  Hello,

I was looking through my orders received and can only view all the orders I've
gotten since September 2023. However, I have sold many before then but for some
reason they aren't showing up. Do they get deleted automatically after a
while? I just want to get an idea of my gross income from all the orders I've
sent out.

Thanks,

MasonBrickStore

Yes, orders get deleted (purged) after 6 months - or at least the details of
what has been ordered.

You can still use the "Download" link on the bottom of the order page
to download information about all past orders (without details about what has
been ordered).

Hallo

Hello
I have a question about the 6 month average price.
If I set a part now at an average price, can I adjust it later after some
time to the then current average price?
After all, it rises or falls over time.
Is there an automatic or a tool to keep this up-to-date without me having to
make random comparisons?

LG Henk

Ein Tool das diese Funktionalität bietet wäre z.B. "BrickStore" - aber
wahrscheinlich auch andere wie etwa "BrickStock"

Not brickstock just brickstore

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I wrote "BrickStore" (because I use
it for this task) and then I wrote "most likely BrickStock as well" -
but good to know that it's not capable of doing so, thanks!

Choose:

a) yes
b) no

Keep in mind that it won't be visible anymore in the old set inventories
which variant has been used.

No. I think such comments might confuse and possibly put off some buyers. The
a, b, c type variants only really exist because they were catalogued here. If
they are no longer catalogued here then adding a comment that you will get a
'b' variant will be lost on many buyers and may leave them wondering
what they will get. It really depends on which images are retained to show the
part once merged. Where vintage parts come from known sets, I think I will comment
as i do now on the date range or the set they came from, if those parts attract
a premium price.

Those are good arguments against doing it.

  Hello everyone,

As a platform, we have decided to take a hard look at some of the mold variants
that we are currently asking you to recognize. For sellers, more variants means
extra sorting and extra work while pulling orders, plus the issues that arise
from variant misunderstandings.

For buyers, excess variants mean that it's harder to assemble a wanted list,
find stores, and ultimately obtain the parts you are looking for.

I have put together a quick Help page to outline these proposed changes:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2625

Notice the date on this is coming up quickly (Feb 1), so I'm not giving a
lot of time for discussion. I'm aiming for about 1 week of discussion and
then we'll give sellers 2 weeks to adjust the descriptions on affected items
if they wish to retain the distinctions.

I plan to construct a full FAQ page with answers to all your questions. This
will serve to inform users about what was done here in February 2024, and also
help point the catalog in the right direction in the future.

To get started, I'll list a few here:

1. This sounds like you're dumbing down the BrickLink catalog to make
it easier for new users. Is that what is going on?

Not really. There are many, many other variants we expect people to sort and
care about. These ones don't really seem to matter much, and some of them
(e.g., the minifigure heads) actually cause problems for the catalog that cannot
be corrected otherwise.

2. What if I really care about a certain variant that is going away? Can I
still buy and sell that variant?

Absolutely! You can add notes to your listings to make them as "determined"
as you wish. Buyers can still search within notes for extra details, or they
can simply observe them as they browse listings.

3. How do I know which exact variants will be merged? I only see one example
in each category.

Please ask in this thread and I can be very specific. Usually we are talking
about a handful of parts and the printed versions.

4. Has a merge like this ever been done before?

Yes, there was a precedent - the Headlight Brick with Slot:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1016584

It was marked for deletion a few years ago and was finally merged last August.

5. Are these the only parts up for consideration, or are there other variants
that will be merged as well?

This is all for now. Based on how well this goes, we may elect to remove other
entries later. However, we will keep all functional variants and important cosmetic
variants.

I would love to have a catalog as detailed as possible (e.g. the bottom pin form
of a regular 1 x 2 plate, either filled or with a hole), while at the same time
have this level of detail optional for e.g. new users or user who don't care
about it.

Something like a "main item" (e.g. the current "undetermined type"
that, when you add it to a wanted list, is considered to be the same as all "sub
items". So they should be linked somehow. Like "add the undetermined
type" can be any of the "sub items" when you use the wanted list
for buying, or when you want a specific sub type, you just add the sub type to
your wanted list.

Just dreaming

There are 2 new versoins:

30091b Minifigure Breathing Apparatus, Scuba Regulator and Air Tank with Bar Holder

I was able to identify 2 of the 4 I have as "without Bar Holder" (top
and right on my pictures), but what are the other 2? The slot is to narrow to
fit a regular bar, even with force.

In the pictures of bricklink the "with Bar Holder" pictures show that
the "holders" are not that big as the ones in my pictures.

Thanks!

Are you sure they are original LEGO parts? I don't think I have ever seen
any like that, and the molding inside the tank looks pretty rough for a LEGO
part.

Hm, most likely they are LEGO, but I can't be sure, there is no LEGO logo
(not even on the ones without Bar Holder.

But both versions I have have those 3 circles at the front-bottom of the neck-thing
and also otherwise (from above), they look exactly the same.

Can confirm and it annoys me as well.
Every parcel I get from them was re-packed/taped by the delivery company (DPD),
because their bio-degradable tape simply doesn't seem to be strong enough
to hold everything together during shipment.
And yes, I don't remember when I received the last order from them without
any damages on the Lego Set boxes.

Hi,

It happens from time to time.  I think it’s due to a conversion issue (a few
millicents left hanging).

You can contact the Help Desk here: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/help/contact.page
or here: https://helpdesk.bricklink.com/Main/ (you need to re-register with the
same address as on the main site).

The second site allows to follow your tickets (even if opened the other way).
(Note that the tickets are shown as “closed” as soon as they get an answer.
That doesn’t mean they are closed / dismissed / rejected / ….  It’s just how
the UI works.)

Got an answer from the support team:

-----
Hello,

Your account has been credited $.01.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Ray

So there was something to fix as it seems.
Thanks!

There is a way to search for 3 parts at once, which is already a good start:

Yes. In fact, we just changed that page to show 3 slots by default because people
didn't know the page could be expanded to search for up to 3 items.

Nice! I wondered why it's that easy to get to the page when I wanted to look
for it to get the link. Good change to display the 3-slot version as default,
thanks!

What does that mean?

"Drive thru" is BrickLink for "shipping notification". The term
is a bit dated. I guess at the time BrickLink was made, online shopping was still
relatively new, so the language of ecommerce wasn't totally standardized.

The whole process is archaic. You need to add the order number to get to the
drive through message. Why not add a button on the order to click drive thru.

So many things still are cumbersome on this website. But all they are focusing
on is making profit rather than make things easier for sellers. But that is not
unique to BL.

Drive Thru (Package) Icon

And also:

I just checked, and I have the Drive through icon enable but its not showing
on the orders. Thats why I said what I said.

It only appears for orders with current status "Shipped". Is this the
case for any of your orders?

accept? Would they accept HS Code 95030060 Sets or 95030080 Sets for Construction
Toy?

The set doesn't have any metal, or motors, or batteries included.

Or is there another HS Code that will be accepted?

The reason why I ask is that I sent the above listed set on code 9530009 as 'toy'
or 950300
for short, and customs rejected it and the parcel was returned to me.

I would really appreciate your assistance in this matter.
