for some reason, Brickstore has some parts with an extra space in the name when
I download to excel. Some examples would be:

Technic, Axle 4L has 1 extra space between Axle and 4L
Wheel 8mm D. x 6mm has 1 extra space between Wheel and 8mm
Bar 4L (Lightsaber Blade / Wand) has 1 extra space after Bar
Wedge, Plate 2 x 2 Cut Corner has 1 extra space after 2 x 2
String, Cord Thin 50cm for some reason has 3 extra spaces between Thin and 50cm

this is only a few of the many instances I've come across.

Brickstock had this issue the entire time I used them. But I switched and noticed
that Brickstore did not have this issue. when looking directly at the part
pages, there's no extra spaces in the names there. Nor do I see this when
downloading the catalog from Bricklink. I did notice that the description of
the item in the "info" box does NOT have the extra space.

Anyone know what the deal with the extra spaces are?

I standardized all of them just a couple of days ago because they had length
dimensions that were undefined.

Axles are similar to hoses in that the length is what is being searched for.
I could search for any hose in the catalog by using a length dimension with the
"L" unit. I could not do the same for axles. I thus made it possible to search
for axles using the "L" unit.

Names of items in the catalog can change quickly, so I would suggest that you
do not link data to the names, but to the item numbers. Item numbers change much
less frequently.

Cheers,
Randy

I can appreciate that items in the catalog can change quickly, but I don't
think I'm unreasonable to suggest that you can at BARE MINIMUM make a post
in the catalog section of the forum stating, "hey dudes, I ninja edited over
50 entries. They won't be in the parts change log"

Can you at least plan on making a blanket change? Maybe post in the catalog
forum, "hey guys, In a day or two, we are changing the every one Technic Axle
names." Or "hey people, on the 8th of every month we are going to make a slew
of changes." This will at least give those who it will effect some time to plan
accordingly.

I would suggest that you do not link data to the names

you know what? some of us do. What's the point of having it if it's
so unreliable that you suggest we don't use it. (part numbers change too,
so having the text data helps find those changes as well) I find it frustrating
when all the sudden I have many errors in my spreadsheets. All I ask is that
you let us know when you do it. At least when you changed all "handles" to "bar
handles" they show up in the change log. (Which I still find stupid because
all handles, except a very few, are bar handles. Why not just change the non-bar
handles to something else?)

It wasn’t that way August 27th (last time I downloaded the catalogue).

So it might be so recent that there isn’t any log yet

There is no log if an Admin edits directly the name of a part without using the
change request form.

Seems they standardized all the axles, I tried my best sometime ago.

It's not that I mind the changes, but there should at least me some kind
of announcement when they blanket change these things. It's become very
annoying when my spreadsheets all the sudden come up with hundreds of errors.

  shouldn't Part # 65133 be a hinge instead of a plate, Modified?

It has the Hinge Fingers. Most Bricks with them are in the Hinge Category.
I couldn't find any plates, bricks, or tiles with fingers that were not Hinges.

Yes, it should.

I have added it to the list of items that will be moved on October 1, 2021:
