this is the case, how do I correct this? I don't see a way to correct it.

Thanks guys,

On the individual listing, set the bulk amount to "1".

I tried that, but when you go to my store, it still shows the item(s) with X
4 beside it.

Does anyone know if there is a way to combine multiple orders (they are from
the same buyer)?

Basically, a customer requested 2 quotes, accepted them, and now I have two orders
that did not batch together.

Like said in the thread above, it has been changed to A, added and deleted again.
I would like to see more proof before adding it again. The set has been sold
from 1984-1991 (source Collector's Guide), it might as well have come with
4085c. I always thought C came before B, but never found proof. After that I
thought B and C came randomly for years.

I would like to ask mwright5 at least to let us know the source and add images
to this request.

Diana

Hi Diana,

Unfortunately, Im not the original owner, however, the set is in nearly new condition
and was handled very little if ever. I'm happy to submit a few photos if
still needed.

Hello,

I submitted your request:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1359902

This part has been added and removed several times, so there may be some discussion
needed. Please do add comments to the thread regarding the source and condition
of your set.

Our catalog change process is complicated, but then, so is our catalog. If I
can ever help explain anything or just walk you through the process step-by-step,
just let me know!

Thanks,
Jen

Thanks so much Jen!

etc. Here are some things I am curious about how long-time sellers handle things:

- Where do you capture cost to cover shipping/printing supplies? Handling fees
or just additional shipping charge? other?

- Is there an expected packing method? That is, do buyers care if parts are in
freezer bags, sandwich bags, etc.? Does it matter if parts are all tossed into
the same bag or should they be separated by color?

- How often do you check shipping prices? USPS seems to fluctuate occasionally.

- If there's any other advice you deem important I'm all ears. Just trying

In hopes that you haven't invested in an expensive endeavor prior to finding

Hello,

I've been away for a bit and I'm worried that my auto checkout shipping
prices are way off now. Anyone know a good link that shows USPS shipping rates?
Not looking for the calculator, but more of a matrix that breaks it down by
zones. I did some searching online, but haven't come across anything as
of yet.

I have just listed a couple more mass lots and several partial sets. As mentioned

Very grateful to those that have participated in taking this Lego off my hands.
Additional lots coming soon. Very motivated seller here.

Hey Guys,

I'm finally throwing in the towel and the remaining Lego too. I'd like
to sell off my remaining stock as lots, but it is very difficult very difficult
to decipher a mass amount of things in a tiny image, which is all that is permitted
on this site. I'm thinking about uploading a single image for each lot, and
then I can email the image(s) directly to interested buyers as they inquire.
They would then be able to zoom in on the picture and get a better idea of what
is there.

Any suggestions?

P.S. I am more than happy to sell all of it in one shot. Unfortunately, it
is not uploaded, and therefore, no way for me to say with 100% certainty what
is in each lot. Again, a mass picture of each lot is ideal I think.

I'm relatively new to using Lego for anything other than playing with my

a wheel that already exists. How do you hang your Lego creations?

Also want to affix the pieces so they cannot be taken apart. Does anyone use
a particular product for this? It would need to be non-yellowing for my purposes.

Any help or tips are welcome!

Wow! Just seeing that cardboard cape boxes have been added to the catalog.
I usually would prefer to refrain from making a derogatory comment on something
so trivial, but I have to say, that is a new kind of stupid. Give me a break.

It is truly bizarre. There is this sleeve, for example:

Part No: 6268510 Name: Cardboard Sleeve 6268510 with Contents
*
6268510 (Inv) Cardboard Sleeve 6268510 with Contents
Parts: Cardboard Sleeve

which contains two minifigure capes. However, this sleeve which is called "Cardboard
Sleeve for Set 70837" doesn't actually appear in set 70837 since it contains
minifigure parts, which are listed with the minifigures. So we now have an entry
for a part that is not included in any sets and so is unlikely to ever be listed
in that way.

Then we have the same where the sleeves contain a single cape, for example:

Part No: 6259727 Name: Cardboard Sleeve 6259727 with Contents
*
6259727 (Inv) Cardboard Sleeve 6259727 with Contents
Parts: Cardboard Sleeve

Again it doesn't belong to any sets despite the name, since it belongs to
a minifigure.

It seems to be a case of making a rule then insisting on sticking to it for all
parts and sets, no matter how stupid the application of the rule is.

