Anyone else having an issue where you input your address at checkout and pay
with paypal and paypal sends the seller a completely different address? I have
had this happen on 4 different orders. Paypal fixed it the first time and the
next order a whole different random address was sent to the seller. this is causing
issues for sellers who have a policy that is to only ship to the paypal address.
I have had 2 packages end up at a bank in CT. It only seems to be happening when
I order things through bricklink.

I believe I made the wrong choice to set up a PayPal Business account rather
than a personal one. I set it up some years back with the plan to use it to market
family legos and such. I have used it for purchases for the last few years, but
never kept a balance. Now that I am (finally) selling, PayPal is wanting me to
submit business related documents that in my case (just reselling one-owner personal
items) just don't exist. If I don't plan to make this an ongoing thing
is there a workaround for the verification process (to avoid disruptions in my
store) or do I need to bite the bullet and set up a personal account and change
my store buying options?

Hi

I've had 2 buyers in the last few days report a problem when trying to make
onsite payment. They get an error message and told to 'return to merchant'
to arrange payment. One buyer also said he'd had similar problems with some
other stores, but not all.

I spoke to PayPal who said they can't see a problem at their end or my end,
anyone got any ideas or had a similar problems?

Regards

I don understand why we cannot at least have a fee free payment of selling fees.
Paypal charges almost 5% just to hand over the payment in a risk less trade,
at least from me i Norway. Please provide an other option.

Whilst onsite payment is very good for payment methods it accepts, it does have
the issue regarding having all of the payment processed immediately.

Would it be possible to develop and implement a method whereby the payment for
the order and the payment for the shipping costs be split up?

This is for larger orders, and I believe this could be done through BrickLink's
PayPal Onsite method, an extra step to allow the seller time to compute and input
the shipping costs properly is what I'm concerned about.

This is basically a delayed payment for the shipping costs. It would help costs
from being incorrectly calculated. Not all items in the BrickLink catalog have
a weight, and something needs to be added to allow proper determination of shipping
costs, in my opinion.

There are features currently available that can help with this although PayPal
Onsite being an "instant" checkout option is not always the best option.
I'm not suggesting tax should be evaded, a simple and legitimate amount of
time for determination of the shipping costs by the seller is all that I'm
asking be implemented.

While this may seem like a suggestion the first step is to figure out if it can
be a suggestion.

What do the admins think? Can it be implemented? If not, why not?

Cheers ...

Hey everyone, I am a rather new seller and I ship worldwide. I have had orders
to the US via PayPal and Stripe and was hit with extremely high fees every time.
I have been searching for an exact percentage number for ages now but I literally
cannot find any information on how high these fees actually are. Are they 3%?
5%?. I know I can calculate them but I find it extremely weird that BrickLink
has "Partner" Fees and as a Seller I am not able to know how high these
actually are. Maybe I am just blind and can't find them but even in that
case it would mean they are very hidden...
Thanks for the help in advance!

Does anyone understand the PayPal fee structure tiers? Are US sellers stuck with
3.49% + $0.49 because we use onsite payments or do any other other options apply
as well? I see QR code for 1.90% + $0.10 or standard credit card processing for
2.99% + $0.49.

Hello,

requesting help here, I have a customer who would like to use paypal purchase
options which may not be showing up on the onsite paypal payment.

SO if that customer chooses manual invoice, and then then i invoice through bricklink,
can I make an invoice then through paypal directly and still integrate with Bricklink
for their tax collection or whatever?

Is this a bad idea? I never want to break TOS or circumvent BL.

Thank you very much for any advice.

Hello everyone,
I need your help please.
I want to send a payment (I charged too much postage) to a buyer.
But when I send USD$2.70 by paypal will charge me total of USD$3.88.
I sent USD$2.70 per payment using the family & friends option but the buyer was
charged USD$0.40.
What can I do please to send USD$2.70 without me or buyer being charged?
I appreciate your help.
Kind regards

As I saw Bricklink process my invoice for a customer, I saw that Paypal's

that how it should be? It seems to me that shipping cost should not be taxable.

