  Hi All,
Need some advise on inventory management.
Do you ever recount all items in your store, go from lot to lot to check if everything
is correct.
Or do you take for granted that you sometimes miss something for an order?

Any advise is more then welcome.

For common/numerous parts I always list a few less than what I physically count.
Help provides a buffer.

Can we have BL (after a 1 - 2 month period) send out a fallow up email for buyers
who haven’t yet completed and/or left feedback for their order? Thanks all!

Completed yes. I order regularly on aliexpress and they do this. They send
an email asking how it went. They follow up later with an email saying they
are going to identify the order is completed. All regularly on behalf of their
sellers. Not a big deal. Probably avoids the five months later someone saying
they didn’t receive something. This is a legitimate issue for sellers. The
time limit for a PayPal refund is longer than my time limit for a postal insurance
claim.

Though, Bricklink also does this by purging orders from the website. Its a long
time limit but difficult to resolve any issues afterwards.

  Hi there.
Following up on the just just send out newsletter;

It stated clearly that sets have to be marked as a custom set , instead as "incomplete"
when minifigures are missing.

As of now the rules on this are somewhat subject to point of view.

Also it states on the page before the definitions that incomplete sets status
does count when minififures are missing.

"Item For Sale Condition (New/Used) and Sub-Condition (Complete/Incomplete/Sealed)
must adhere to their respective Definitions. For example, sets which have been
previously built must be listed as Used. Sets without Minifigures must be listed
as Incomplete."

From page :
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=103

"Incomplete - Contents are brand new, but may have been removed from plastic
bags for inventory purposes or to remove other contents from the set. The set
is missing some of the contents, instructions or original box/packaging. The
description should clearly state what exactly is missing."

Kijd regards.

I don’t see the suggestion you are making. Is this post in the correct area?

I have seen a lot of sellers offer multiple different discounts. It would be
nice to have a filter that you can choose the discounts you want to see instead
of just all sales. Like if a shop has different sale percentages at 10, 25, 30,
50 and 75 percent off you could filter for everything above 50%.

This is a comparison to a created number. There are no sales on bricklink.
Just different prices.

Awesome thanks. What are pounds?

My mistake. I forgot that the metric system is the main method of measurement
used by Canadians.

I was just being cheeky. We deal with lots of stuff in both systems of measurement.
Not really much of an issue. Glad you have a sense of humour (humor).

it was a generic replacement, so off a spool of some description.

So my question, do we sell fake none Lego on this site, no matter what it is?

Why are you bothering to buy string?

So I want some opinions on what you all would do. I am somewhat at fault so will
take some of the blame. I placed an order in a store without looking at the terms.
It stated when I placed the order to give them 7 days to ship. Now when I went
back and looked before they closed there store to do orders they upped it to
14 days. So it has been 9 days with still sitting on paid.

So here where is I want your opinions would you file a NSS or still sit and wait
for 14 days even though they changed it since I have placed my order. It isn't
a big lot order or anything.

I suggest a NSS and request refund. A seller saying they don’t ship for two
weeks? Did they go on vacation and not close their store? Or, they could actually
be scamming as many people as possible before closing down. Two week delay is
not reasonable. Cancel and least favourite.

  Hello,

I would be very grateful if any Lego fans out there could help me by answering
a couple of questions for a Lego school project...

I'm a year 8 student (12 years old) from the UK and a massive Lego fan. I'm
working on a school Design & Engineering study project and I really want to make
a Lego related product.

At home, I have all my bricks in drawers but when I go away from home I struggle
to take my bricks and Lego projects with me. To help me and others who have the
same problem, I have chosen to design and make a product to help to people travel
with their bricks and build anywhere.

I'm doing some research into what people currently use to travel with Lego
and and I would be very grateful if you could answer the questions below to help
me understand what things you feel would be useful to a product like this

It will only take you a minute or two: https://forms.office.com/e/XWUmpDsYHj

Thank you very much for your help.

Happy to help. This looks like it could be a fun design project. Good questions.

Can a Bricklink admin take a statement on this?

This is very much a concern which I share. While I don’t have a NSS complaint
against me at the moment I can emphasize how it would feel if I did and if Bricklink
support wasn’t there to help.

  Hi everybody,

Quick question. I am a seller in Canada and I had an order to United States.
I shipped the order and the buyer had an incorrect ZIP code and the package is
being returned to sender (me). This process takes weeks I was told by Canada
Post. The buyer acknowledge his mistake and I have been transparent through the
whole process. Sent the buyer tracking number, pics, etc. I have even offered
to refund him the amount paid, minus the states sales tax and PayPal fee. I have
not heard back from the buyer after 4 messages and they have been read. What
would you do as a seller? How does the buyer get the sales tax back? Any thoughts
would help. Thanks.