I've got a great idea! To follow suit, lets start cataloging and selling
the numbered plastic bags that the pieces come in in each box. Actually, why
stop there, lets catalog the empty collectible minifig poly bags too. After
all that's technically LEGO is it not? Give me a break!!!!!!!!!

  Hi everyone,

is that really necessary? With these cardboard sleeves in inventories it is no
longer possible to see the complete part list at once. You always have to open
an extra inventory to look up what is inside the cardboard sleeve (or sometimes
even two or more extra inventories). Not very user-friendly, imho...

I also don't see a technical reason why cardboard sleeves should be part
of an inventory. They are not listed in official part lists and if they contain
more than one part, adding them will bring the piece count down.

Examples:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=10220-1

Ah yes, thank you Paul for giving me my opening. I actually have submitted things
only to have it rejected. I'm sure I didn't fill out the form correctly,
not for a lack of effort, I just find the form to be convoluted as heck. If
it were a bit more user friendly, I think it make a huge difference in soliciting
volunteer submissions.

It's fairly easy.

For any part that is stickered, you will need to find the numerical identifier
of the last one to be issued, and for that, I use the add an image section to
find it.

Have 3 tabs up,

1st is the catalogue.
2nd is Add an image section
3rd is Add a Part section.

Say that you want to add a stickered 45deg 1x2 slope.

Find the highest number of that particular part you can quickly find.

input that number in the add image box, and it should show that part in a description.

Cycle through numbers by 10 until you get an error, and then decrease the numbers
until you then get a description, and you can then increase by 1 to get the next
sequential number.

Take a reasonable good picture of the part, preferably in daylight, or under
multiple lights, to eliminate shadows, and resize the pic to a Thumbnail on the
PC. (upload the picture, but don't submit the image yet)

Go to the add part section.

Add the number and identifier to the necessary boxes, along with the dimensions,
weight and such.

Use the same description(s) that other like parts have been added to the catalogue
before, and try to be accurate as possible.

Add the part to the catalogue.

Go back to the image section, and when you click on the verify , it should bring
up the item that you have just submitted, and you can then submit the corresponding
image.

I've done this with some of my mug collection, and will be doing others soon.

Have fun!

Paul, while I sincerely appreciate and value your input here, your making my
point. That process is nuts!!! It just furthers my point. IT has to be simplified
in order to be a useable tool. Again, this is not a knock on Paul, nor intended
to be offensive. I just really want to help, like many others, and the current
process takes way too much figuring out to be useful. I think we need to enlist
the Brickstock creator to come to the rescue on this.

Just remember, ALL of the pictures and set inventories are done by volunteers,

and what not, to add them to the catalogue.

I've done a few parts in my time, and to be honest, if I were getting paid

Try it and see....

I never found part 4073 in a set on a Sprue.

It appears you don't have any sealed sets of your own, but you are just copying
images from website (which actually is forbidden). Why delete part 4073 and add
these on a sprue?
My guess is that about 95% of all sets have these plates in it. Are you going
to add change requests for all sets.

I noticed there are some good changes concerning inventories, but this really
is going to far. I'm sure that I'm not the only one with this opinion?!

  Dear bricklink development team,

Currently the "Part Out Value" page shows the value in average, which may not
be accurate if any seller posts an item with very high, or inaccurate price.

To better represent the part out value of a set, we need to add the following
additional metrics:
1. Standard deviation of the Average value shown
2. Median value
3. Breakdown list of all items with the above metrics for each item. Additionally
we would like to see the count for each item.

Thanks
shovhans

Way too much attention is paid to average prices as it is. Just consider what
the average sold price is...

across markets/ countries

all stores big and small

stores that price fairly and those that charge add ons

all orders - single lot/ multiple lot

It is also dangerous to purchase based on part-out sold prices anyway as many
parts might have sold for an average prixe of X but in some cases there are many
100's of times of the part for sale than have ever sold!

Focusing on making the average "more accurate" is IMO a diversion and not a good
way of optimising inventory investment decisions. If it was just a mathematical
excercise to determine what to buy this place would be even more swamped with
inventory and prices would drop further.

I always vote no to these enhancements to averages for these reasons, I think
these average values mislead many.

