building a extremely well preserved set with box and the numbers are as this in my set and confirmed with the instruction

I went through the instructions and as far as I can see the inventory is correct
with 15 pieces of 3003old and 17 pieces of 3001old.

Did you calculate the ones in the last row on the tow truck?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I had not noticed that those were
two pieces of 3003old and not one of 3001old. I had already rejected your original
request. Can you please submit this request again?

Unless there was some change to this model via a supplement instruction sheet,
some of the parts in the inventory don't even belong there:

Panel 1x2x3
Slope inv. 75 2x1x3

I also don't see the black tile 1x4 in the build

I did a quick look through the instructions and you are correct that those parts
don't appear anywhere in the instructions that I found on Brickset. So either
the current inventory is wrong or there are multiple versions of the instructions
for this set.

Set No: 7822 Name: Railway Station
*
7822-1 (Inv) Railway Station
372 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 1980
Sets: Train: 4.5V

* Add 4 Part 3242 Light Gray Train, Track 12V Conducting Rail Straight

The source is from a NIB set sold on Ebay in Italy.
I have also seen used lots containing 4.5v sets+7822 and 4 extra conducting rails.

This set is advertised 4.5v in catalogs 1980-2 but TLG included 4 straight conducting
rails too so at the end, it was both working with either 4.5v or 12v layout.

I'm not convinced that this set would originally come with conducting rails.
It seems more likely that this seller would throw those rails in with the set
as a service for buyers who might want to use it with a 12V layout. I don't
remember my own set coming with these rails.

This is the only MISB set I have seen. I contacted the seller and asked him more
photos. He didn't know about Lego much and didn't have other train-related
staff. He was certainly not a Lego dealer, that I am sure.

We would never know if ALL copies contained these extra conducting rails.
The problem is that I cannot trust used lots at all as conducting rails are so
common and people have them. However, I attach a used lot containing only 4.5V
sets sold on Ebay in US where 12v train were not sold. We see 3 straight conducting
rails and there may be one extra (or maybe lost?).

I do have another set of photos of an NIB copy but the quality is bad and we
cannot see much.

I also point two things:
1) how did the seller know he had to add 4 extra conducting rails but they are
included in peeron, bricklink,...? why did he do that? I remember he did not
claim the set was complete. In the advertisement, he mentioned something like
"all bags are sealed. Not sure if complete"
2) The conducting rails have contact holes. These are produced between 1980-87.
But they came in two versions. The first version didn't have plastic reinforcements
below the notches (1980-84) but since 1985 they added extra plastic (to all types,
including straight, curved, cross, points,...). See
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1078534

In the photos we can see two conducting rails don't have reinforcements (the
other two are not visible). This is also why I trusted them.

Ok. Maybe you are right about these. But if we add these I think they should
be added as extra parts and not regular parts. They are not shown anywhere on
the box art or instructions. That would fit the definition of extra parts.

Built one perfect condition with box. my set and every page and picture states this number except one picture in the building instruction(which means 1 out of 5 in the instruction) which indicates that this is the right number

I agree that there should be 9 pieces of 3001old as shown in the first attached
image. In this image you can also see 19 pieces of 3003old, but if you look at
the second attached image you can see that two more pieces of 3003old are at
the back of the roof. That means that the quantity of 21 is correct.

Built this old one in perfect condition and pieces match with thesis number that I also could trace in the manual

I went through the instructions for this set and I agree that these are the correct
quantities for these parts.

* Change 2 Part Light Gray 6552 Electric, Pole Reverser Center {match ID 0 to 1}

Comments from Submitter:
I got two of these in a sealed set. They are assembled and I am not sure they can be disassembled without breaking.

Did these ever come as separate parts? Or should we make 6551c01 regular and
delete 6551 and 6552.

I don't know.

I see that Reza submitted requests for all other sets to have the assmbly moved
to regular and remove the separate parts. Based on that I think we can assume
that this part always came assembled. So the assembly should be made a regular
part and the separate parts deleted.

I just deleted my requests and went to make new ones, but someone has already
made the request. If anything else is needed, let me know.

