Hello all. We have been on BL since 2009, and had a good run for many years.

We went away for a few years, and our inventory has just been sitting around.
Well we decided to sell a few of the NEW items we have. 79 items in 44 lots,
so not a lot, but they are all new and unused condition.

Please take a look and see if we have anything you are looking for.

unfortunately... the "Seller Protection" - "Show only Instant Checkout methods
to new buyers" in the management store tab. I found out the hard way this does
not exclude the old buyers from using instant check out.

I chose to go through with the instant check out, because of this misleading
feature.

I need this feature to only handle new buyers(100 days of activity, or 5 positive
feedback from different legitimate sellers). Pulling the orders, and invoicing
before payment is still much needed with old buyers.

However, I need to know that new buyers have a Active/Verified/Completely filled
out PayPal Account. That's why they pay up front.

Everything else is great as always. Shipping feature for flat rate without Instant
works flawlessly. They now have that basic math done for them hehe

Good Job!
Thanks!

I too would like to use Instant checkout for "New" users only, for the time being.
Has this been addressed, or fixed?

  Dave,

Defining what is an active user can be difficult. Just this week I got, for
me, a very large order from a customer who only buys every couple of years.
So would this customer be active or not?

Jennifer

Good Morning. This user would be active again, for the year after they logged
in.

Active vs, Inactive, is merely showing who has been on BL within the last year.

Scroll through the 36,000+ pages of registered members, you will see, especially
in the (0) and (1) feedback members, that signed up in 2003, 2004, 2005, and
so on, that have done nothing. Do you really consider these as "active" members?
I don't. I would call them in the "once and done" list.

Again, being inactive does nothing to the account, merely they would not be counted
in the recently active group.

Sorry, implementing would be a waste of time and resources.

A line or two of code about the difference between last logged in(that's
already there)
and today's date would work.

It would be disappointing to know how few really 'active' members BL
has.

The truth should be know.

There used to be a site visitor counter below on each page.

I really miss this counter, I looked at that all the time I was on.

Hello all. I have been going through the Members - Feedback ratings list, going
on page 21,158 to find information on something that I have been wondering about.
Well in doing this I have seen thousands of users that don't seem to be
"active" users. So I am thinking the 731,476 registered users is somewhat irrelevant.
Many are a once and done, sort of user.

I would like to suggest, that leaving the registered user count intact, but add
the count of "Active" users. Have BL not count the inactive users after say
6 months or 1 year, of actual log in date. This would give us all a better idea
of how many actual users are using BL. This could work just as the purge orders
after 6 months. This would still allow a user to log in after being put into
not active, and then would be in the active number for the 6 months or year.

What say you?

I'm really struggling with the functionality of the new wanted lists. It
just doesn't work. The most frustrating part is when I click on a part in
classic I can see all the sellers with that part and the price. Now all I see
is the minimum buy and have to click on each seller to see the cost (annoying).
I'm choosey about which international locations I purchase my items from
and don't like the fact the information required to allow me to make these
decisions has been removed and i'm now reliant on a robot to decide that
for me if I don't want to write everything down.

Ever heard of the phase "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

At least include all the base functions and information of classic if you do
intend to make this Frankensteins monster breathe life!!!

Thank you

Scott

+1

I 100% agree with this.

I don't know about NSS but if you complete an NPB and in doing so cancel
the order I thought the order is then removed from the sold results in the PG.
I just checked an order we cancelled at a buyer's request a few days ago
and those parts do not show in the sold results.

Robert

But they are shown in the results from the time the order is placed until the
order is cancelled.

What about the 11 orders for

Set No: 10219 Name: Maersk Container Train
*
10219-1 (Inv) Maersk Container Train
1218 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 2011
Sets: Train: RC Train
for $25.00

That was deemed a scam, and most if not all cancelled. They still appear on
the PG?

Dave

who cancelled them, the buyer, the seller, or bricklink?

Ours was cancelled by BL:
Order was Cancelled via Order Cancel Request on Jun 6, 2016 18:52.

Reason: Seller did not respond to emails

Does yours show up in the price guide anymore? (Do you have a blue box next to
it)

Marc.

Yes,still there.

Can you post a screenshot of the price guide, and also the order page after you
click the blue square?

Awesome, thanks. So it appears that if BL cancels an order (instead of it completing
an NSS or NPB), these do not get removed. That is a bit odd, though perhaps BL's
reasoning is that they still want the seller to be on the hook for the seller
fees.

Thanks for the screens.

Your welcome.

--
Marc.

Possibly, because I have had 2 or 3 orders I have cancelled because of "High
shipping" costs, and they are all out of the Price guide.

