Just went trough a really good version of this set, in a box but opened and built sometime in the history. This contains the normal version of this brick, and considering how rare these without a bottom hole is I think there were set with the newer version.

I have the the stickers on the old version of this piece which should be correct with the release date of this set. And this are the smaller version of the stickers not the one in 344 and they are in perfect condition

I must have mistaken on that calculation to 7 and not 6 then(on the roof)
good that it was cleared out
I will keep my old style 2x2 and 2x3 because that was part of the kit and more
time accurate since the production of those with support style was started much
later than the 2x4( At least by my experience)
Dont understand why i did not wrote those specs in the request though

Again building a high quality set and I have these amount of pieces.
In picture 8,9 you can see use of one 2x4 but on the next fold you can see that there is 2x2s instead
So even though you calculate with that piece the number is wrong

I went through the instructions and as far as I can see the inventory is correct
with 15 pieces of 3003old and 17 pieces of 3001old.

Built one perfect condition with box. my set and every page and picture states this number except one picture in the building instruction(which means 1 out of 5 in the instruction) which indicates that this is the right number

I agree that there should be 9 pieces of 3001old as shown in the first attached
image. In this image you can also see 19 pieces of 3003old, but if you look at
the second attached image you can see that two more pieces of 3003old are at
the back of the roof. That means that the quantity of 21 is correct.

Hmm damn I really calculated a few times but missed those even though i did calculate
the 1x2

You can even see the two red flowers on the box picture you have uploaded, if you have the box infromt of you it is clear that it is 2 flowers with 2 steams and one extra yellow
