Please ignore /cancel my change requests to 10865 and 10895

I entered the wrong set number the first time and I made a error on the width
of 10895 details, regardless of that the details already submitted for 10895
correspond closely with the ones I entered.

FYI: they discarded my suggestion to show zip codes so I wouldn't get your
hopes up.

Bay. Being able to search nearby stores would be a fantastic option. It would
be an option to opt into, whereby a store must enable the feature to show up
in nearby store searches. This would allow stores to disable the feature in
case they are uncomfortable with the feature.

I think this is a great suggestion, Mike. Dynamic and pragmatic, with little
to no downside as proposed.

Reoccurring ideas such as this, come to mind when I receive orders with shipping
addresses not much further away from our home than our post office Receiving
orders with shipping addresses not far from my brother's home in Sweden,
also has brought this to mind.

I assume, given initiator of the site-suggestion has a IT background, it must
be doable?

I would add that eBay has had something like this in place, for some time now.
I've taken advantage of it a few times.

I am also very happy to see a listing like this added to the catalog! I know
it is against custom but very useful for buyers and sellers.

Cool idea, but difficult to implement. And there are privacy issues.

The Canadian zip code database runs over 760,000 records; most of them geolocate
to stationary moose, uninhabited parts of the Yukon, and what have you. I don't
recall exactly, but I think their process was to basically put a grid over the
entire land mass of the country, divide it up into little squares, and assign
a code to each square.

The US zip code database, covering a population several times that of Canada
runs only about 42,000 records and the codes cover arbitrary regions roughly
equivalent to towns, and some post offices that don't offer delivery have
their own code.

Typically these zip codes are associated with a longitude and latitude, and these
data files can be acquired from the post office and maybe other sources.

Then there is some math and code to figure out the "as-the-crow-flies" distance
between two zip codes' associated coordinates.

I don't know that the entire globe...or all the areas serviced by BL...have
these databases. Could be. Just never built one of these things other than US/Canada.

Anyway, bottom line is you need the longitude and latitude of every store...or
something reasonably close. The coding is a bit tricky. And it may have to be
broken into hemispheres because of the math for triangulation over a sphere.

If folks want to publish their longitudes and latitudes, then you can find the
distances with Google Earth or something similar. I'd guess most of the mom-and-pop-hobby-shop
operations aren't going to be enthusiastic about posting their residential
coordinates for the world to see, though.

on Bricklink for their minifig inventory.
That's why I'm posting a message here. I noticed that there are two entries
for Black Lightning on Bricklink : comcon056-1 for the full set and sh521 for
the minifig. But these two entries are not linked one to another.
Could someone in the admin team link them?

Thanks a lot!

Is the minifig all there is in the set? It doesn't look like there are any
accessories.

If it is just the minifig, go to https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvAdd.asp?viewType=S

Under manual add, type comcon056 and then 1 in number of entries. Then hit "Go
to step 2".

On the next page, change the P to M under item type, type sh521 under item number,
0 under color ID, and 1 under quantity. Further down, set Source? to Sealed
Set Contents and hit Verify Items. On the next page click Add Inventory.

It is pretty easy, but I can't do it for you, because the person who does
it is attesting that they have the item and can verify its contents. So you
can do it.

Thanks very much, just did it!

Somebody have to submit inventories for them.
Inventories should be done by somebody who has those sets in hand. Because for
sets which were added recently to the catalog we only accept source of inventories
for sets form sealed set contents.
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=199
"Source - You should have a physical copy of the set you are inventorying
to properly identify the parts and colors. When this is not possible for old
or rare sets, then it is acceptable to use the instructions, set picture, or
parts list (sometimes printed on the box or in the instructions) to complete
the inventory. Inventories will only be accepted from sealed set contents
for the first year after the set was added to the catalog. If no inventory was
created during the first year, then any source may be used to create an inventory.
"
More information also here
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1105076

As I checked those sets are not yet one year old since addition to the catalog
to have inventories from different source than sealed set content unfortunately.

Tax time, a whole year later and this still hasn't been implemented.

Please BrickLink, this is crucial for filing sales taxes. Thanks!

How would you recommend selling a complete set of CMFs?

Personally, I would do what these other sellers have done and list the whole
set under the random entry. As long as you describe things clearly in your notes,
buyers will understand that they are paying for a whole set. This is one of those
areas where the average prices must be deduced from scanning listings or sold
listings instead of the calculated averages.

It is a shame that the site cannot do something and step in and help sellers
and buyers here, by realising what they need. Some people want to sell and buy
complete series. I thought the primary goal of bricklink was to enable sales
of LEGO, so adding a "complete series" for each CMF or similar series would work
well for those people. Does it really matter that they were never sold that way
by LEGO? If need be, this information could always be added as a note to a complete
series entry.

