I'm building set 7706 from the instructions pdf from lego.com and the parts
I'm using are different than the inventory on bricklink. One example is a
white 1 x 4 tile. There are other differences but I'm not familiar with bricklink
magic. I hope one of you are.

This set was redesigned during production. The notes are at the very bottom of
the inventory page. They are...

Redesigned during production.

There are at least two different versions of instructions for this set. The differences
for the second version are indicated in this inventory in the Alternate Items
section with Match ID 99.

Quick overview of redesign: In the cockpit module various parts are added to
strengthen the build. In the track assembly two black 3708 Technic, Axle 12 are
replaced by four black 6558 Technic, Pin 3L with Friction Ridges Lengthwise,
enabling the tracks on each side to move independently from each other.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are numerical errors in the parts lists in the instructions for both versions
of this set. The early version of the instructions incorrectly lists only one
pair of minifigure legs, but two are included. It also lists 13 dark bluish gray
32291 Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Perpendicular Double, but only 12 were
included. The later version of the instructions incorrectly lists one black 6558
Technic, Pin 3L with Friction Ridges Lengthwise, but 18 are included.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The dark bluish gray 32523 Technic, Liftarm 1 x 3 Thick in the later version
of the set has also been found in dark gray. The black 6538b Technic, Axle Connector
2L (Ridged with x Hole x Orientation) have also been found in the set as 6538c
Technic, Axle Connector 2L (Smooth with x Hole + Orientation).

Thanks for whittling it down yet further, Sylvain! Just need to figure out why
my images are "now considered wrong"

The .jpg extension actually covers different formats and subformats.
It can be quite complicated to find the guilty ‘option’ to explain the problem.
I don’t think it’s necessary to go further anyway because all the subformats
should be accepted (or, at least, there should be a useful/clear error message)
and knowing it’s the format and not the size or a handling error should be sufficient
for the devs.
But, at worse, they can ask for an example file.

Thank you for helping me understand more fully. I'll stop trying to troubleshoot
that and move on to other issues needing my attention. Thanks again.

Popsicle,
Have you been able to figure out what is wrong with your pictures and why you
were getting the "403 forbidden" error? I am getting the same error message
and would like to fix it so I can upload some pictures.

This week I made a very expensive mistake in Bricklink. I'm so angry with
myself. Nobody did anything "wrong". I just wasn't savvy with knowing
the ropes.

I'd like to spin it positive and see your tips so others can avoid pitfalls.
Or maybe just take a moment to laugh at our silly selves.

So, what Bricklink lessons have you learned.... or possibly had burned into your
brain?

My biggest mistake was to order an item thinking the store I was ordering from
had the part listed correctly. I receive my order and realize the part was the
wrong variant. I contact the store, but they do not have to correct part.

This was

Part No: x264 Name: Rubber Band Large (Square Cross Section)
*
x264 Rubber Band Large (Square Cross Section)
Parts: Rubber Band & Belt {Yellow}
for

Set No: 7415 Name: Aero Nomad
*
7415-1 (Inv) Aero Nomad
111 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 5 Gear, 2003
Sets: Adventurers: Orient Expedition
and I needed 3. I had also placed 2 other
orders at the same time and when those orders arrived, I was horrified to find
that those stores also sent me the wrong part. So now I had 3

Part No: x89 Name: Rubber Belt Large (Round Cross Section) - Approx. 3 1/4 x 3 1/4
*
x89 Rubber Belt Large (Round Cross Section) - Approx. 3 1/4 x 3 1/4
Parts: Rubber Band & Belt {Yellow}
that
I didn't need and none of the shops I had ordered from had the correct part.

I found another shop that had the x264 listed and contacted them to verify they
had the correct part. They assured me they did and so I ordered. It was the wrong
part again but this time the store actually said they would source it for me
and send it on to me when they got it. That part finally arrived and again it
was the wrong part.

I did finally find a shop that had all 3 but they didn't ship to the USA,
so I contacted them and asked if they could send me a picture of the 3 parts
they had listed. They did, and they were the correct ones, and that shop owner
was willing to ship an order to me!

All told, it cost me somewhere between $40-$50 to finally get the 3 parts I needed.
The moral of the story is, IF you need a specific variant of part, contact the
shop and ask them to verify the part variant and maybe send pictures to prove
it is correct.

Yes, my question is where this specific color (Pearl Dark Gray) came from as
it's not in the catalog at all. Perhaps it was an alternate possible color

The 2 swords in set

At least those were the colors ours came with.

Most stores use some kind of container storage system like Akro Mills or Sterilite
drawers. Others use bins or shoe boxes. Some use baseball card boxes to store
minifigures.

You should go to YouTube and watch some videos on how people store their LEGO.
It is very informative.

patient but wondered if there was anything I could do to help improve sales?

