Never have this problem before now, anytime I try to change the quantity on a
item I get a red message “Only one item/color combination is allowed per wanted
list” anyone have this same problems or is there something I am doing wrong?

BrickLink does not believe itself to be a historical resource anymore. Surely
this means we’ll be getting rid of the (objectively useless) x000 part IDs?

Grooved variants were added to help users find what they need. What’s stopping
the rest of the grooved variants from being merged in the near future? This sorry
excuse of a project sets this precedent and introduces a slippery slope that
seriously undermines community trust.

Why are other issues that were “addressed” years ago still on the shelf without
solutions? Why does site admin insist on following through with inconsistent
changes that have proven themselves to be wildly unpopular? (Apart from the four
Yes-men lurking in the catalog)

Where is the Rust solution? Where is the Light Pink solution?

What was the point of merging 44302 and 54657? The other hinge bricks/plates?

All of the element numbers are gone and now it’s going to be harder to find the
specific variant.

They are all here. They have to be added manually after the merge has run its
course. Because of a bug in the PCC upload process, it can be really tedious
to add many of these at once, so I break up the process a bit to keep my sanity:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp?itemType=P&itemNo=44302&v=2

If you spot some that are missing, please file a request to add them. Same thing
with any alternate part numbers. I am adding all original numbers as alternate
numbers so there shouldn't be any trouble with people finding things.

And for the other comments in this thread with concerns that the project is being
executed in a careless or haphazard way, I am working line by line through a
spreadsheet that was prepared and proofread weeks ago. Nothing has been merged
by mistake, and nothing will be.

Sometimes I will do things out of order, or leave a section partially done. This
is because of time (and I am quite behind on the project already) and because
of some technical limitations of the merge feature. There are several "big"
parts where I will need help from a developer to complete the merge without jeopardizing
site performance.

Why were the grooved variants merged?

Because they were on the list from the beginning:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2629

The reason they got on the list is because they are not classified as cosmetic
variants or typical grooved parts. The groove became apparent when the teeth
on the hinges was being examined, and the grooves were distinguished for the
same reason as the teeth. But when we remove the reason for recognizing the teeth,
we also remove the reason for recognizing the groove.

Hello All!

I have been using Bricklink for years, but never made an account until a week
or two ago! I love lego a lot, but need some help!

I have been an avid lego toy story collector for the past few years, but need
some help knowing fake lego from real. Regarding part 90192, is there any way
to identify if it's real lego or not? I am talking about Twitch's antenna.
As he is quite pricy, and I am missing an antenna for my twitch, but I am worried
I might get a fake one when I find it. As I've said before, is there a way
to tell if it's official lego?

(I've attached an image of the Twitch himself)

Sorry, must be the Elon Musk Beyonce Xbox Live Diet Weight Loss Keto Friendly
24-Hour Fast Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies I've been taking recently

It's not common at all for a seller to take 7+ days to ship (or respond). It takes 30 seconds to respond to an email.

Of course it isn't common, but it happens; I don't think it's right,
but my gripe is the fact the buyer jumped right to an NSS when they haven't
read the store terms to know how the store(s) operate; it's also not right
that the messages have gone unanswered, but also happens for a variety of reasons
- which might be listed in the store terms that were skipped over

Way to (hopefully not)scare off a new user.

BOO!

They didn't "jump right to an NSS" though. At all.

the complete change from super serious scolding of a new user to a "look
how funny I am I really didn't mean what I said after all
" tells
me everything I need to know. Have a good night.

44302a and 44302b were isolated because one has a groove and one doesn't,
and nothing with grooves was supposed to be merged.

This is definitely a catastrophe for and a big middle finger to all of the contributors
who did all of the work separating out those variants over the years. What an
absolute nightmare.

Yet they forgot to merge 44301 and 44302…

This seemed like the appropriate thing to do.

It isn't, not when it's only been 7 days; this isn't Amazon, a lot
of sellers do this as a side hobby and can't prioritize getting orders out
the next day (even Amazon sometimes takes 5 days to ship)

No I didn't go digging around in any store policies.

