I think multiple shallow drawers work best. Here is a snippet of my setup.
I have around 430 drawers like this for 600,000+ parts.

I'll take it so long as the pieces are organized some way and not all dumped
together.

Looking to get $400 shipped for the entire store. Can't remember how to make
the file but I'm sure buyer will assist on that.

When I originally priced all these bricks it was based on the 6 month average
but haven't updated in quite a while.

All the pieces I have came from parted out sets and I marked them as used but
they have never been played with.

It would be a big box but would do my best to at least keep every color sorted.

Any other questions please feel free to ask any and all

i'm sure for many people bricklink is simply a hobby, as for me, but the
shops at the top can't be sinking thousands of hours and dollars into something
because it's fun right? i want to know where these colossal stores find their
profit. as a super tiny store, my investment in little ebay listing or lots is
minimal, and any profit tends to come from shipping costs. i'd love to expand,
but with no guarantee of orders, it's a little daunting to invest money into
items that might only be worth $10 more than i get it for. also i only care about
bionicle. lol.

In any market, you need to have an edge.

There are around 6 business models on Bricklink. (I will not count hobby store
models)

1.) Source out massive inventories due to geographical advantage (proximity to
LEGO factories). Spend a million $$$+.

2.) Source from PAB, European sellers and focus on high velocity inventory. Spend
100K+

3.) Source used LEGO lots. Purchase LEGO for $2 a pound in bulk, clean it, sort
it, list it. So a tonne of LEGO is $2,000-$3,000 but you spent a lot of time
(although AI makes it easier)
This is somewhat geographic because you need to be somewhere where there is a
lot of used LEGO for sale and cheap labor.

Side question - What AI tool is helpful in sorting/listing used bulk Lego? I
keep waiting for some great new technology but have yet to find anything that
effectively speeds up my process.

4.) Purchase new sets at discount, wait 18+ months for them to appreciate. At
least 20K+ to get started and you won't really make that much unless you
can scale.

5.) Source used LEGO lots. Pick out all the good stuff (rare pieces, minifigure
parts), sell the rest in bulk lots. I calculated it is possible to make $35-$40
an hour, but again supplies of quality lots can be limited.

6.) Buy sets and part them out. This model is sort of obsolete, because LEGO
started limiting quantity purchases around 2012. It is hard to get 100 of the
same sets to part out.

Only 1, 2, and 3 are serious business models. 4, 5, and 6 can earn you side money
every month.

Some of the drawers are filled with just one lot, some have multiple lots in

We recently received our 5000th feedback and upgraded to the orange brick! We've
been at this purposely since 2019 and have shipped out 8754 orders. We have no
social media presence, no advertising etc. and have pretty much lived in the
shadows but I'd like to introduce myself and my store and get to know everyone
a little better and become a bigger part of this amazing community.

My name is Mike, I am located in southwest Missouri, and my full-time gig is
a high school teacher. My wife handles most all of the picking and shipping and
a lot of the listing of new inventory. This store allows her to be a stay at
home mom, put in a couple of hours of work each day and then attend to the rest
of her obligations. I have three young children who also help out with picking
orders and things like minifigure identification.

My store's name is 0 to 60 #fastestshipping, and obviously that fastest shipping
claim is self-appointed. There may be stores that get packages out faster than
we do but there can't be many. We ship everything same day or next day for
orders that come in overnight. USPS does a good job from my location and a majority
of packages will reach their destination within 48 hours of ordering (I haven't
done a study with USPS Ground Advantage to see if that has slowed down from First-Class).
I am really proud of my storage system and the speed of which it allows us to
pull pieces. I store my inventory in 440 wooden drawers 24"x24"x2.5"
which I made out of recycled pallet and shipping box lumber (see picture).