I would really appreciate any suggestions you good folks have and look forward
to hearing from you.

Thanks

Hi Adam,
Welcome to Bricklink!
The best way to get sales is to increase your lots, IE: store inventory. More
product=more sales.
Most people on Bricklink are looking for parts so selling sets is a waiting game.
Think of it like this...
500 people log into Bricklink. Of those 500 people, only 25 are looking to buy
sets. There are over 19,000 sets listed on Bricklink of which you have 22. Your
store is 1 of 17,799 stores currently open on Bricklink and there are currently
2,873,530 sets New & Used being sold in those stores. The odds of someone looking
for one of the sets you have listed is very small.

To increase your chances, you need to add product to your store.
Other sellers have listed their products at a lower price than the 6-month average
when they are first starting out to help them gain feedback and customers as
well as sales.

I wish you the best in your journey on Bricklink!

Why do shops sell

Part No: 42687 Name: Legs Mechanical, Super Battle Droid - Solid between Feet
*
42687 Legs Mechanical, Super Battle Droid - Solid between Feet
Parts: Minifigure, Legs, Modified {Pearl Dark Gray}
when the clip is broken?

This part is not usable at all with a broken clip. I also believe that the price
of this piece gets inflated due to sellers selling a broken part.

I understand that sellers have the right to sell anything LEGO in their shops
as long as it is clearly stated in the description if something is wrong with
the part.

Seriously though, who is going to buy a useless part? It cannot hold up the
Super Battle Droid or any other droid.

Can someone please explain this to me?

the color is not dark gray as shown in the picture on the left. I would call

So what color should I choose to find brownish gray parts?

If you wish to match the color of the track sleeper

Good Luck!

  Hi,

Read the help pages about sellers not responding, and it seems to be I have to
wait 7 days to report that on my order, fair enough.

But the help page seems to imply another 2 weeks before more action? Will I get
my money back or not? It was supposed to be for a present, and now my money is
tied up it seems.

Thanks for any help,
Lozza.

Hi Lozza,
7 days is the waiting period before you can file an NRS or an NSS. Once you have
filed a NRS or NSS, you have to wait 7 days to give your seller a chance to respond.
The seller should reach out to you and hopefully be able to work with you on
solving any problem.

IF at the end of this time the seller has not reached out to you OR the NRS /
NSS has not been resolved, you can go to your payment institute and file a claim
to get a full refund. You should also be able to finalize the NRS / NSS on Bricklink
at this time.

retiring.

The bus is almost finished and looks good in itself, but I realize that a lighting
kit would have been the detail that makes the work even more perfect.

Have searched a bit and found different options.
Does anyone have experience with the various kits on the market?
Does the quality differ between different brands?
Are some brands easier to install than others?
Other opinions?

The brands I found that seem serious are:
Lightailing
Game of Bricks
Light My Bricks

I have only bought from Light My Bricks. They are fairly easy to install as they
include instructions on how to do it. They are a little more expensive IMO, but
their product is high quality.

Hope this helps.

  Hi everyone,

I am playing around with the idea of renting a space in a heavily trafficked
tourist spot that brings in a lot of families. I want to have a place that people
pay an entrance fee and walk through looking at large scale builds. We would
change up the displays through the seasons and keep it interesting for return
customers.

My question is do you think I would have any trouble with Lego? I wouldn't
use Lego in the store name and we wouldn't sell Lego sets. It's just
a place for families to enjoy when they are enjoying time together.

I already build large displays and so many people of all ages are into Lego that
I think a train display with lots of cool builds would do well. I just don't
want to put in a ton of time and money and have Lego send me a cease and desist.

I don't know who to reach out to and ask.

Thank you.

Burns Brick House

As long as you do not use any copyrights of LEGO including the name, or selling
ANY LEGO product without permission, they cannot object. After all, you are the
one who bought all the bricks the displays are built of so those bricks are now
your property, and you can use them as you see fit including displaying them
to the public.

I am not a lawyer. These are just my opinions on the matter.

Sorry for my grammar. I can't English at the moment.

When shipping with USPS, they will charge based off weight AND size of the package
as well as how far the package has to travel. Any large box is going to be shipped
in a LARGE package which will increase the shipping costs regardless of the weight.
I do not know how UPS or FedEx work, but those 2 companies are generally more
expensive than USPS.

I personally would only use manual for large boxes so you can do research to
find the lowest price for shipping for each one based on the buyer's location
before sending an invoice. You could do all the research before listing them
to have an idea of how much it would cost to ship to a close state and also the
farthest states. Make a list for each box you are going to sell so if someone
inquires about shipping for that box, you will only need to know what state they
are in, and you can give them a ballpark figure.