So you made an account, placed orders, ignored terms and conditions that you
agree to (it shows store terms while you go through the checkout process) but
somehow knew enough to immediately file an NSS?

That doesn't seem fair at all; have you also checked your spam folder in
your email to see if they replied directly?

I'm not saying Bricklink is perfect when it comes to sellers, there are some
that just don't care, but they are few and far between; I just think that
jumping the gun to an NSS without even reading the store terms is pretty drastic

I don't claim to be the perfect buyer and I certainly make mistakes.

If this situation is normal (no contact after repeated attempts for this seller)
then they should have somewhere in the check out process in flashing red letters
in 100 pt font that this may take more than 1 week after packed status, to actually
ship. Fine I'd accept that and not place my order.

If the seller doesn't like what I've done then ship my order already.
Because I'm going to paypal/my credit card company in a couple days to get
my money back.

The part they have for sale is hard to obtain in any condition in any country
at any price. If they don't want to ship, I need to jump on the only other
seller that still has them. I just don't wanna double order something.

While I appreciate the advice to check my spam/junk folder, this site does have
a functioning messaging system which I've used and it works just fine. Perhaps
all sellers aren't aware of this? I did send my messages to the seller through
this site. So I shouldn't be missing any messages.

your expectations are completely reasonable. People saying that they aren't
are covering for their own lackluster service.

Would you mind checking the 4-digit number printed on one of the two seals? That's

Just my thoughts, but a) was the price a steal, if so possibly a scam or it might
be a b) drop shipper?

I don't know the answer, sorry.

This catalog project was a rushed and stupid idea.

Merging parts did not move element numbers over because the merging process doesn’t
come with that built into it. Was that something that site admin considered before
this bright idea? Nope. Why bother ensuring a smooth transition when you can
carry on without a plan in mind? After all, that seems to be par for site administration.

Listening to community complaints? A waste of time.
Improving site functionality? A bigger waste of time.
Considering that a project of this scale would undermine years of progress and
effort from your catalog administrators and community members? An even bigger
waste of time.

Then, catalog administrators and community members have to clean the mess up.

I also believe sellers have the ability to shut off their store if they are going
to be away for awhile?

Yep, they can close there store if they are away.

All of the element numbers are gone and now it’s going to be harder to find the

This catalog project was a rushed and stupid idea.

Merging parts did not move element numbers over because the merging process doesn’t
come with that built into it. Was that something that site admin considered before
this bright idea? Nope. Why bother ensuring a smooth transition when you can
carry on without a plan in mind? After all, that seems to be par for site administration.

Listening to community complaints? A waste of time.
Improving site functionality? A bigger waste of time.
Considering that a project of this scale would undermine years of progress and

Because they are functionally the exact same part....
The only difference was the number of teeth on the hinge.

I my experience the more teeth the more weight a arm will hold

With the variant with less teeth in the position with no teeth in the middle
of the hinge part, it is weaker.

If you don’t get what I’m saying I can give pics.

Because a few care, but 1+ million of the others absolutely don't.

A good part of those 1+ million don’t care about the site at all, they wouldn’t
even care if people started selling fake LEGO here!

But versions do work exactly the same.

Generally, but not always(eg. if you are lighting a M.O.C. you NEED the the variant
with the hole so you can run wires!

  Very sorry.

Ya ya, we know you are for the change.

That’s understable: 8 orders, 8 times mostly the same blah, a lifetime of being
shown EULAs and other unreadable, verbose (and leonine) terms, you may be tempted
to skip a few.

somehow knew enough to immediately file an NSS?

When you get 7/8 orders quickly, the eighth being late and silent makes you panic
and you can quickly find what to do in case of a problem with an order.

An adult would require something like a full inch (2.54cm) tube to breath.

Even if we're talking about a small child, I don't think that tiny "vented"
Minifigure Head holes would help in anything.

In short, I'd say it's Urban Legend.

Maybe it started with
[p=3062b]
?

