I think the catmins' reply to this would be that if the catalog expressly states
that certain minifigures do not include their accessories, it implies that other
minifigures without this comment do include their accessories.

This is indeed the stated reason for not making such a change.

Further, adding such text does not preclude the seller from still including the
accessories if they want and stating so in the comment.

Then you get a really confusing listing such as:

"The Monster - Minifig only - Includes Accessories"

Troy

I can understand that. I proposed a change for the entire Figure Type similar
to the instructions
When you look at Instructions it looks like this in a store:
(Instructions) for Set 7571 The Fight for the Dagger

I Think figures should look like this:
(Minifigure Only) Artist

Yes people could still add "with accessories" to their listing, but this would
still eliminate the confusion in stores that have listed the figures correctly(1)

Brian R.

(1) This is my opinion, I understand that other people will want to argue about
whether the figures with accessories are correct or incorrect.

Earlier someone mentioned removing feedback left by buyers complaining about
not receiving accessories for collectible minifigs when they purchase from the
minifig only listing. I've received two of such false complaints in the past
few days. I tried to communicate politely with the buyers about helping them
resolve the misunderstanding but received no responses from either. I'm aware
that others have also experienced this. It would be nice for these feedback to
be removed as they reflect no fault on the seller's behalf.

Voted yes (tho when I mentioned it yesterday I wasn't really serious, but it
does seem to be an issue).

I looked this over again. Here is how I see the problem (slightly different
from earlier posts about this). Other sites list these "sets" as minifigures.
So if I see a collectable minifig listed in a store here listed as "New" condition,
I can EASILY see why a buyer would think they are getting that figure MISB. When
I just looked in Nannan's store, he has a whole bunch of Collectable minifigs
listed as new and he does not say they are opened with no accessories. He has
done nothing wrong, but 2 buyers feel misled.

HOWEVER!

Are we gonna leave the system as is? We now know it is fact that buyers are
confused and feeling misled, yet we are not fixing the system to make it easier
for them. Does this bring a recent thread about set buyers only getting instructions
to mind for anyone else?

So now when this buyer feels ripped off and tries to warn other buyers...we tear
down his warning so the next buyer who doesn't get to see it, orders and gets
disappointed too? Now we look like look a bunch of scammers hiding the evidence.

Soooo.........I am in favor of the suggestion, BUT the listing method MUST be
made crystal clear. The minifig descriptions should be altered to state by default
that no accessories are included. parhaps the cancelled S2 method of 2 entries
per fig was better. 1 entry with accessories and 1 without.

Chris'

Or...just sell the figures the way you bought them, with the accessories

But what if I wanted to keep the accessories?

Or why isn't every other figure on this site, listed for sale with the set that
it was originally sold with?

Or, what if i buy the parts for the figures in the Build-a-Fig section of a LEGO
store (like you can do with some Series 1 figures), those don't come with accessories.

Let me be clear. I see no Problem with how the system is currently setup.

My post was an idea that would not have to be too much work, and would resolve
the number 1 complaint being mentioned. Would it make a few other problems, maybe,
but the fear of people now assuming all other figures have stuff is very small.
[a solution to that could be something similiar to instructions, just add the
wording to the beginning of the title of every figure] But every change that
is ever going to be made is going to cause problems.

Remember there use to be a listing for each figure, and one listing for the set.
Then there were two listings for each figure (1 with stuff, 1 without), and one
listing for the set.
And now there is one listing for each figure, a listing for the random set, and
a set listing for each figure with stuff.

Three solution, all of which have had many people complaining.

My main complaint is that apparently reporting the items that are listed incorrectly
does nothing.

In regards to the set vs minifig listings how about the admin produce a statement
that every member of BL must read & affirm to before being able to place their
next order. I won't presume to know the perfect way to accomplish this, but here
is my idea. The statement would basically be an explanation that as a buyer they
are responsible for buying what they want. It would point out that currently
the collectible minifigs can be sold with and without accessories and that the
buyers should use caution to correctly identify which they want and which they
buy & not assume that all collectible minifigs include the accessories. To take
things further Admin should make it policy to remove not-positive feedback that
indicate the statement was not adhered to.

A simpler idea would be to change the names of the figure entries from "Artist"
to "Artist (Figure Only)"

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Now, if all buyers would keep that in mind....

It kills me that people are always decrying "the nanny state", but every time
something bad happens they are all clamoring to enact some sort of system controlled
protection to prevent it.

Don't take big risks on untried sellers. If it sounds too good to be true, it
is. These are not difficult "rules to live by" and are self-regulating.

Troy

I've seen lots of good deals at low feedback sellers, I have tried several, and
so far (knock on wood) I haven't been scammed yet. But I do take precautions,
only placing a small order is the main way I limit the exposure to this type
of scam. If I lose a few dollar, not a big deal, and if the order arrives and
everything is excellent, I can place another order with them.

The Payment method chosen by the buyer really doesn't affect BrickLink, so why
not allow it to be a little more free-form?

Right now, I know that some sellers would like to accept AlertPay, so that could
be added to the list. But, honestly, sellers can ALREADY accept AlertPay if they
want to -- they just don't have a standard way to let their customers know that.

I want to accept payment in LEGO. Or in store credit. Or in micro SD cards. Clearly,
though, I can't wait until BrickLink adds any of those as listed payment types.

So, the suggestion: Add a payment type called "Other" which allows the seller
to specify a payment type, along with any notes. Let us have three of these "Others"
if we want to use them.

Thanks!

I like it, I would love to have "Trade" be a payment method, but this is the
next best thing.

I've been asking for option A for over a year. My suggestion on it was discarded.
Hopefully something is done about this problem.

Thanks,

You could always just use the My Orders Received pull-down filters

But this would be a one-click solution like orders not invoiced and orders not
shipped. Your search would find the orders that are marked processing.

this in Suggestions in the first place.

LOL - OK, I'll shift it back there again then I agree that using Complete
/ Incomplete would do the trick, so maybe better to see if that could be implemented...

Best of luck, we are still waiting for complete/incomplete to be implemented
for minifigs.

See image below, I added the column of Text inside the Red Box to the first entry

(1) I randomly assigned the values of "U" (Used) and "N" (New). I do not know
what condition this head is in these stores.

You can select a condition.

But I am willing to buy both New or Used, but the price I'm willing to pay might
differ between New or Used.

I could have two entries for each item on my Wanted list, but this seems like
a lot of extra problem, since I would have much more work to do when I buy an
item having to delete it twice. And since there are a little over 2000 items
(mostly figures) on my Wanted lists, doubling everything would make the lists
almost unmanagable.

They already show up on the list twice, so there would be no conflict with the

I think it would be useful to have seperate Minimum order amounts for Domestic
Orders and International Orders.

The reason for this is the large amount of time it takes to ship an international
order versus a domestic order.
A domestic order I can ship at anytime using the Automated Postal Center in the
Post Office Lobby, My packages are often shipped around 1:00am. But International
orders, require that I wait until the Post Office counter is open and then wait
in line before I can ship the package.

If this suggestion were implemented, then I would remove my Minimum for domestic
orders, and increase the minimum for International orders to $5.00.

What does everyone else think?