Robert

Just take look at the last 6 months average and then figure out what your price
is going to be if you aren't satisfied with the average. And yes I know
the last 6 months avg is going to deviate over time, but your price (the amount
you expect to get for each piece) will not deviate unless you change your prices.

In short, the last 6 months avg is just a guage. Make your prices whatever you
want if you don't like the average price. If the avg is $100 for a parted
out set and you want $110, then upload everything with a 10% increase. It's
not rocket science.

We add the fact that the lots are damaged in the description so that people know

Would there be interest in the community to ask bricklink to add a tick box for

Right now we're at the point where we're wondering if we should open

I think you have a great idea. I have noted in a previous forum post that many

that they are aware of the discrepancy. Perhaps, things would be a lot simpler
if there was a category for items with discrepancies, or maybe it would complicate
things too much, but its interesting nonetheless. Regardless, I think it should
be a requirement to post your own picture of the item, instead of using the stock
photo, to help eliminate confusion.

I'm sorry to hear you had such a negative experience.

Appreciate that.

Just wanted to say though that negative feedback is a bigger thing than you probably think.

I'm aware that some sellers just go on and on with a pile of negative feedback.

So this is why I was concerned about this. After 2 weeks of no activity on this
purchase, I checked his feedback. I saw that in the past month, he had two or
three other instances of doing the same thing - multi-week delays. However,
the great majority of his feedback was positive. He was processing a whole bunch
of other orders while completely (knowingly, in my case) ignoring some.

This is what made me think, I could leave him negative feedback, but it would
just get buried under the negative feedback.

It made me wonder about my own purchasing attitude - why did I never check his
feedback? This is why I felt powerless.

I can only compare it to eBay and Amazon. On eBay, the seller rating is always
visible. On Amazon, it's visible as well.

On Bricklink, there is a number associated with a seller, but that number doesn't
indicate whether the seller has 100% positive feedback or 30% negative feedback.
It's just a number of feedback.

This is when I realized my negative feedback will do little to warn others about
how this seller behaves, especially after it gets buried under all the other
customers he does choose to serve properly.

I don't think providing negative feedback and even warning other customers
is the main concern here, if everything is as described in the aforementioned.
If you are missing that many pieces from a non-responding seller, then I would
consider filing a grievance with PayPal to get a refund. I've never had
to do this before, so I don't know what the process is. If you do find the
way to resolve this and get your money back, be sure to return the order to the
seller. In this case, I do not think a partial refund is going to happen, perhaps
others could answer more to this, but I don't think PayPal would do that.
I'm guessing its all or nothing.

Sometimes one negative feedback is just not enough, especially when you've
been thoroughly abused and belittled by a seller.

I made a big (for me) purchase from a seller - 1288 pcs in 61 lots.

The seller didn't do anything about, act on it, nothing, until a whole week
when I asked him about it. He said he will pack it in a few days and will ship
it the following week. That's two weeks after I paid for it.

The week after, I followed up on it again.

He said he's working on "all orders as we speak" and again promised shipping
it by the end of that week.

I waited again (this was over two weeks from payment), and still no movement.

In the meantime, he kept getting positive reviews multiple times a day from other
buyers.

This means he's been processing and shipping everyone else's orders,
but deliberately ignoring mine.

Day after day.

For over two weeks.

On week 3, I messaged him again.

This time he said he was packing it that day.

At the end of the day, I followed up again, he said he will mail it the day after.

Over three weeks after payment before he shipped my order, and only after I followed
up with him 4 times.

Just to add icing to the cake, the shipment was missing 83 pieces across 8 lots.

After all this, the most I can give him is one lousy negative review, severely
limited by the number of characters, to be drowned out by all the other customers
he dutifully served while persistently and consistently ignoring mine.

It's just nowhere near proportional to the treatment I got.

Email him immediately to let him know about the missing pieces. If he does not
respond, or respond with a reasonable resolution, hit him with a Non-shipping
seller in addition to the negative feedback. That will get his attention. What
you have described above is unacceptable and you must not settle.

Maybe I'm missing this option somewhere on the site, but I don't see
a way to quickly revisit a store you ordered parts from recently. I liked the
services of some of these stores so I want to go back to them to see if they
have the additional parts I need.

I would have expected a link on the My Orders page to see the seller's store,
but all I can find is detailed information about the seller minus a link to his
actual store.

I would also have expected a link to the stores I've ordered parts from under
recent activity, but again I don't see anything.

