest about it)

The total number of processing orders seems meaningless to me. A small seller
could be overwhelmed by two or three orders while twenty orders could be business
as usual for a larger store.

Sealed set contents.

This should probably be an alternate part. Mine (which I coincidentally purchased
from you) has the old style tile.

I have noticed that it is very common for sellers to issue a coupon to buyers
to of course try to entice them to return to their store.

I would like to do this as well but the coupon process is so time consuming so
what I was thinking is kind of two fold.

#1 - Create a link from the Orders Page that when clicked on with pre-populate
the buyers username and any other pertinent information for a coupon, this will
speed the ability to create a coupon.

#2 - Have a default coupon setting in a store so that when you click on this
link everything is populated and all that needs to be done is verification that
you want to send the coupon.

Brion

Both these functions already exist, you just need to enable them on your order
and coupon settings.

The nice thing about the current condition grading system is that it's clear-cut
what you're getting. New's never been used. Used is everything else. Bricklink's
terms specify what you can expect from used parts, but there are subjective grey
areas as to when condition defects need disclosure.

I think we could add another, simple grade: ex-AFOL. Ex-AFOL LEGO would have
only ever been used by a responsible party, and as such hasn't received much
playwear - it certainly wouldn't have formed a spaceship that crashed into a
wall, been dragged along a hard floor or been exposed to a hungry dog or child.
One encounters a lot of LEGO in ex-AFOL condition on BrickLink; I'm happy to
buy and use pieces in this condition. This, of course, assumes AFOLs just build
models, and don't play with their models... at least, not in the way children
do.

Used elements that have an unknown or non-AFOL provenance (ex-child, ex-yard
sale, ex-auction site) would get graded "other"; I'd prefer to steer away from
these pieces. I'd imagine all existing Used parts would be shifted to this condition,
with the sellers upgrading as needed.

The existing New condition would continue to be traded as is.

It's still a very subjective system. I would consider most of my childhood collection
to be in "ex-AFOL" used condition, just as I'm sure there are some AFOLs who
prefer using their teeth rather than a brick separator. Unless somebody can
come up with a universal, objective system for grading used parts, I think the
current system is fine.

Based on the post from BrickChick (http://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=483738),
we need a new LEGO Ambassador. With the recent retirement of Troy from the BL
"Community Overseer" role, I'd like to suggest that we formally recognize whoever
is selected as Ambassador as the equivilent of the Community Overseer role.
We could rename it "Ambassador" in BrickLink.

Here's why I think this is valuable -- this would allow the BL community to easily
find their Ambassador (http://www.bricklink.com/memberAdmins.asp) so they can
more easily interact with TLG through that person. It also gives the selected
Ambassador the approriate community recognition for the work that they perform.

-Jason

I like the idea of formally recognizing the ambassador, but I don't think the
community overseer position is really suitable. You'd essentially be putting
this person in charge of both the forums and chat, in addition to the ambassadorial
duties.