Hi, I am a new seller, I just found out my only option for receiving payment
is through paypal, but I can't seem to find an option for adding a % for
paying through paypal. (I don't want to lose another 3%, so would like the
buyer to pay this.)

Or do I add this % as a shipping and handling fee?

I have successfully opened a Stripe account.
And I have connected it to my BL account.
My shop is set up for onsite payments, but Invoice Only no IC.

But I cannot find a way to modify my invoices to allow for Stripe Payments.

BL does not allow sellers to modify the
PAYMENTTYPE or
PAYMENTINSTRUCTIONS macro tags, as far as I can see.

Also, I cannot view these details.

So, that brings me to these questions:

1. Is Stripe available for Invoiced Orders?
2. Do buyers get to choose which payment method to use or only shown the Paypal
option?

3. If a buyer DOES choose Stripe, how do I invoice for that?
4. Will BL automatically give both payment options to buyers on the invoice
using the PAY Button?

5. If the answers are negative for the previous questions, does that mean Stripe
is only available for Instant Checkout?

Thank You for any Helpful Answers.

Hi admin,

Can Revolut be added to the dropdown list of accepted offsite payment options
please?
Loads listed already such as American Express, IBAN, Paymate etc, but getting
more frequent requests to accept payment option Revolut.
I can accept this and using this for some time with all kinds of pleasure but
it is not known to customers at check out, hence their choice for PayPal or others.

Thanks,

Hi,I wondered if anyone way experiencing problems with making or receiving paypal
payments on Bricklink this week? I have tried to place 2 orders this week and
although all payments for previous orders have gone smoothly for some reason
this week payment is not being taken. Both times my paypal account has said payment
pending as has the order status on the here, but for some reason it has not gone
through and when I go to look the payment has disappeared from paypal. The sellers
have kindly tried resending the invoices and even cancelling the order so I can
start again, but no luck. I know the problem is not with my paypal account as
I have been using regulary through the week on other sites, and had no problems.
I have used it to pay for other orders on here too, with success, it's just
this week it won't work. I'd be grateful for any ideas or advice. Could
there be a setting I've accidentally changed? Thanks

We have an order that has been paid but pending for 8 days now - longer than
a e-check usually takes to clear. When we contacted the seller, they checked
Paypal and saw that they'd be charged once I complete the order. There were
a couple other posts I found on the forum from this month with similar phrasing.
The buyer has over 400 feedback with 100% positive; between that, the fact that
they waited for us to point out the delay, and the other posts that seem similar,
I see no reason to think this is some sort of scam.

On my end, Paypal simply says "order received" and lists the buyer's name,
a transaction ID, and the amount. There is also a link to upgrade to a business
account. I'm wondering if Paypal expects me to "upgrade" before completing
that order? Any idea what other options I have? I have no interest in getting
a business account.

Hey all,
just had a weird thing happen with an order: A guy ordered a minifigure, and
selected manual checkout. I got an order confirmation via email, but then immediately
afterwards also a copy of the invoice. That shouldn't have happened - because
with manual checkout I have to manually finish the the order and send the invoice,
right? (Rhetorical question: Yes, I do, I've done it before, the system was
working so far.)
On the invoice it does have all the fees that should be there in the instant
checkout option, but not with manual checkout.
Then the customer sent a request to cancel, which I accepted. And now the cancelled
order shows instant checkout was selected - which it wasn't, I have the order
confirmation in my inbox that says manual checkout was selected.
What is going on here?
Cheers,
Patrick

I'm trying to add extra (offline) payment methods to my store which has been
established since April of this year, and over 180 orders so far.

I cant seem to find any way to do this as all I can see are the two on-site options
via PayPal and Stripe.

Any tips on how to get extra payment methods set up? I have raised a ticket with
Bricklink, but that has gone unanswered for a while.

