  Dear BrickLink members,

Next week we plan to deploy a tax solution for New Zealand Goods and Services
Tax (GST). This change will be affecting sellers and buyers in New Zealand as
well as all sellers who are selling to this country.

Here is a summary of changes to come:

1. For orders that are imported into New Zealand, BrickLink will collect and
remit GST on items in each order that are below or equal to NZD 1,000.
2. Sellers must have at least one on-site payment method available in their store
to process all orders where tax is collected by BrickLink.
3. Starting with the upcoming January 5th billing cycle, New Zealand sellers
will have GST applied to their seller fees.
4. Registered business sellers in New Zealand will now have the option to add
their registration information in their store settings. For these sellers, GST
will not be added to their monthly fees.

For more details, please see our new help page here: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2617

Additionally, will be sending out emails to all affected members.

Thank you,
The BrickLink Team

Does this mean we will no longer get charged VAT on our purchase (UK, EU etc)
and that we don't pay tax in the selling country since we are paying tax
to our own government?

If I place an order today in a UK store I can expect to pay UK VAT on the value
of my order, it seems from the email I received today that after Jan 5th I will
also pay NZ GST as well as UK GST on that order, that does not seem to be right
according to my understanding of tax law and international treaties.

I have bought a kit aircraft from an American manufacturer, I do not pay US taxes
on that purchase, it is shipped tax free, I pay tax to NZ authorities before
its released by customs.

These originally bionicle parts started life as X346 but last time I sold them
they had been renumbered in catalog as 41669, much easier to search, just sold
five and they are vack with the X346 identity.

Can you make up your mind please, as a current part it is much better to have
a numeric part number in my opinion.

I have one trans light-blue in stock, will leave it in my database as 41669 for
now

Any idea why this had not been inventoried yet, did see it as pending a while
back but now its back to no information. I think it might have some useful parts
in it but not sure.

Why on earth has this catalog number changed, usually the a suffix is because
a new variant has emerged but that isn't the case here, does not make sense.

This part appears in 59 different colors. Why it's not in the top of the
list of Catalog Statistics Parts Appearing in Sets in Most Colors?

Because its attached to a Torso and not a separate part in the sense that its
traded as such, they only sell as replacement parts or if someone is building
a custom minifig.

Not.
The hinge brick and the hinge plate always came separated.

This assembly can’t be New: you have assembled the parts yourself, that’s the
definition of Used.

Rubbish, putting two brand new, unused parts together does not make them used.
I list the assembly as new if the parts came from a sealed set

Once the standards are defined, then we can look at adding or removing any assemblies
which do not fit those standards.

Poorly worded, obviously. We can look at adding additional assemblies and/or
removing additional assemblies which do not fit those standards. There will
be a forum discussion about this when the time comes and member input will be
considered.

In the meantime perhaps the decision to mark 3930c01 as pending deletion in the
catalog should be reversed as its commonly sold, is in many new sets and I need
the ability to add this part to my store inventory in a new state which I can
not do while marked for deletion with the exception of white which I had in both
New and Used conditions prior to the change.

Going back to discussion on alternate parts and the stupid decision to remove
the 3930c01 hing brick assembly from catalog we have above part, the glass fits
four seperate window frames so does that mean each one of those will have multiple
variants for glass colour.

Needs some consistency, the hinge brick parts are available seperately but are
usually in sets in the same colour, hence the assembly as a standard catalog
item. Glass on window frame is not required and will generate lots of unneeded
extra parts for catalog

Although the info you are lookin for isn't on the summary page, the info
is there on both the individual order page, and the email that BL sends to you
notifying younof the impending order. I usually read one or both before invoicing.

There are about 26 different things you can show on summary but not this one,
would only be one column wide and I know its on individual orders but it would
be nice to see when order first appears at pending stage.

This line of text used to appear in the old version when visiting a shop and
searching using the wanted list(s).

Is this info located somewhere in the new version and I'm just missing it?

If not, can we get it added back? It was very useful! Thanks!

Echo above, used to be easy to follow item on wanted list to a store then click
on link that shows everything in their store on my wanted list, this has gone,
please bring it back.

Another option could be ability to post feedback for multiple orders like you
can do on ebay where you scroll down and put in feedback then post it all together.

Thanks for comments, found the direct link but still getting used to navigation
which has changed a lot. I'll try the new ones but quicker right now to use
link in bookmark bar.

Does not appear to be an option to specify payment currency for Paypal onsite
payments, this defaults to currency my parts are listed in. My parts are priced
in USD, although as I'm now in New Zealand payment is preferred in NZD. I've
had to turn off this feature as it caused problems both times it was used after
enabling it for my store.

LOL

This has existed for years now
Check 'store password'

Cheers, Eric

I am asking for facility if store is OPEN, current bypass password only applies
if store is closed, needs to be separate setting