Are you sure about that? I checked the pending requests and didn't see any
for this set. I submitted the requests myself. That means that 6551c01 is now
a regular item in all sets where it appears.

Inventory comes from a copy of the set with sealed bags.

Could the additional parts be extras? At least for the round plates and technic
bush because there's usually an extra for those.

Adding the 4 minifigs in the sealed bags to the inventory of the set

We normally add complete minifigures to set inventories and not individual minifigure
parts. Minifigures should be submitted as assembled in the set instructions.
There can be exceptions in cases where the instructions don't show the minifigures
being assembled and box art shows minifigures in different configurations. Please
let me know if that's the case here.

Also, I assume that one of the visors is an extra if you have five visors and
only four minifigures.

similarly like in set 118. The instructions of set 138 show wheels without rims for the wagon, but the actual set always comes with 8 locomotive wheels with black rims. There are no alternates for this.

You are sure that this set never came with the gray rims? Or as sure as one can
be about such an old set?

Can you please add these as alternate parts.
Parted out 3 sets today and all contained the 88930 instead of the 61068.

I must have been asleep when I inventotied this set. I should have noticed that
I had the wrong variants in this inventory before I added it. My set also has
88930. I don't think 61068 has been in any new sets for many years.

Found a mix of both types in the set. Instead of the 6x 4085d, I had 3x 4085d and 3x 4085b in a newly opened set.

Part 4085b is already in this inventory as an alternate.

* Add 1 Part 996ac96blue White Electric, Wire 4.5V with four Blue 1-prong Connectors Hollow Pin, 96 Studs Long

Comments from Submitter:
source: my personal collection and all available pictures of seald sets on the internet.
This part is not showing up in the instructions. Up to the administrator if he wants to list it as extra or regular.

We have the same situation in set 138-1 where an additional long wire is not
shown on box art or instructions. In that set it was added as a regular item,
so we'll do the same here.

I have downloaded the parts lists from many sources, incl blink and all seem
to include red door 73435c01 as the front door. Clearly the pictures show a need
for door 73436c01 not the one in the catalogue.
Has anyone else run into this - it has cost me 2 wrong door so far.
JXC 123. John

What pictures show that?

Bricklink own parts list has the wrong part number. They have the left door not
the right door

I see the right door in the inventory there.

Sets: Train: 4.5V

* Add 1 Part 3230a Blue Train, Track Tapered Rail Curved Inside (Extra)
* Add 1 Part 3229a Blue Train, Track Tapered Rail Curved Outside (Extra)
* Add 2 Part 3228a Blue Train, Track Tapered Rail Straight 16L (Extra)
* Add 4 Part 132old Black Tire Smooth Old Style - Small (Extra)
* Add 4 Part 7039 Red Wheel Old with 4 Studs (Extra)
* Add 3 Part 3034 White Plate 2 x 8 (Extra)

Comments from Submitter:
All these items are not used in the instructions, but every sealed set i saw untill now contains them. So if I am correct they should be listed as extra items

As mentioned in other replies, the wheels and tires are used in an alternate
model. And the track are shown in the box art. Actually more track is shown than
was included in the set but I think we can include all of these as regular items.

* Change 1 Part Black {3839 Plate, Modified 1 x 2 with Handles - Undetermined Ends and Attachment Type to 3839b Plate, Modified 1 x 2 with Handles - Flat Ends, Low Attachment}

Comments from Submitter:
This part should be the low attachment and short version otherwise the front part of the ship won't connect to the middle part

You are correct. The timeline of this part also supports the b variant in this
set.

Hi INV admins,

The rules to modify extras parts have changed?
In my mind, we need to have the set in hand for extra part change can be accepted?

-Fred

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1562 "Adding Extra Items - Extra parts
are only added to this section when they have been confirmed in a new set. Exceptions
may be made for older sets based on convincing evidence."

In this case photos of the unboxing of a set are convincing evidence for this
older set.

P.S. Since the variant of this part is already in the inventory, this part should
be added as an alternate part.

This request will be rejected because it's been more than a week without
reply to Randy's question about the source for this request.