Thanks

Hi all

I've been a seller on Bricklink for a long time and I've always used
Paypal offsite. It doesn't seem to have put buyers off, though I have had
the odd question from them asking where the pay button is!

I'm adding a lot more stock now, including parting out some sets, and I don't
want to put potential buyers off. Please let me know if you think I should switch
to Paypal onsite or stay offsite or if it makes no difference at all.

Also, if you think I should switch to Paypal onsite are there any downsides to
consider, as it seems Bricklink take control of aspects of payment?

Cheers

Hi

When paying through paypal Onsite, choosing to pay in the original invoice currency,
(e.g. HUF, PLN, EUR) the transaction is finally denied by paypal.
"Leider konnte Ihre Bank Ihre x- nicht bestätigen. Wählen Sie eine andere Zahlungsquelle."
Paypal claiming, that my Bank could not "confirm" my registered and long used
credit card...

I always choose to pay in sellers invoice currency, for obvious reasons, and
my credit card definitely can handle this. I have a paypal account.

Things tested and working:
* bricklink Onsite payment, logged in to paypal, but letting paypal do the conversion
and charge me in the credit cards currency. Transaction is completed successfully.
although with a bad exchange rate for me.
* bricklink external paypal (when offered), logged in to paypal, choosing to
pay in sellers currency. -- That's the proof that paypal CAN DO IT with
my credit card. It's DEFINITELY not my bank's problem!

As there seem to be more and more shops only offering Onsite payment, is the
denial to let me pay in sellers currency another paypal scam? Anybody knows more
about my problem with Onsite and original currency?

Regards, Leo

So this is something that always intrigued me and came back now as very relevant.
I selected PayPal OnSite as payment method. I have more than enough in my PayPal
wallet to pay for my order, but I can't select that option?

I'd rather not deal with credit card limits and those things if I have the
money in my PayPal account. I couldn't find anything about it anywhere. Isn't
that an option? And if not, why?

Hi guys,

I've received my first cash back from Stripe and was wondering what your
experiences were with that.
A customer ordered a Star Wars Millenium Falcon UCS with automated check out.
Payment received by stripe. We have some communication back and forth both by
direct mail and Bricklink Mail. He orders also a UCS AT-AT in a second order,
also payment by Stripe.

The orders were correctly delivered last week although he hasn't changed
the delivery status on the Bricklink Order.
Now, today I received a cashback request from his bank for the first order. I'm
alarmed but thinking he might be confused, so I contact him directly. This time
the mail account is closed.

Stripe offers support in how to reply to the cashback in order to convince the
bank that it isn't a fraud. Luckily, I'm well documented. However, the
money will be withdrawn from my account and the bank can take up to 3 months
to review my evidence before deciding.

Of course, I'm aware of scammers on the open marketplaces, but I always thought
this platform was a well protected one. Star Wars UCS sets are not cheap as you
know. I'm wondering what your experiences are with this sort of things and
if Bricklink itself offers any support on this.

Thanks for your comments.

Enabling offsite payment methods (like bank transfer or IBAN) should be avaialbe
(after meeting mentioned criteria, like 3 months, 10 positive feedbakcs etc.)
without the need of contating support team.

I've raised a ticked [0FC-2A3E4D02-0017] about a week ago and so far there
is no feedback. I reviewed similiar cases here on forum and it seems like normal
time of actioning or responing is 3-5 weeks. I had the same awaiting time for
'New Seller Verification' process some time ago and... man this is frustrating

Hi everyone,

I would like to offer my customers payment via IBAN.

I have the first ticket (239-2A18BFD6-0004) on May 25th, 2022
created on Help Desk.

The second ticket (1A8-2A2A2131-0017) with a touch of irony on 06/01/2022.

Seriously, I've already lost a few customers because they don't have
PayPal.

I really understand that there is a lot to do.
But almost 3 weeks (so far) is just too long.

