Same feeling exactly. As much as I love the 100% feedback score our store has,
I will admit that we have made mistakes that should have received neutral feedback
at some point. On the other hand, If you have 1000 positives and 10 neutrals.
Should you still have 100% feedback score? I'm not sure myself how to approach
the feedback system. To compound on that thought, When ordering I never bother
to check a sellers feedback rating so... Does it matter? Does everyone take the
time to check? I don't know.

-Andy

For me as a seller the best meaning for neutral would be for example
that in worst scenario there were problems with order but
it was easy to work on the issue with seller but the buyer
is not 100% satisfied because he/she got only a refund not the part
he/she needed. I wouldn't mind to get a neutral in those
situations if this feedback wouldn't change the percentage.

Sometimes I buy parts on BL and I always look at feedback.
It gives you a lot of information about the seller.

agulus’s input in this thread has reignited a persistent and nagging thought
of mine: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1176265

It’s a valid point made by member agulus, that has unfortunately been ongoing
as an issue, in the face of contrary input towards the feedback policy.

I’ve brought it up in the past, that a neutral should be just that, neutral,
and not effect your feedback percentage number displayed, up or down.

Beyond the obvious reasons, is the fact that there are many newish buyers that
mistakenly see BL’s neutral, as neutral. Silly people Meanwhile, it continues
to result in an amount of havoc in that arena of BrickLink.

I look forward to reading your honest thoughts

-Cory

I have to admit that I made a mistake by writing that
neutral gives -1. I't doesn't! I went too far because every time I see
a post about neutral feedback my feelings
toward this issue are building up while I'm waiting for my first one

I would like to suggest creating
Original Box Entry for Games in Gear.
The same way it is in sets.

I have some boxes and I see other people
selling boxes only as incomplete gear
and it decreases 6 months average.

  Hi,

as a buyer, I found having only two choices for parts condition is far too basic
and not useful, mostly for buyers, but also for sellers who seek accuracy and
honesty regarding their inventory.

I mean, for now a seller can only pick new or used, but pretty much everyone
has his/her own standard and I got some used parts which are like new, some others
which are closer to the one way ticket to trash, if you see what I mean .

It's not good nor practical to force seller to put actual picture(s) of all
the used parts, both hobbyist and professional has better use of their time I
guess.
Plus, asking for every single part before ordering is not good either, some sellers
didn't took time to reply to potential buyer's question already.

And when seller put description, it's quite subjective, one adjective is
far to describe actual shape of a part: "bite marks, yellowish", ok but how many
marks, how deep ?
how much "yellowished" is the brick ?
Some may claims "quite good", some other "I can't send them to trash".

A quality score could be added to a used part. It would be used as well to set
the sell price, as trash-ready used parts can lower the infamous "average 6 months"
and lower ALL prices, which is very unfair for like new parts.

Any thoughts ?

I agree wit you 100%. Last year I decided to sort used parts and
label them in 3 categories: 1) Like new 2) lightly used 3) visibly used
I also had 4th category "filler" for a while but I decided to remove it
because as you say it lowers the 6 months average.

I have to say that I got feedback from a couple buyers that they found
labeling condition of the used parts very helpful. And there was people
who were buying "fillers" also.

Every once a while someone write a suggestion post like yours,
but nothing happen

Got it Thanks! For me it was first time when I saw
mixed variants in one set.

It doesn't matter. It is quite common situation. In our inventory system
alternate variant has always the same quantity, because frequently in set's
copies ratio of part variants can vary, some can have only one variant of part,
some as your copy can have mix of two variants and some copies will have 2, other
3, another 4 etc. of one variant and respectively 8, 7, 6 of other variant, so
we would be overwhelmed by many possible combinations.

I just bought new sealed: [Gear=3862]

and I found out that there were "mixed" 2 types of one part:

2 parts (tan):

Part No: 4865 Name: Panel 1 x 2 x 1
*
4865 Panel 1 x 2 x 1
Parts: Panel
8 parts (tan):

Part No: 4865b Name: Panel 1 x 2 x 1 with Rounded Corners
*
4865b Panel 1 x 2 x 1 with Rounded Corners
Parts: Panel

instead of 10 of one type only.

I think that putting a note for the sellers to be careful
about that "mix" in the Game would be helpful.

Agnes

In this inventory second variant is in the alternate section. This way in the
inventory is showed that in this set both variants can occur. No other notes
is needed.

A lot of online stores in US are giving "promo code".
It can be any word for example "XMAS". You can write it
into "Promo code" box during check out and which gives
you dedicated to it discount.

  Hi,

Not sure if this has been brought up in earlier suggestions but I am giving it
a go anyway.

I would like to see the possibility of creating a coupon which is valid for all
buyers. Right now this is only limited to a certain username.

Kind Regards,

Simon