If you put one in your mouth and (accidentally) suck, there’s way fewer chances
to swallow it than the full stud variant.

Now, the question is: If it’s true for round bricks or heads, why do 1x1 bricks
still have a full stud?  (The square shape doesn’t make them harder to swallow
or to block your baby’s windpipe.) Or for other parts?  There’s several modern
parts with about the same size and no hole, no vent in the stud, like

Part No: 85975 Name: Cone 1 1/6 x 1 1/6 x 2/3 (Fez)
*
85975 Cone 1 1/6 x 1 1/6 x 2/3 (Fez)
Parts: Cone

(No baby was hurt during the procedure.)

(Reviving this only now because I kept forgetting to do it before.)

BTW, I think the venting (open, blocked, or vented) is to prevent a suction effect.
The air is chased when you put the brick/head on a stud/neck, and poof, that
makes a void and you get the Magdeburg hemispheres.
Well… not to the point you’ll need horses to fail to separate them but enough
to make it too hard for a 7-year-old.

No need for a vent in square bricks because there’s room for the air to circulate
around the stud.
No need for a vent in 86975 because the stud is held by struts, not by a cylinder.

Sorry my screen shots aren't the best.

Will this do?

Yeah, that would probably work. I just think it'd be an interesting (and
useful) set to own if it was ever produced.

Don’t get me wrong I would love that to be a set, but it won’t happen.

Sad but true. It just wouldn't be that big of a money maker since it appeals
only to a certain group of people.

Yeah, only true LEGO fans would buy it, others wouldn’t see the point.

Again sad but true.

Not a builder or user of LEGO myself, never have been even as a kid. But would
appreciate such a set, and yes would buy it, just because I enjoy and really
appreciate colors.

I would buy this!

“Orange 3001* sticker*” would find all orange 3001 parts that have a sticker

Could you make a tutorial on your channel some time on how to use brickognize?

I can’t seem to figure it out.

Step 1 go to website. Step 2 upload/take picture. Step 3 see results.

It works! And absolutely wonderfully too!

Never going back to my old way of searching now.

We all have solutions to how we ID parts. I'm not going to lie or Sugar coat
this.

Not only should this be a MANDATORY set but, with some Tweaking Every time a
grouping of colors gets added they give an updated Page(Parts) with the new colors
to insert. (SOLD)

I just keep throwing money at the screen and NOTHING is happening.

Considering what I use is a IKEA Picture Frame behind glass to do my 2x4 bricks
colors. I like this IDEAS model better.

I think it's interesting that in Europe, patches are more akin to what we
would consider "tags" here in the USA. In the USA patches typically have
stitched borders and often have plastic backing.

“Orange 3001* sticker*” would find all orange 3001 parts that have a sticker
or stickers but brickognize is usually the fastest option

Could you make a tutorial on your channel some time on how to use brickognize?

I can’t seem to figure it out.

Step 1 go to website. Step 2 upload/take picture. Step 3 see results.

It can be quite complex...

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou
Take out the Holy Pin then
Shalt thou count to three no more no less
Three shalt be the number thou shalt count
And the number of
The counting shall be three four
Shalt thou not count
Nor either count thou two
Excepting that thou then proceed to
Three five is right out
Once the number three, being the third
Number, be reached, then
Lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of
Antioch towards thy foe, who, being
Naughty in My sight, shall snuff it"

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

Turn camera on
Open Brickognize

Put one part
Check the focus
Try to align it properly a bit
Click on some button
Get the recognition result(s)

What video do you need?

It was the Big Beak:

But it shouldn't have been entered as a minifigure when it was originally

First type in the part name or number, then look for details on the sticker such

I see, I see, that would actually make a lot more sense since the early sales

in the next couple of days for the several in my inventory that do not have them.

That would be awesome. Thank you!

P.S. Please make sure the dimensions are in centimeters.

  HI Bricklink Team

Please can you either do the catalogue changes or not - I am listing a load of
printed tiles and some have the b and some don't. this is infuriating and
is meaning it is taking me longer to list than before.