It's about time!

Here you go. Let's try it out.

Set No: 41775 Name: Character, Unikitty!, Series 1 (Complete Random Set of 1 Character)
*
41775-1 (Inv) Character, Unikitty!, Series 1 (Complete Random Set of 1 Character)

*
41775-2 (Inv) Character, Unikitty!, Series 1 (Complete Series of 12 Complete Character Sets)
12 Sets, 2018
Sets: Unikitty!: Unikitty! Series 1

Let me know if you think the random one needs a big question mark placed over
it. If people like this entry and use it, we'll go ahead and add the others.

Very good! I have one set listed under this new entry and will retain another
set as a superlot. The prices are the same--we'll see which one moves
first.

Isn't there a better way to reword these types of entries?

"Complete Random Set of 1 Minifigure"

This wording still seems confusing. Even if "Complete Set of 1 Random Minifigure"
it would make more sense. But I would think using "complete" makes it confusing
for the most part.

Personally, I would go for something along the lines of:

41775-1 Minifigure, Unikitty!, Series 1 (1 Random Set = 1 Random Character)

and

41775-2 Minifigure, Unikitty!, Series 1 (1 Complete Series of 12 Sets = 12 Characters)

However, I think the images chosen for these are fine and show what is needed.

Hi Russell,

Thanks for responding and doing something about it so quickly!

However, it might be better tested on a new series and possibly a more traditional
/ popular one too, so could it also be done for TLM2 series once it comes out.

There is an alternate version of tubing. Instead of light grey tubing, there
is a version with trans clear tubing. As proof, I found pictures in the store
of WE Bricks. He sells two new and sealed 8837. One of the comes with grey tubing,
the other with alternate trans clear tubing.

Let me know if you think the random one needs a big question mark placed over
it. If people like this entry and use it, we'll go ahead and add the others.

Hooray!!!!

Please add the Series 17 and DFB!

I have both for sale currently!

Tyson.

Hi! I bought an 8421 recently, and in bag number 8 there was the cord "4276327"
(=x77ac500) (see pictures). That's different from the database here, which
states x77cc250.

Do you guys know of any such toot(s)/ways to do so or I am asking for the moon?

Thanks in advance!

I believe rebrickable is just for that!
Exactly what I needed, thanks for pointing me in the right direction brikomania!

Hello,

I recently purchased the "SDCC2018-2: Black Lightning" set. I then went on Brickset
to add it to my collection, but no minifig is listed for the set. I proceeded
to send them a message so they could fix this error, but they told me they rely
on Bricklink for their minifig inventory.
That's why I'm posting a message here. I noticed that there are two entries
for Black Lightning on Bricklink : comcon056-1 for the full set and sh521 for
the minifig. But these two entries are not linked one to another.
Could someone in the admin team link them?

Thanks a lot!

The crocodile consists of 4 parts and doesn't come assembled (at least not
in set 60157 which I just parted out). So isn't the correct way to include
the four parts in the inventories and the complete assembly as a counterpart
for all sets in the above list?

/Jan

You are correct. The pieces that come in the set should be included in the inventory
with the complete animal in the counterparts.

I'd love to fix this, but your response contradicts what two other admins
say in this thread. I'll let you all agree before I do anything.

/Jan

My response doesn't matter if the admins contradict it. But you will see
that Russell didn't exactly contradict me. He said they belong there, but
they just can't go there for the moment.

But just because the part-out system doesn't work like some people want to,
I don't see that as a reason not to make the inventories consistent. That
work can already be done now, and I have even offered to do it.

/Jan

For what it's worth, I agree with you and was totally unaware of the part
out thing being an issue. But I'm not the one you need to convince.

This is also correct, 2 taps for to extinguishers, thank you. I have added additional
photos showing both, where they are built in the instructions and where they
are placed in the model.

Sets: Town: Classic Town: Airport

* Change {3 to 4} Part Yellow 3062b Brick, Round 1 x 1 Open Stud

Comments from Submitter:
4 are clearly required for the set, 2 are used in the fire extinguishers and 2 for the water cannons. See photo from back of box the shows 2 fire extinguishers and two alternate builds that require 4 of this part.

Hi

and add also 1x yellow tap

Part No: 4599a Name: Tap 1 x 1 with Hole in Nozzle End
*
4599a Tap 1 x 1 with Hole in Nozzle End
Parts: Tap

Peeron has also 4x 3062b and 2x 4599a
http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/6440-1

my count: the MF (driver) use the tap/round brick inside and airtanks inside
the other minfig use the other tap/round brick with the axe (other axe still
on the truck)
