Hej.
Jeg har fået et gavekort på 600kr til LEGOshop.com.
Er der en venlig sjæl som vil overtage det?
(Jeg sender koden og du sender 600kr på mobilepay.)
Hilsen, Anders

Back in the day, when hard drives were measured in millibytes, it made sense
to purge Forum posts from time to time. But modern servers have vast storage
capacity. All the typing every member could ever do in their lifetimes won't
fill a hard drive of even modest size.
Purging discussion threads destroys 'institutional knowledge' and as a result
we have the same discussions over and over.

Currently there's a thread about sending plastic toys to Italy.
This comes up about once a year, and each time the previous discussion has been
lost and has to be recreated from scratch. This certainly uses more server resources
than simply linking to an existing discussion, but more important is the loss
of knowledge.
We have institutional amnesia, deliberately induced. It's a set back.

Thanks for reading.

Yes please.

But wait. I believe this has been brought up before.

  Hello Admin,

Can we PLEASE put a yes or no radio button in STORE TERMS page that says if seller
has smokey bricks in their store.

You already have the means of fighting this problem.

If you (and others who feel strongly about this) would
leave non positive fb and explain the problem, you could
warn others about smoke/spiders/clone parts/pubic hairs/whatever.
By leaving +fb you indicate that everything was fine.

How unamerican!
A frontal attack on the free market.
Next thing you'll be suggesting fixed prices
set by a central commitee or what?

But seriously:

All a reseller would have to do to circumvent this,
would be to have their spouse open a buyer account.

Once order is marked complete the system should send a note to the buyer and
seller to leave feedback for the order.

Of course unless feedback has already been left for the transaction.

Simple system, effective and non forceful.

This already exist - sort of.

I believe the default is to show "Orders completed, feedback not yet posted"
on the "MyBrickLink" page.

We just got a nice private email from another poster.

I would like to suggest if a person uses the Break a Store rule that negative
feedback not be allowed.

Thank you.

What Foster said.

In addition:
As a buyer I even find this kind of neg fb to be valuable
info about the poster. If I browse a store and discovers that
they have LEFT a lot of negs. that are counterbalanced by
good replies, I'll probably go shop somewhere else.

So if someone leaves you a neg and you poste a good reply,
it will backfire on him.

September.
Without sounding rude..... the reasons are known to all of us why, but no suggestions
have been implemented since September so is the new Admin going to do them or
is Bricklink now running as good as it is ever going to run with no more implemented
suggestions?

Dear Santa.
I know you're a busy man. But with all respect:
If I'm not mistaken the idea is, that I should make wishes and you
should fulfill them. I have not been completely satisfied with your
service lately.
Sometimes I wonder if you are listening at all. Please let me know if
I should bother to send you my wish list in the future.

Thor

But what about the fb you recieve? Is that a part of the entire transaction?

A seller recently shipped me some wrong parts even though I had begged
them to check up front. The seller apologized and refunded the parts.
Order completed. Time to leave fb.

I was in a neutral-fb-mood as I still had waisted my time and lost money
on shipping - and most important: They failed to check the parts. But the
seller had already left me +fb. So I evaluated the entire transaction and
let the sellers fb influence mine. I decided not to leave any fb at all.

I explained this to the seller after witch they removed their +fb. So they
let my (missing) fb influence theirs.

But hey! Based on the entire transaction I would now be inclined to leave
a neutral (I did not) , and the seller would then ...

Yay! I like the sound of that. Like the Central Committee
of the USSR and The Chinese Revolutionary Committee.

But seriously:

From a programmers point of wiew I guess it would be rather
easy to give a member access to modifying/deleting listings.

So if Admin had felt a need to call for help from one or more
"Listmins" he probably would have done so long time ago.

If someone believes that the new Admin is too shy to ask,
then why not simply send him a message and volunteer for the
new position?

  Hello.

I would like to see the BL system post an automatic email/BL contact to the buyer
AND seller once an order is marked complete.

Isn't the drive through email doing just that? Just pimp up the wording et voila!

On the "My Action Items Settings" page all options are checked per default.
So buyers are also automatically reminded to change status and leave fb.

Unless people stumble across BrickLink by accident, they won't find it: it's
hardly linked to anywhere else. Is that good for the future growth of the site
and sales?

A rough calculation based on the last 3 years shows that
the current growth is exponential at about 30% per year
both in number of new members and in orders placed!

Is it to prevent reading (almost) the same suggestions again and again?

Gee. I missed that one in my search.
At least we can vote for each others suggestions.
