Just read this in the Wall Street Journal:

April 1, 2024 9:31 AM PDT

LOS ANGELES—On Monday morning, Ynon Kreiz, CEO of Mattel, Inc., publicly announced
his intention to purchase BrickLink, Inc. from the LEGO Group.

Mattel is the owner of MEGA Brands, the manufacturer and distributor of MEGA
BLOKS construction toys. BrickLink is an online platform where users can buy
and sell LEGO®-brand products.

The announcement comes in the wake of the BrickLink administration's decision
to remove many older products from the platform, a decision which upset a small
minority of its clients.

After a series of negotiations and research from a neutral third-party market
valuation firm, the two sides have agreed on a final price tag of 2.19 USD.

The deal is expected to close by the end of July 2042, after BrickLink provides
the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration with some much-needed
paperwork in order to complete the deal.

In the meantime, Mattel plans to begin removing all LEGO®-brand products from
the platform and replacing them with their MEGA-brand equivalent, if available.

Kreiz has assured the public that all of BrickLink's 28 employees will be
retained for the forseeable future, including longtime administrator Russell
Callender.

Is there any kind of work around using the Courier API where you can put in different
box dimensions? The Priority Flat Rate boxes are smaller and more expensive
than the standard Priority boxes - and also come in a wider variety like the
7x7x6 box.

However it appears you're locked in to the predetermined Flat Rate dimensions.
I'm assuming these need to just be manually priced?

I use ALOT of the 7x7x6 boxes for one to two pound orders. It does require manual
pricing like you said. And the pricing is much more affordable than flat rate.

Maybe a question for admins.
Is there going to be a End Of Year form for the total US STATE taxes that passes
through our paypal account? These taxes count as sales and we pay fees as a result.
Currently, as soon as I process a order for shipping, I have to save state taxes
on a spread sheet.

Feel free to correct me if I am missing information that Bricklink is already
providing.

Thanks,
Imran

I’ve set a minimum buy for my store. Bricklink can’t account for the zones used
by USPS Ground Advantage. I added the minimum buy to avoid a situation where
the actual shipping costs more than the price of the set and the paid shipping
combined. $10 is higher than what many other stores do, so I’m wondering if adding
manual invoicing for small purchases could be worthwhile.

I think for your store and what you're selling , $10 min is quite ok.
I recently switched from a $2 minimum to a $5 minimum. I didn't mind the
$2 sales, but it was a lot of work to break even or lose money even. Even so,
it has not negatively affected my sales.

Hello, I'm new to selling, as of today I am at my 27th order. Should I change
the status of an order to shipped after I Drop it of at the post office or when
the package leaves the post office. An insight would be greatly appreciated

My general practice is to change the status to Shipped once I either hand it
over to USPS personnel or drop off the package in a USPS mailing box. This tells
buyers that the package is indeed on its way.

Same.

so a sand green 1x8 brick is 5.00$ used? definitely surprised me. just listed
one.

It looks like it was only included in a few sets, all of which were retired more
than a decade ago. So, it's bound to be expensive.

Dark brown 1 x 8 bricks are also very expensive for similar reasons.

I had to look at it for a few minutes just to make sure I was looking at the
right thing,lol.

could be 150 feedback from buying. Seller probably just started selling. you
can check a members feedback to see if its from buying or selling. I can't
advise on whether or not for you to buy.

Bricklink help is very vague. Can anyone advise what might be the issue?

Many thanks in advance.

  Here are the facts:
order placed January 8.
order paid via bank transfer January 8.

Order was marked 'Ready'

After 7 days of no action form the seller (status still 'ready' I asked
him if there was a problem with the order. No answer.

January 14 I started a OCR because the seller did not respond to my previous
message and I asked him to cancel.

January 18 still not a single line from the seller. I sent him a message that
he could either still ship the order, or cancel it. No response whatsoever.

So I'm left with an order that I have paid for and a seller that doesn't
respond.
Since I've contacted him a couple of times without response I feel it is
OK to name the name the seller and I warned him that I would do so if he didn't
respond to my complaint.

It's Brickiton and he has run into more problems, see his feedback https://store.bricklink.com/Royroy#/feedback

Store closed on January 15..........

I wrote above post without checking his recent feedback.
Now I did and this says all:

Could be a medical emergency that let the store auto lose after x amount days
and he can’t respond maybe?

I was thinking the same. It does seem to me that the store auto-closed. This
is one of my personal fears about running my store. That an emergency would pop
up and then un-shipped orders, NSS and store closed forever.
I wonder, does Bricklink admin review cases like these to reopen closed stores?
I hope everyone involved here gets their orders sorted out, or refunded at least.

Would potential buyers really object if a given set ahs mixed colors or is that
a no-no ?

What's your experience?

The dark gray and bluish gray are much easier to discern.

Same issue here. I have a fair amount of what I believe (lol) is light grey and
dark grey. I've had it for a few years now. And for the simple reason of
not wanting to sell wrong colors to customers, I've decided to no not sell
any at all, and keep it for myself.

My WWII ship models were on display this past weekend at at Pearl Harbor remembrance.

The earliest, the destroyer and battleship, were completed in 1996 before many
useful elements existed for use as AA guns. I have gradually replaced older
elements on the battleship and carrier, but left the destroyer with the original
parts. Note that at the time a torch holder was about the best I could do for
the 5" turrets. I still have to replace the 20mm black antennas with hands on
the battleship. The scale is about 6.67 feet per stud. The hulls separate into
two sections for carrying.

My father flew corsairs from the Carrier Essex in the Pacific. He was shot down
in March of 1945 and ditched at sea. He was rescued by kingfisher sea plane from
the Washington.

I love it. I was fortunate to be able to visit pearl harbor this past spring.
thank you for sharing.

A Buyer just left me a neutral complaining that I don't allow instant checkout.
Is that a legitimate and valid reason to receive less than positive feedback?

They paid a week later after the invoice, and then leave me a neutral. It's
not required to have instant checkout and I have not decided to go to instant
checkout. Do I have any grounds to request removal of this feedback, I am trying
to see where it is a fault of how my checkout process is setup which allows for
a complaint as such to be valid.

This can be frustrating for sellers. Sometimes it takes new buyers time to understand
the impact of negative/neutral feedback. In this case I would reach out to the
buyer and explain the situation, that some sellers prefer and have reasons for
manual invoicing. I am sure you were professional and shipped on time. So you
should reach out with that same professionalism and ask the buyer to remove the
feedback. Maybe their stance on the feedback has softened a bit as well, since
they are already enjoying their lego purchase.

Good luck.