I don't use it often, but I have used instant transfer in the past, and PayPal
has indicated that they are raising the fees to 1.75% with a minimum of fee of
$0.25 and a max fee of $25 for personal accounts and 1.5% with a minimum fee
of $0.50 and no maximum for business accounts.

https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/upcoming-policies-full

I didn't see anything in there effecting receiving money, but I just glanced
at it between packing orders.

Anyone else see anything that may impact our stores or our customers?

Hey

I wonder if someone else have problems with Paypal.

I am a new seller on BrickLinks and just a couple weeks ago started to take orders
from other EU countries. When I got my first order and payment by paypal, it
almost locked my paypal account. I had to deliver alot of information to them
to get my money.

- A picture of my ID
- A copy of the invoice
- A picture of the Lego I sold
- A copy of the receipt of the payment of delivery
- A copy of receipt/invoice where i purchased my lego
- And I had to explain for them why I sold Lego
(I think there was something more I had to provide to them)

Ok after this i could finally transfer the money to my bank account.

The second payment worked just fine

The third payment was placed on hold (reserved money) for 21 days. They told
me to give them the tracknumber of package and what service I used. Didnt work,
money is still on hold.

The fourth payment is again on hold.

Does anyone else have these problems with PayPal? has anyone solved all and actually
have Paypal workin just fine?

I need advice

Hi all,
I set up a Stripe account and a buyer made a purchase using the Stripe payment
method - no issues, I received payment confirmation and the order was sent. A
few days after, Stripe emailed stating payouts are paused on my account for the
following reason:

"We noticed that you're selling popular branded goods and/or copyrighted
content in your store. We're writing to request documentation that you're
authorized to sell these products. Unfortunately, we need to pause payouts to
your bank account until we can verify this".

I contacted Stripe support, and received the following advice during the chat
support:

"To be in line with our Terms of Service (Service Agreement) we need any sellers
of branded items like Marvel, Disney, Nintendo, designer brands, etc to provide
us with documented proof from those brands to sell their goods."

I immediately cancelled Stripe as a store payment option, have refunded the buyer
in full and arranged alternative payment. I have no intention of providing Stripe
any such information, but just wondering how other sellers have dealt with this
in the past?

Thanks for any insight!

Hello Bricklink members,
I am a Bricklink member (only as buyer) since 2013. This month I started as a
seller too. I have a feedback rating of 470. As a starting seller the only the
paying option I have to offer is Paypal onsite. I would like to offer other possibilities
like IBAN and bank transfer too. Last week I send an email with a request to
Bricklink but didn't receive an answer jet. Can anybody tell me wat it takes
to get these extra options? How long do I have to be a seller or how many transactions
or positive feedbacks do I have to have?

It's probably a topic that has been raised on a number of occassions already,
but it's still a topic nevertheless.

Where a seller can add multiple payment methods, Stripe is only shown to the
buyer as Credit/Debit card, while they offer many other payment options, such
as iDeal, Sofort, Giropay, Przelewy24, Bankgiro etc.
Selecting Credit/Debit card is using Stripe, but doesn't show the different
options.

It would be nice if the customer could see the name of their preferred payment
method.

One suggestion would be to add stripe a second time, with the option for the
buyer to provide some information on that payment method.

Hi All! I'm logging my sales and just noticed an abnormally high Paypal
fee of 5.6%, seeming to coincide with an international/foreign currency fee.
Ultimately, the few cents on this transaction won't make much of a difference,
but thought it was strange that this would have happened and can happen again.

I've included my payments set up. I'm only accepting USD, only shipping
to US (not pictured), but am allowing international purchases based on the screenshot.
Will those international purchases, even if USD, get the higher fee?

Thanks in advance!

I thought bricklink had started using onsite payment for all sellers.
I remember reading a thread, where a seller's buyers were getting messages
indicating he did not ship to that country, and the fix was to turn on onsite
payment.

