of a Placed order? I'm trying to use almost the exact same code that
I use to update the status of Received orders, but I keep getting a "The

It works fine for me, using PUT https://api.bricklink.com/api/store/v1/orders/12345678/status

where 12345678 is the order number.

Make sure you're using the PUT method.

The body should look like

{
"field": "status",
"value": "PACKED"
}

replacing "PACKED" with the status you want.

Hi Jonathan,

Does this work for you with an order that you placed in another store? What you
describe works, but only for orders that are placed in my store. That is most
likely what OurBricks also experiences. The exact same code for an order I placed
in another store returns a RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND. Sounds like a bug.

Just checking: Did you select 'Remarks' on the top right corner under

Update from my side on "EU Distance selling feature":
it seems the issue where you could not disable the VAT checkbox, when an order
came in via the distance selling feature, is fixed. I can now disable/enable
the check boxes on all orders. This means B2B transactions work again So
more great news, yippie! Thanks!!

  Dear all,

We are currently working on fixing this issue. The solution is expected to be
delivered on Monday.

The current workaround for sellers is as follows:
Turning off the feature that has 'Handling cost rule' set up or removing
the handling fee settings and manually adding a handling fee. The easiest way
to keep track of this is to leave 1 domestic and 1 foreign shipping method.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

We will keep you updated.

Hi Tanja,

As others have said, keeping such an impacting issue alive over one of the busiest
weekends of the year is.. well, frustrating and hard to understand. Especially
because it was reported on Friday well before the US working day started. Both
on the forum and in tickets to the helpdesk. Or should we report it in another
way?

We have several reports of customers that cannot checkout, and we can help them
doing it all manually (spending lots of extra time). And we will manage. But
we also know that, when 5 customers contact you, at least 20 others just walked
away. You can see it also in messages that others post. We have way less orders
that one would normally have. People cannot buy their Lego parts.

The workaround you proposed doesn't work for me. The weight band seems broken,
because it will always present the first weigh band, no matter what weight the
order is. Even with the handling fee removed. Then, still, customers get the
System Problem.

Also, I wonder how many IC enabled stores can work with just 2 shipping methods.
We cannot, especially not when weight band is not working.

On behalf of all impacted sellers, I ask you to step up the importance of this
issue. It should be P1.

Thank you.

It seems the packaging decision is also completely broken.

Reminds me Thom Yorke's Black Swan, I don't know why.

Oh please help.

Looks like all shipping methods are shown indeed. Then, if you pick one that
is invalid (and was supposed to be hidden) you get System Problem (Backend validates
too and says NO). Also weight is broken, it always shows 20 grams envelope shipment
even for 25 base plates.

The ticket I opened this morning still says "Waiting For Agent". Let's not
start a pretty busy weekend in this state please....

So just maybe a coincidence that customer ordered a boat hull today without package

it works and then I checked the forums and saw this post figured it was the problem....

But busy now, but will try later on if I can replicate the issue somehow.

Interesting, thanks. I had a "Min buy" restriction of 59 Euro on the "free shipping"
method, at Order restriction section. This combined with a Weight Band. Have
this for years, can't remember why I configured it like this but it worked
until this morning. Now I changed it to a Price Band and the problem seems to
be gone...🤷‍♂️

Ok but now one could still order a lot of Lego and be presented with a shipping
method for 20 grams max. So Weight Band based shipping methods are malfunctioning.
Will disable them for now. This is too confusing for buyers.

Just got instant checkout PayPal order, so its seems work again? Can anybody
confirm?

Yes, same here. But may I ask you, was that order over 60 euro (your Free Shipping
limit)? Because the order I received was over my free shipping limit and paid
by PayPal with IC. The problem seems to be related to some shipping methods,
in my case used for smaller orders. I have not changed anything in my shipping
methods for a long time.

In my case I have a shipping method "Free shipping" for NL customers on orders
over 59 euro. This method is now presented to all buyers, even for a 1 euro order.
When you want to check out, you get "System Problem". Most likely because the
Frontend shows all methods, but the Backend does a final check and refuses (luckily
or we'd be losing money on shipping). Because "free" is the lowest amount,
it's pre-selected and on top. That's why all smaller orders have issues.
When you manually select another option (that you meet all requirements for)
it works.

Someone showed me they can add 23 baseplates to a basket and select a shipping
method of 1 stamp (domestic 0,96 euro -- weight below 20 grams). Resulting
in a System Error (of course). Manually select a parcel and it works.

So hence my conclusion that the frontend is broken en shows all shipping methods
(no conditions filtered), but the backend does the checks and throws an System
Problem at you.

Hope this can be fixed asap! I've also opened a ticket some hours ago.

I got several reports from customers too, they get Technical Problem, see screenshot.

What is also interesting:
All shipping methods are always shown. So my Free Shipping is also displaying
without reaching the minimum amount. When you try, you get Technical Problem.

Manual invoice options do work fine.

Thanks for looking into it. Hope it is fixed asap!

This message will be sent via email to all sellers at the beginning of next week.
Please add any questions about this feature (along with any bug reports) to this
thread.

Bugs:

1. VAT is not calculated correctly. An item can't cost the same for a buyer
in Germany than a buyer in Hungary.

100€ sold to Germany would be 15.97 (19% VAT) leaving the seller 84.03 net
100€ sold to Spain would be 17.36 (21% VAT) leaving the seller 82.64 net
100€ sold to Hungary would be 21.26 (27% VAT) leaving the seller 78.74 net

The price of items should be calculated like this: (SellerListPrice/SellerVAT)*BuyerVAT

So for me it would be:
(100/1.21)*1.19 = 98.35 for German buyer
(100/1.21)*1.21 = 100 for Spanish buyer
(100/1.21)*1.27 = 104.96 for Hungary buyer

2. B2B transactions should be 0% VAT. As of now this is not possible because
when enabling the OSS the checkbox for VAT is disabled.