Havy you considered you may need to refund entirely if the buyer puts in a Paypal
claim? You have no proof of delivery. They seem to disregard that the buyer
could make an error with their address.

Hi anyone have a way of creating an invoice just for extra postal charge,
as client selected incorrect postal requirements and has already paid by Stripe.

normally just get them to pay the extra via PayPal, but this is a stripe payment
and client requesting invoice.

It's easy to create an Invoice (or anyway ask for a payment) from Stripe.

Otherwise, if there are taxes involved, this would avoid part of them - you shouldn't.

You could have Shipping Methods that don't allow this kind of mistake.

I'd say, either:
* refund the whole, reinvoice and be paid again,
* or just pay for the difference.

In fairness to the original post. One cannot make shipping methods which prevent
this kind of mistake. Anyone who has free local pickup enabled will have this
default to the cheap est option. Which is another problem because Bricklink
can easily check if the address is within local driving range. In Canada we
have local options to select for sellers charging provincial sales taxes. There
are numerous other examples where the customer much chose the correct option
which applies to them. I don’t think it’s necessarily the vendor fault.

First of all I ve figured out that my prices was around 15% higher than on the
market, idk why but I have fixed it, now I should understand when I am uploading
parts to bricklink, which of this choices should I choose. Which is normal price
for parts?

Thanks!

Your Marble Bricks

Its never good to price to 6 month average.

Take instructions for example. Quantity sold per year is minuscule in comparison
to available for sale. That one which did sell was probably tacked on to another
order which already had shipping covered. So, actual price of the book was less
significant. If you sell them for a penny, or a few dollars your sales will
probably be the same.

Consider basic bricks. The average price includes bulk buys between people wanting
a lot of that item and the sellers with a lot on hand. Those people get a low
price for the simplicity of 100 qty increments. You have 6 of that item and
your buyer is considering 3 for a MOC. They know they can get it cheaper if
they bought 100 but that other seller has a huge minimum order. A few pennies
per unit extra you charge isn’t significant.

There are other segments to consider. Minifigs sell differently. Unusual colours
and items.

[Very much enjoyed my visits to Riga, particularly the KGB museum. Hope all
is going well].

  Hello,

I’m trying to come up with a way to easily add the items I purchase on Bricklink
to my parts inventory. I was thinking I could use the “Import parts with CSV
or XML file” option on the “My Collection” page.

On the “Order Summary” page there is an option to “Add Order Items To Wanted
List”, but when I tried that it says “We're sorry. Service is temporarily
unavailable.”. I was hoping to use this option to create wanted lists of each
order and then download them as CSV or XML files, and then upload them to my
parts collection. I was wondering if there is any other way to download the list
of items purchased on a completed order?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I am always amused by how many different kinds of people ask on the Forum: I
want to sell here, but I read the rules and would rather not do what they say,
so how can I get around them?

The rules are there to encourage new sellers to learn a bit about how the system
works first and so to protect our buyers here. It also discourages scam stores
from being able to set up quickly and easily.

So, Good Luck! new would-be sellers in setting up a shop, navigating the BrickLink
system, learning how to pack up orders and about the postal system. Placing an
order for a feedback is the least big hoop to jump through I'd say!

~Jen

Except many sellers don’t leave feedback. Or wait for the buyer to receive their
product, mark the order as complete before they do. Then perhaps on a quarterly
basis. Essentially, an order is not guaranteed pathway to seller verification.
Though perhaps thats a good lesson too

The Store complained that they only post feedback once they know I am going to

Few days later I see the feedback has been "Removed by Administration"

Any way I can appeal this?

My feedback was honest and true. I even have the message history to prove it,
including the store trying to "bribe" me to change my feedback to positive...
This shouldn't be allowed...

I believe the comments I see above have treated your post somewhat unfairly.
It seems like you had an expectation that feedback would be left by the other
party. As others have noted this is not the norm. I see that you are new to
Bricklink. This could have been communicated to you better. I hope this experience
has not put you off the site as a whole.

  Hi everyone,

Here is an idea as I received all of my neutral feedbacks because the buyer never
contacted me prior to leaving feedback for a small mistake I made in an order
and never gave me the chance to make it right.

Not sure how that would be done, but here is my idea : before a buyer can leave
a neutral or negative feedback, there must be a mandatory step of contacting
the buyer to discuss the issue first. I'm sure lots of sellers are in the
same position as me and lots of buyers think the feedback system is just as an
amazon or facebook system. You buy, you're happy / not happy and you leave
feedback. Especially for the new buyers.

What do you think ?

Thanks for reading.