I filled a cart, and went to check out, and saw that postage had been calculated.
The postage calculation was such that I did have to remove stuff from my cart
to meet the package size required for checkout. With everything so tediously
calculated, I fully expected auto-checkout. But instead it said I would get
an invoice. At that point I was fine with it, as long as the invoice would show
the same (or very close to the same) total cost. Then I get the invoice, and
the shipping cost is the same. So I look for the link to pay the invoice, but
it isn't on the invoice. Instead there are instructions telling me to use
paypal and to use the Paypal as friend option.

Both Stripe and PayPal offer a variety of funding sources for payments. Each
site that implements Stripe/PayPal can enable the ones they feel are best suited.
Pretty much all sites enable credit/debit cards.

Stripe calls these "bank redirects" (e.g. IDEAL, giropay, Sofort, etc).

An alternate site that some of us sell on, supports many of the EU bank redirects.
A seller would then elect to receive payments using those.

Does BrickLink support any of the payment funding sources other than credit/debit
cards (on Stripe or PayPal) ?

I receive plenty of regular PayPal payments and I am fine with paying the fees.
However, I have a buyer who is offering to use the “Friends and Family” option
(or whatever PayPal calls it these days) in return for a shipping discount. If
I agree, will he actually be able to select that option using the on-site PayPal
link? Is there a limit on payments of this type? (It’s just on the high side
of $1000.)

TIA,
Dave

Hello all, hopefully someone can help me out.
Hopefully this is in the right place.
I am new and setting up my bricklink store, I would like to manually invoice
anyone who buys from me, just until I can work out all the postage costs that
I would have.

Another question is how do I go about allowing cash payments on pick up for local
buyers as I have been selling individual pieces on facebook market place (people
send me their list of parts and I check if I have them and get back to them with
a cost) or is this not allowed?

Hey all,
I would like to offer a manual checkout option for customers, but it doesn't
seem to be working - I have a prospective buyer (domestic, from Austria) that
says he does not have the option.
The shipping method is enabled, I set two domestic weight bands (0-1800 and 1800-31500),
no discounts, charges or restrictions, and it does show up in my shipping methods
list.
Any idea what I might have done wrong?
Thanks,
Patrick

I am asking for the activation of the payment method by bank transfer, the customer
asks for such an option, and so do I, I run the store for more than three months
and I have more than ten positive sales. I print for the consideration of the
case, greetings.

Paypal is reversing my orders on Bricklink and giving me refunds. In the description
for why it says that their Paypal team have detected something in their system
that makes them question if my Bricklink orders are legit. This only happens
via Bricklink, and didnt affect me on here in the past, although I haven't
ordered on here in a few months.

Hello,

I'm still in my first year as a seller, I could use any help on this issue.

Have a buyer who used instant checkout, they want to add items to the order
after, I asked them to use manual invoice on a separate order so that i may adjust
the shipping price down for the second order, ship both in one box.

Buyer is unable to choose anything but instant checkout though, they say.
I can't do a test because I can't "buy" from myself to figure out how
he gets a manual invoice.

Please help me. thank you BLers

Hello! Wondering if any seller has been charged on Paypal a "Partner Fee", separate
from their usual Fee? I can't seem to find any topic help on Paypal's
website for this. It is also separate from the Bricklink fee.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Quick question: I remember in the past, sellers were able to change the payment
status manually if a payment came through in a different way than the buyer originally
selected. However, this seems to be no longer the case.

I have an order (from mid-December) where the buyer selected Paypal Onsite as
the payment method, but they ended up paying directly via Paypal (at least I
think this is what happened). Because BL didn't recognize the payment coming
through, the Payment Status column still shows as "None", and I can't change
it. This also means that I can't show the item as shipped, and I can't
file the order away either.

I was able to add the tracking number, the order has been delivered, BL fees
have been charged, so there are no issues on any of those fronts. However, because
I can't change any of the settings, it seems like my only option is to wait
six months until the order naturally falls off my dashboard.

Is there a way I can mark this order as paid and shipped, and file the order
away?

Thanks for any help with this, and Happy New Year!