Just not disable it and we are good to work. VAT is responsibility of the seller.

These bugs are not suggestions, these are facts of how business work in Europe.

Thanks,
Sergio
Stellar Bricks

+1 Well summarized Sergio!

You can part it out once more, but then with negative quantity, like -1 (or -5

-So Bricklink decided to... remove the feature of B2B selling? Which is significant
activity here on Bricklink?

Sounds like some unintended side effect. There is no tax reason that I'm
aware of that would disallow this.

-...because of some unrelated tax issue?
-...although only for members who have that feature enabled?
-...without warning them?
-...and not a mention about all of this in advance; We're just removing b2b
selling and expect it will all be fine and nobody cares? Did it occur to Bricklink
that maybe people want to make an informed decision...?
-Or are people expected to do b2b only with offsite payment or add credits
or something like that to substitute the old feature? Is that the idea?

You can't. Once a store has distance selling, you cannot disable VAT via
checkbox because it is greyed out. So you'd need to credit the amount on
the order or so. Which would then mess up the VAT totals. Much easier to enable
the checkbox again

This really needs some explanation, they can't just casually drop this information
like that.

There might also be an alternative:
If you could improve the BL invoices / order overview page, in a way they are
compliant and actual invoices, then when domestic VAT is charged we might be
able to claim it back at the tax office that way. However, right now the BL invoices
for orders do not meet the legal requirements. Would be great to improve that
too

Well I always make proper invoices, and you can always ask sellers for one. But
AFAIK even with an invoice you cannot claim foreign VAT back domestically, hence
the 0% construction.

True. But now it'll have 21% Dutch VAT on it, for any order we place in an
EU store that is VAT enabled (and has distance selling). That I think is different.
Because indeed, for example 19% German VAT cannot be claimed back so easily.

On Amazon, doesn't matter whether I order on .nl or .de or .fr or .es or
.it I will always give me an invoice with 21% Dutch VAT, which I can claim back
domestically. Or, create a business account, which then invoices with 0% VAT.
But these guys know how a real invoice looks like.

Happily there was only one EU order at that time and we switch OFF the OSS promptly.

As regards the VAT calculation - we do it same way like you described. This is
the best way for both sides. Difference between VATs we credit (lower recipient
VAT) or charge (higher) as Additional Charges 2. Sellers cannot be responsible
for higher recipient VAT rates.

I've reported these bugs to BL yesterday and was just informed the issue
where a status change would switch the VAT off was fixed. Haven't tested
it though. But great this was resolved fast!

VAT checkbox is still disabled, that isn't fixed yet.

This is expected behavior - it is disabled by design. When Distance Selling is
enabled in the VAT settings, this box will be automatically checked and disabled.

Huh? Why? How to do B2B transactions with Distance Selling enabled?

Normally, if a EU based company buys from a company in another EU member state,
the VAT id is verified and a 0% VAT transaction is done. VAT accounting is then
delegated to the buying company and handled in the quarterly VAT report. Many
(if not all) of the larger EU sellers are companies. There is also a lot of design
agencies that build models that are also companies. We need this to do business
with each other.

I've done 0% VAT B2B transactions on BL for many years and would like to
continue doing so. It's a normal business procedure in the EU.

It also just works as-is. When you manually remove the disable property, it does
what it needs to do. Like it did for many years. Please reconsider.

There might also be an alternative:

  Hello,
just recognized there is implemented Distance selling / OSS registration on the
Store Management Page already.
As I did not see any official announcement about this up to now, can you please
confirm this can be used now (switch it ON and insert OSS registration data and
file)?
And how is the recalculation to EU recipient country VAT rate done?

PS: Because of the ordering "Technical Error" discussed last few days on the
Forum we tried to switch it ON and fill in requested data. Today one EU order
was received and it seems there is no recalculation of VAT from our VAT rate
to recipient VAT rate but only calculation of recipient VAT amount from order
total. This would mean the VAT difference is on our store account what is not
good and we will switch this off.

Thank you.

Yesterday I enabled this, but it looks like it's not fully ready:

Like you said above, the total is kept the same and then from that VAT is calculated.
It's not wrong per-se, but also not a nice way. Why should the seller receive
less when a buyer is from a country with a higher VAT %?
BL should instead take the price, remove the VAT % from the sellers country,
then add the VAT % of the buyers country. So net price is the same, price the
buyer pays is higher when the VAT % is also higher. Works like this on Amazon
(and BO) too.

Two bugs that need resolving asap:

1. The VAT checkbox is greyed out when someone orders? It then for example mentions
"Germany VAT 19%" which is nice. But sometimes I need to disable VAT and send
a new invoice, because buyer presents a valid VAT id and it's then B2B transaction.
If this is not possible any more we have a huge issue. This is used A LOT in
EU. For work-around, see bug 2.

2. Just edited an order status (from PACKED to READY) on an order that had VAT
checkbox disabled. After it saved, it sets VAT checkbox to OFF on all my orders
that had this new "distance selling". So now they show no more VAT and the totals
are lower (even the paid orders).. wow!

Had to use the Chrome inspector to remove the DISABLED flag from the checkbox.
Then click it and save it back.. pfff.. VAT is back. At least a work-around for
bug 1

Please contact me if you need help fixing / testing this.

Confirm this BUG from my side. It was happened to me as well but I was not sure
if it was my fault or BL did it.

Ja dat is het wel zo'n beetje. Stelt niet zoveel voor: Inloggen via belastingdienst

Als je de "distance selling" optie activeert op BL (hoop dat ze de bugs snel