In reality, we only want the highest quality transactions in the left columns
on the PG. Orders not paid for and orders not shipped (which get to NSS), do
not meet the litmus test of a legitimate Sale.

At which point should they enter the price guide though? At the time of the order,
at the time of the payment, at the time of the order being marked complete? For
all of those, the seller could wait to manipulate the price guide or even not
mark complete, for example, to avoid them being added to the price guide.

I would say, at the time of the order. BUT, I also think it should be removed,
once the order has been cancelled. Since, for whatever reason, the order is
not final.
Just my thought.

Many thanks

I voted YES, for your reasons, even though I don't need it for them. I mark
orders filed, usually after the 4th or 5th of the month. File all the ones
from the previous month. I like to keep all order for the current month on the
page(s) so I can see quickly, how many orders, and the amount we have sold for
the month. After filing the orders, I still randomly check them to see if they
have been completed by the buyer.

I am wondering, how do my shoppers/buyers come into our store?

Could/will BrickLink somehow track how our customers come to the store?

Wanted list notifications
Wanted list
Wanted list by shop
Forum Post
Catalog search

If I am looking at my Wanted list, and then click on a store, from that, BL could
track/send to that store, where I was and clicked on their store. Not to let
the store know who is in the store, but where are their shoppers/buyers searching
and then getting to our store.

Would or could this be a good thing for sellers to know? What say you?

I was reading in another thread about how a large percentage of site visitors
click on the "buy" tab and then don't go anywhere else. I got to thinking
that maybe a list of parts categories is just overwhelming for some people especially
non-AFOLs.

I could envision the first page after clicking "buy" about the same (although
the "sets", "parts", etc. links could be enhanced with images) but once a visitor
clicks on "parts" I think it would really be helpful to have an image for each
parts category showing some of the more common parts in that category. This
way visitors can get a basic idea of what it means to be a "brick, modified"
or a "container" even if the part they're looking for is not on the category
image link. It would certainly take up more space but at the same time I think
it would make it easier (especially for a new visitor) to browse to the correct
category.

I'm a very visual person (I suspect maybe a lot of my fellow AFOLs are also),
and I think this could help retain site visitors. You could even have a link
at the bottom with something like, "Still can't find what you're looking
for? Ask in the forum," that takes the user right to a guest account for posting
in the forum. This would also introduce them to the community which is one of
BrickLink's major assets that sets us apart.

I'd even be happy to provide some images for the various categories.

-Chris

Voted YES, and I agree with Chris. As much as we like to see the lists of stores
to buy from, maybe we need the "BUY" tab to have less of the stores and more
of the items for sale. Move the store statistics to a different tab.

The choice of filters available will force sellers into certain behaviour.

It will "force" them to either check or not check the box. Their behaviour is
not forced at all.

If choice is offered, then some buyers will tick it. That excludes sellers if
they do not offer that service. So who gets to choose the range of services offered?

If BL offers one day handling, some buyers will select it. That will give sellers
that say they do one day handling a better chance of getting an order.

It will give sellers a better chance of getting orders from people who really
want their orders shipped quickly. Absolutely. Which is precisely as it should
be.

Marc.

Getting in this thread late, and not sure if it has been mentioned.

Will Sellers be able to have a checkbox to only allow buyers that will pay for
the order, within "X" hours or minutes, after Invoice has been sent? We can't
ship quickly, if not paid quickly.

Can we cancel the order because of this?

I think that you do need to change the wording. What are the "costs" that you
put on the customs form? Do you put the price of goods as bought from you or
the order total including postage? Making that clear will help international
buyers decide whether to buy from you, and how much they can buy before having
to pay import costs.

We only put the Order total, shipping is not included. I will re-think this
and make appropriate changes.

thanks

I have standard form reply, that I copy and paste. However, maybe some thought
can be given to addressing this increasingly common issue, site-wide.

I have one member from Germany who first placed the order and paid, then pretty
much demanded customs fraud. Still dealing with that shipped order. If I pasted
his correspondence here, many would most likely think it fiction

Here's where I'm way over my head....can code be written that would give
a pop-up banner, when a member attempts to message or order from another member
of a differing country? Maybe something with a fairly benign statement regarding
customs forms.

Until then, I'll just keep copying and pasting

Because of this, and thinking about it, I have added this to our Terms page:

We WILL NOT CHANGE THE COSTS ON CUSTOMS FORMS! If you ask, you will be stoplisted.
If you order from us, and then ask, the order will be canceled and then you will
be stoplisted.

What do you think? Will this stand up? Do I need to change any of the wording?
Can we cancel the order because of this?