I thought the changes were there to simplify matters. so far its the opposite
in every way plus we have a worse catalogue.

Also - and I fully admit I haven't been at my best the last few weeks due
to illness, but I thought we were getting an email with the parts in our inventory
it was affecting. Did I miss this ?

Cheers
Dave

It might be an idea to just list them all under one entry with comments stating
they could be either variant inline with Bricklinks scheduled merge!

I can't imagine neither Bricklink or your customers will hold you accountable
at this stage in the change process besides you'd be giving your customers
fair warning anyway

a new version of right wedge 41747 appeared (but not for the left one)

Part No: 41747 Name: Wedge 6 x 2 Right

41747 Wedge 6 x 2 Right
Parts: Wedge

The new part 5711 at the front in the comparison photo has no supports on the
inner sides like the older part has (at the back we can see the old version for
the left wedge)

Thansk Mauro

New left shell has part number 5830.

What was the point of introducing a new mold for a perfectly fine part?

As far as I know, the old version should be cheaper to produce. It has thinner
walls, with the "supports" being there to increase the thickness where
necessary in order to still make contact with studs.

I find it strange that they made a separate ID for this change though; although
they did introduce 3556, basically 3001 with thick walls and no middle supports...
which I guess is also identical to an older edition of 3001 :/ Different times,
different qualifiers for what's a new mold?

As a general trend, they also seem to have moved a lot of parts from 5-digit
IDs to 4-digit recently without any significant changes?

I think it is related to the new material they are using to produce the parts
recently.

Ok, thanks. It was because they were marked as part number 6223

6223 is an alternate ID for 3003:

Part No: 3003 Name: Brick 2 x 2
*
3003 Brick 2 x 2
Parts: Brick

   - do I list them
under the normal 3003s even though they have no supports?

That’s what I would do… but I’m not a seller

3003 is the generic / umbrella entry anyway.  3003old is for when you’re sure
the part is an old one, from an old set.

OK, I'll do that - I checked 6223 was the alternative number for 3003. I
always log blue, red, yellow and light grey with no supports as 3003old.

Thanks again

  Hi

I've just finished sorting a joblot of old(ish) LEGO from a recent bulk purchase
(contains space police and other sets from the early 90s).

I noticed that all the 2x2 bricks in trans blue, green and red have no inner
supports but these colours are not listed as known colours for this variant.
I've had plenty of those with the supports but don't remember coming
across this variant before.
I'm assuming these are fairly common but what sets do they come from?

Hi,

Modern transparent bricks are listed as modern bricks (3001, 3002, 3003) even
though they don’t have cross/inside supports.

Hi Sylvain

Ok, thanks. It was because they were marked as part number 6223 - do I list them
under the normal 3003s even though they have no supports?

Thanks

7 days is quite early for a NSS. Did the store terms say anything about processing
and shipping times?

I just opened the account. I placed 8 orders the same day. All of them went
to packed status in 24 hours and shipped a day after. With this seller I messaged
the last 3 of 7 days to ask when it might ship with no response. This seemed
like the appropriate thing to do. No I didn't go digging around in any store

Name of sticker sheets includes the set number from which they originated.

It seems I made a decision to approve these changes too quickly. We need to look
more into the situation regarding these stickers and their implications before
making a decision about accepting them in the inventory.

I have therefore removed the stickers from the inventory again. I apologize for
the inconvenience.

Part No: 41747 Name: Wedge 6 x 2 Right

I got Bricklink mail that the order is paid and the 'Payment status'

The is no money in my Paypal account.
The seller wants me to cancel the order, because there is something wrong with
the payment. Not telling me what.

What is happening with such a payment and what is the smart thing to do?
- Cancel a paid order myself. (is it possible?)
- Let the buyer cancel this order. (is it possible?)
- File an NPB. (is it possible?)

Anybody has good advice for me? Never had this before.

Maybe an E-check. The buyer should cancel the payment on his side.
Then you can cancel the order. Or cancel the order by using the NPB process if
you want to be protected against any feedback. The buyer can choose the option
to cancel and accept the penalty.