My prices are quite high. This is a second job for me and a part-time job for
my wife, so we try to keep things manageable. We average around 6 orders a day
/ around 270 pieces a day / around 70 lots per day. With our current structure
my wife can spend a couple of hours per day getting the orders out and adding
200/300 pieces to our inventory so our store can maintain its current size. If
our prices were lower I'm afraid we'd have a hard time keeping up. Finding
that correct balance has been the most interesting part of this whole journey.

I'm sure this is more than you cared to know about us but thanks to this
community for everything and nice to meet you all!

Great to meet you. Also looks like you have a good selection of new and used
parts. What does it look like inside the wooden drawers?

I think 5" is to deep, some stuff will get buried. I put a false back in
the drawers about 3" from the actual back. I can pull the drawers out to
the false back without worry. Behind the false back I store things like decorated
pieces, light gray, brown, etc. - stuff I want to keep seperated. My drawers
actually slide on the drawer bottoms so I didn't have to buy any drawer slides.
A little wax and they slide really well.

In Off Topic, BrickingYard writes:
  Hi Mike, thanks for sharing.

I appreciate the photo of the drawers, a lot of people are doing the Akro-Mils
small plastic storage bins, so I haven't seen anyone share the larger drawer
approach for the whole inventory.

I feel like the larger drawer setup is the way I want to go eventually. I plan
on designing and building my setup too, but was thinking more like 5-inch high
drawers for more vertical space and increased lots per drawer. I started looking
into drawer slides that enable telescoping the whole drawer out to see everything
at once, but they aren't cheap. I only recently opened my store so I have
some time to research, design, and estimate the cost.

How do you like your drawers, how far can you pull them out and still be supported
on their own? Is there anything you would change if you had to do it all over
again?

Nice to meet you,

  Joe

Yes, my question is where this specific color (Pearl Dark Gray) came from as
it's not in the catalog at all. Perhaps it was an alternate possible color
in some sets and no one ever made note it?

Is it possible to filter my inventory to only items with comments. I don't
want to find a specific comment, rather I want to update my wording and thus
want to find every single item in my inventory that has any comment at all.

Under Search My Store Inventory there is a comments button, is there some sort
of wildcard I could put in the keyword section that would return everything?

Thanks for the help.

I have five of these star wars minifigures with light-up lightsabers. All of
them have some issues or are missing some pieces. I assume they still have some
value to someone.

Am I allowed to accept offers for these? I will of course set up a lot and sell
through Bricklink.

SW0116 Luminara Unduli - Missing lightsaber, missing one hand, face discolored,
a couple of small bite marks on face, damage to end of lightsaber hilt where
lightsaber goes in. Does not light up.

SW0116 Luminara Unduli - Does not light up. Head very chewed. Missing top of
head, headgear, lightsaber, cape, one arm and hand

SW0133 Mace Windu - Does light up. Missing lightsaber. Hilt broken where lightsaber
goes in.

SW0137 Obi-Wan Kenobi - Does light up. Missing lightsaber, missing headgear,
bite marks on face.

SW0121 - Does Light up. Missing lightsaber, missing cape. Back of neck badly
damaged.

It is annoying how the print scale has changed. As mentioned by someone else
in an earlier post, Cntrl + A, Cntrl + P, make sure you choose to print selection
only. This fix works for Chrome.

I have two 64 drawer Akro-Mils cabinets, three 44 drawer Akro-Mils cabinets,
and four more 48 drawer cabinets that are unbranded.

The Akro-Mils are all 20" wide x 16" tall by 6.5" deep
The unbranded ones are 15" wide x 19" tall by 6.25 deep

Shipping them will be expensive so probably looking for someone within 500 miles
or so
of SW Missouri or shipping fees will just be too much.

I'm not sure how to sell (or trade) these under Bricklink's guidelines,
but I am open to all trade offers.

Thanks

but when I attempted to confirm the order after authorizing the payment on PayPal,
the page crashed. When I reloaded, the order didn't appear to go through,

Did those items happen to sell while I was in the process of ordering or was