I did find a way to add the store as a Favorite, but that involved a decent amount
of work to copy the seller's id into the field to add them to the list just
so I can get a link back to that seller's store.

Is this an odd behavior to want to revisit a store?

Click on the little house icon next to the sellers name on your Orders Page...takes
you directly to their store

Also, you can hover your pointer over the "MY BL" icon, then click on "orders".
Then you can see all your orders, and of course the sellers from whom you purchased.

Honestly, it's imperfect because shipping calculation (and therefore full
checkout) should be the standard, not invoicing. Any time you have people negotiating,
you run the risk of bad faith (an invoice IS a negotiation, as any seller who
has had a non paying buyer must know).

Items should be excluded from the catalog/inventory unless they have an accurate
weight, and the system should default to generate a rate based on seller preferences
(add packaging weight, fee, whatever). Items could be selected by category or
lot as "bulky" thereby adding to the shipping rate or requiring a custom invoice.

If only it was that simple We need a full database of all packing size dimensions
of all parts.

There is nothing wrong with asking how they are shipping if it seems high. $5.00+
off the mark, adjusting for 5% fees they might pad it with, is unreasonable.

I don't fully understand what you're trying to say, but anyway, I think
it's fairly easy: Either we have instant checkout where the buyer sees exactly
how much they will pay, or it should be possible to break down the added charges
quoted in the invoice and possible to verify that it is 1:1 with what the store
has in its terms regarding shipping&handling. Any invitations to pay more than
what is stated, even if it is just 1 cent, should be illegal and quickly result
in a selling ban. But as long as it's visible to the buyer, the seller could
charge whatever they like and will find out of it is in line with demand or not.

Agreed.

Please consider showing each seller's postal code next to their state. It
is important information in helping to estimate shipping costs.

For example, I just made a purchase from a store in Missouri, so I Googled zip
codes for that state. The zip code that I selected told me that shipping would
be zone 4. However, had I known the exact zip code or city, I would have discovered
that it was zone 5.

The difference was only about $1.50, but that amount could add up fast when you've
placed as many orders as I have (1,472).

* Or the name of the city, if that is preferable.

It would be a lot more on a 50-60 pound order too

Yes, but don't most sellers have a chart and terms that reflects what the
price will be? For mine it doesn't matter if you live in the same town,
I charge the same thing as I would charge any Domestic Customer, etc. Based on
my experience buying on BL, my rates are very fair.

Thanks.

I mentioned something about this a while back, but I'm sure there has been
no shortage of suggestions for admin since the update. I think you guys do a
really good job and overall I have been quite pleased with the update, and responses
to issues. However, I would like to pose the following fallacy for consideration.

Like many sellers, I sell items of all conditions including those with playwear
and marks. This often doesn't matter to the customer if the price is right,
and they are aware of the discrepancy, however, I have had several customers,
especially those new to Bricklink, inadvertently purchase items with playwear,
paintwear, etc. Even though I include a disclaimer for these items in my description
for each one, the customers can't see the description unless they take the
time to click on the item, which opens up the item in the seller's store
and shows the full description. Otherwise, if they are shopping through the
wanted list feature, all they see is the default picture and description for
the part provided by Bricklink, which is generally attractive and new looking.
Even if they are purchasing a used item with discrepancies this is what they
see. As you might imagine, it would be quite disappointing to receive parts
that have play marks unexpectedly.

I was wondering if there would be a way to make the discrepancy note appear on
the items without having to physically click on it and open it up, because that
is quite time consuming for the buyer if they are buying a lot of things, and
many buyers are apparently not aware that they would need to do so in order to
see if the piece has discrepancies. Or, perhaps, a heading could be provided
on used items to let the customer know that they should click on the item to
see if it has discrepancies.

In any case, the current situation also poses an unfair problem for the seller,
which could result in unhappy customers and negative feedback. Currently, if
a new customer places an order with me that includes pieces with discrepancies,
I send them an an email before I invoice them to make sure that they are aware
that they have purchased items with discrepancies. This is a bit of a hassle
for me, and often ends in a canceled order. I suppose that is better than negative
feedback, but it seems that there should be a more streamlined approach.

Thank you for your consideration on addressing this problem. If anything that
I have mentioned needs clarifying, or if I am missing something, please let me
know as I am more than happy to discuss further.