Hi,
I tried to find, but nothing...
The black plate 6x12 appears in 129 sets.
These 2 parts should appears as alternate in the inventory of the concerned set.
I thought it would be in late 2000 sets, like in Ferrari or Lamborghini sets...
There is no hint on the paper ?

Nicolas

Also the plates in the picture are white.

Hi all,
Is there a page on Bricklink that lists the supplemental sheets for instructions?
I have one such sheet, but it does not have any identifying number or date other
than a 7-digit number at the bottom left corner. When I type the number on the
sheet into the search field I get a "No Items Were Found".

I tried to upload 2 pictures of the sheet but every time I do, I get a "403
Forbidden" error. The file is in JPG format and not larger than 2MB.

Anyway, the number on the sheet is 4550634. The picture is of a black X through

I hope someone can help me figure out what set this sheet goes too.

When I started building, I tried to peel off a sticker from the sticker sheet
backing, but both the sticker and the backing just flexed too much, and won't
pop off the sticker sheet. Has anyone else had this problem?

I wanted to see what other people who've encountered this situation would
recommend, before I contact LEGO Customer Service for their advice.

I'm okay with building the set without stickers applied, doesn't bother
me. I've never come across stickers that don't want to pop off at least
an edge from the sticker sheet, though!

Cheers ...

I have only encountered this when building some of the older sets from the 80's.

Contact LEGO to get a replacement sticker sheet.

As long as the package is moving, it will eventually get to its destination.

This is not allowed per our Terms of Service. You can allow access to another
individual to handle remaining orders and close the account down, but another
person cannot inherit the account. They would need to make their own account
and transfer the inventory and settings.

What would happen if they were working together with the same account. For example,
a husband and wife team that were both processing orders on an account in the
husband's name. If he then died, would the wife have to close down the account
and start a new one even though she had jointly run the store, possibly for many
years?

This is a great question, and I would love to hear the answer because my account
is used by my husband, my child (25) and myself. We have been considering opening
a store and if something were to happen to me, they would still want to use the
account.

Well I think its safe to say this is all about providing species information
that is known/useful rather than being overly concerned with trying to add species
info that is unknown or hard to source besides which I would go as far as to
say there is no need to add 'Human' to every human character and it may
not be necessary to add the species name where only one known character of that
species exists in Lego form For instance the character Sebulba may not need to
be defined by species unless another character of same species comes along in
which case adding 'Dug' to both entries may be beneficial but I wouldn't
be against it being added though it won't be of much use to anyone for search
purposes unless the character is just as well know by their species as their
actual name

Phew! Take a breath. Please use punctuation. I almost ran out of breath reading
this.

Try looking at the bottom of the pin for a copyright circle with

A few didn't vote? This cracks me up as there are 1,353,547 registered members.
Only 16 voted and only 12 of those voters actually chose a letter.

here is the original Poll as a refresher & the Results.

"Poll:

Which option would you prefer as a Spamming Solution

A? nothing, Raw Spam is Delicious!
B) require a Pay-To-Play Positive Feedback, similar to the Seller Requirement
C) require new users to be Verified by some Official Secondary means w/ Bricklink.
D) ban Zero Feedback Members from posting URL Links in the Forum.
E) allow Zero Feedback Members Limited Forum Access that is a Moderator Only
visiblie / Replies Enabled post"

What about an option F) None of the above. This option would make this vote a
much better example of a vote.

I would recommend running the vote for 1 month to get a better representation
of the "communities" opinion on the matter.

BTW, I did not vote because I do not feel that any of the options are the correct
way to go. Add an option F) and I will.

I believe the smaller instruction you have does match the catalog. The picture
in the catalog was cropped to take out the white border.

It is most likely the instructions found in the initial release of the set.

Unfortunately, the catalog does not allow more than 1 picture for instructions.
I hope someday that will change as there are quite a few sets that have alternate
instructions.

I do believe the 40L and the 28L are pneumatic hoses. The 12L could be a classic

I ship to Germany. I have not had any problems with any of my packages going

maybe there is a code imbedded into the tracking number on the shipping label.

If your customer is willing to pay the shipping costs and you use recyclable
material, I see no reason why you cannot ship to them. I use first class international

some more time in upstate New York one day. Myself, not such a fan of the cities.
I am much more comfortable hiking through the woods or mountains. But, I have
never been to NYC, either, and I suppose I will have to go there at least once

Yea ummm, going to New York city is an ordeal for sure. We paid $100 in tolls
to get to Long Island to buy a Lego collection. It was a 16-hour drive made in
1 day. I have never seen so many people and PIGEONS!!!! in my life. (Pigeons)=
the newest New York rat! It was fun to drive by Macy's and see the Empire
State Building up close(ish) as well as the Lady of Liberty. I have vowed never
to do it again.

Upstate New York is amazing though!
