  I'm building set 7706 from the instructions pdf from lego.com and the parts
I'm using are different than the inventory on bricklink. One example is a
white 1 x 4 tile. There are other differences but I'm not familiar with bricklink
magic. I hope one of you are.

This set was redesigned during production. The notes are at the very bottom of
the inventory page. They are...

Redesigned during production.

There are at least two different versions of instructions for this set. The differences
for the second version are indicated in this inventory in the Alternate Items
section with Match ID 99.

Quick overview of redesign: In the cockpit module various parts are added to
strengthen the build. In the track assembly two black 3708 Technic, Axle 12 are
replaced by four black 6558 Technic, Pin 3L with Friction Ridges Lengthwise,
enabling the tracks on each side to move independently from each other.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are numerical errors in the parts lists in the instructions for both versions
of this set. The early version of the instructions incorrectly lists only one
pair of minifigure legs, but two are included. It also lists 13 dark bluish gray
32291 Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Perpendicular Double, but only 12 were
included. The later version of the instructions incorrectly lists one black 6558
Technic, Pin 3L with Friction Ridges Lengthwise, but 18 are included.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The dark bluish gray 32523 Technic, Liftarm 1 x 3 Thick in the later version
of the set has also been found in dark gray. The black 6538b Technic, Axle Connector
2L (Ridged with x Hole x Orientation) have also been found in the set as 6538c
Technic, Axle Connector 2L (Smooth with x Hole + Orientation).

Thanks for whittling it down yet further, Sylvain! Just need to figure out why
my images are "now considered wrong"

The .jpg extension actually covers different formats and subformats.
It can be quite complicated to find the guilty ‘option’ to explain the problem.
I don’t think it’s necessary to go further anyway because all the subformats
should be accepted (or, at least, there should be a useful/clear error message)
and knowing it’s the format and not the size or a handling error should be sufficient
for the devs.
But, at worse, they can ask for an example file.

Thank you for helping me understand more fully. I'll stop trying to troubleshoot
that and move on to other issues needing my attention. Thanks again.

Popsicle,
Have you been able to figure out what is wrong with your pictures and why you
were getting the "403 forbidden" error? I am getting the same error message
and would like to fix it so I can upload some pictures.

  This week I made a very expensive mistake in Bricklink. I'm so angry with
myself. Nobody did anything "wrong". I just wasn't savvy with knowing
the ropes.

I'd like to spin it positive and see your tips so others can avoid pitfalls.
Or maybe just take a moment to laugh at our silly selves.

So, what Bricklink lessons have you learned.... or possibly had burned into your
brain?

My biggest mistake was to order an item thinking the store I was ordering from
had the part listed correctly. I receive my order and realize the part was the
wrong variant. I contact the store, but they do not have to correct part.

This was

Part No: x264 Name: Rubber Band Large (Square Cross Section)
*
x264 Rubber Band Large (Square Cross Section)
Parts: Rubber Band & Belt {Yellow}
for

Set No: 7415 Name: Aero Nomad
*
7415-1 (Inv) Aero Nomad
111 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 5 Gear, 2003
Sets: Adventurers: Orient Expedition
and I needed 3. I had also placed 2 other
orders at the same time and when those orders arrived, I was horrified to find
that those stores also sent me the wrong part. So now I had 3

Part No: x89  Name: Rubber Belt Large (Round Cross Section) - Approx. 3 1/4 x 3 1/4
*
x89 Rubber Belt Large (Round Cross Section) - Approx. 3 1/4 x 3 1/4
Parts: Rubber Band & Belt {Yellow}
that
I didn't need and none of the shops I had ordered from had the correct part.

I found another shop that had the x264 listed and contacted them to verify they
had the correct part. They assured me they did and so I ordered. It was the wrong
part again but this time the store actually said they would source it for me
and send it on to me when they got it. That part finally arrived and again it
was the wrong part.

I did finally find a shop that had all 3 but they didn't ship to the USA,
so I contacted them and asked if they could send me a picture of the 3 parts
they had listed. They did, and they were the correct ones, and that shop owner
was willing to ship an order to me!

All told, it cost me somewhere between $40-$50 to finally get the 3 parts I needed.
The moral of the story is, IF you need a specific variant of part, contact the
shop and ask them to verify the part variant and maybe send pictures to prove
it is correct.

Oh I see you updated the number. The only thing I'm seeing are pirate sets
from 2004

Yes, my question is where this specific color (Pearl Dark Gray) came from as
it's not in the catalog at all. Perhaps it was an alternate possible color
in some sets and no one ever made note it?

The 2 swords in set

Set No: 7075 Name: Captain Redbeard's Pirate Ship

7075-1 (Inv) Captain Redbeard's Pirate Ship
132 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 1 Gear, 2004
Sets: 4 Juniors: Pirates
are

Part No: 43887 Name: Minifigure, Weapon Sword, Scimitar
*
43887 Minifigure, Weapon Sword, Scimitar
Parts: Minifigure, Weapon {Dark Bluish Gray}
and Light Bluish Gray.

At least those were the colors ours came with.

  So I have over almost 1k bricks for now and I have boxes that have rows what
is the best way to store them I use ziplocks for some pieces and sets and minifigures
but not sure if that would be good for bricks taken apart.

Most stores use some kind of container storage system like Akro Mills or Sterilite
drawers. Others use bins or shoe boxes. Some use baseball card boxes to store
minifigures.

You should go to YouTube and watch some videos on how people store their LEGO.
It is very informative.

  Hi, I am new to bricklink and have just started selling on here. I have added
my inventory but not yet had any interest. I understand I probably need to be
patient but wondered if there was anything I could do to help improve sales?

I would really appreciate any suggestions you good folks have and look forward
to hearing from you.

Thanks
Adam

Hi Adam,
Welcome to Bricklink!
The best way to get sales is to increase your lots, IE: store inventory. More
product=more sales.
Most people on Bricklink are looking for parts so selling sets is a waiting game.
Think of it like this...
500 people log into Bricklink. Of those 500 people, only 25 are looking to buy
sets. There are over 19,000 sets listed on Bricklink of which you have 22. Your
store is 1 of 17,799 stores currently open on Bricklink and there are currently
2,873,530 sets New & Used being sold in those stores. The odds of someone looking
for one of the sets you have listed is very small.

To increase your chances, you need to add product to your store.
Other sellers have listed their products at a lower price than the 6-month average
when they are first starting out to help them gain feedback and customers as
well as sales.

I wish you the best in your journey on Bricklink!

Why do shops sell

Part No: 42687 Name: Legs Mechanical, Super Battle Droid - Solid between Feet
*
42687 Legs Mechanical, Super Battle Droid - Solid between Feet
Parts: Minifigure, Legs, Modified {Pearl Dark Gray}
when the clip is broken?

This part is not usable at all with a broken clip. I also believe that the price
of this piece gets inflated due to sellers selling a broken part.

I understand that sellers have the right to sell anything LEGO in their shops
as long as it is clearly stated in the description if something is wrong with
the part.

Seriously though, who is going to buy a useless part? It cannot hold up the
Super Battle Droid or any other droid.

Can someone please explain this to me?

  Since BrickLink came back up I've been unable to buy anything. Whenever I
try to pay it just pops up with an error and restarts endlessly. I use PayPal

I was wondering if there was an issue or if this was part of the maintenance.

I have placed 5 orders since Bricklink reopened. I use PayPal and have had no
issues. Check you ship to address and make sure it matches with your Bricklink
address.