Prices for letters up again in April.

Justification : costs and less mail.

My guess is that part of the reason for less mail is, you guessed it, the fact
that the price keeps going up.

Well that's the thing as the Royal Mail keep saying their processing system
is only really designed for high volumes and that todays lower volumes make the
processing of letters unviable but judging by the recent Panorama program (Well
worth a catch up if you missed it) I would say it appears more to do with their
overall neglection and discouragement of Letters due to them becoming so fixated
with the higher profitability that comes with shipping parcels. The burden/commitment
of processing high volumes of letters appears to be a thorn in their side when
it comes to wanting to scale the more profitable parcel side of the business.

The unfair part is that many people are unknowingly paying extra for 1st class
Letter service yet many of these letters are more often than not getting processed
at exactly the same time scale as 2nd class in fact worse still most letters
in general are being held back in order to give priority to increased parcel
volumes with my posties advising me not to even bother wasting my money sending
1st class.

It's already looking likely that there will soon only be one Letter and one
Large Letter service with 1st/2nd essentially being merged into one!

I've recently started adding inventory using BrickStore. I deal in used brick's
so most are sorted by part type.

My adding process is to take a bag, count each color quantity, find part in add
item menu, add all the color's from the known tab ( sorted by hue ) double
clicking them so it just adds 1 of every color, then on the main screen I add
all the quantity's. Seems pretty straight forward. But the process of adding
color's after adding a few thousand started to pop out as a repetitive process
that could and should be avoided.

If there was a way to open a file in brick store of any particular part type
with a preset number of piece's like 99, with all the known color's,
that would make it so much easier. I would just add in quantity of colors that
I have, filter by quantity, and all those that are not 99, I mass upload to BL.
And avoid manually adding color's to every singe part. This would speed up
the process significantly.

i always duplicate, then set color and add the quantity

I hope I am not overstepping by reporting this.

Also I would be interested to learn if there is any way to find out how the different
variants were used.

I'm working on this from the present, moving back. It will take some time
to check all 385 Mini Doll Legs, if Dual Molded or not. It will take even
more time for the parts like this

Part No: 92252c00pb001 Name: Mini Doll Hips and Skirt, Light Nougat Legs and Bright Pink Shoes Pattern - Thick Hinge
*
92252c00pb001 Mini Doll Hips and Skirt, Light Nougat Legs and Bright Pink Shoes Pattern - Thick Hinge
Parts: Mini Doll, Legs

because they appear in both variants: 'single molded' and 'dual molded'.
Which means the part has to be split and maybe even Minifigures. For that every
single set has to be checked.

Since we admins barely have spare time to dig into the past, this will most probably
not be fixed this year.

In timeline the Mini Doll Legs came
- first single molded (some still are), later dual molded
- first thick hinge (some still have), later thin hinge

The left one on your image is the oldest variant.
It's a Medium Lavender (single molded) part with printed Light Nougat Legs
and Bright Pink Shoes.

The right one is the newer variant.
It's a Medium Lavender Skirt with Molded Light Nougat Legs and Printed Bright
Pink Shoes.

After these came:

Part No: 35216ac00pb002 Name: Mini Doll Hips and Skirt with Molded Medium Tan Legs and Printed Magenta Sandals and White Socks Pattern - Thin Hinge
*
35216ac00pb002 Mini Doll Hips and Skirt with Molded Medium Tan Legs and Printed Magenta Sandals and White Socks Pattern - Thin Hinge
Parts: Mini Doll, Legs

I've added an inventory tracking tool to the web-portal that can be used
when you run BLS Manager or InSpaceSync locally or hosted. It tracks items added
or removed manually or from orders. The data can be exported to Excel including
lot data, segmented by day, week, month, quarter, or year. This will help you
track growth and rediscover what you uploaded 5 weeks ago.

BLS Manager can be downloaded from: https://inspacesoftware.com/blsmanager and
is free to use with InSpaceSync in ReadOnly mode. FullSync is a paid service.
