of?

Lepin was well known for having the Lego stamped studs...its been a few years
but there was a huge statement about this up on a certain auction site about
the counterfeits having the lego print on certain parts. The HP Castle and their
knock-off of the Executor were two prominent offenders. Often they were even
being listed in "Lego" box art.

I never saw Lupin or any other brand that produces Lego like material using
the Lego logo.
So, in my opinion if it has Lego in or on the studs it truly is Lego. I have
no doubts about this part from looking at the picture.

The more detailed images look less like Lepin...they have the proper shape in
the hollow studs and the plastic is not as translucent or sketchy. It might actually
be a legit piece.

I don't know what it would go for but it's not counterfeit.

Would it be possible to send this to one of the LEGO Customer Service representatives
so that they can tell one way or another?

If done discreetly and through channels, we all could benefit from knowing for
sure if this is genuine or not.

Cheers ...

  Hi all.

Just spent some time doing my least favourite task: Adding wheels and wheel assemblies
to inventory....

I have always liked the option to use assemblies where it makes sense to do so.
One example is where a specific tire and wheel combo only exists as one exact
example or one color combination. There are very few of those, I think.

After spending time identifying wheels and tires, it can save you a ton of headaches
in the future if you LABEL THEM with the part numbers.

How are you supposed to LABEL tires from a used lot you haven't identified
yet?

Would I list it as a custom lot or under the actual part listing?

id probably lean to custom lot so it doesn't mess with the price guide if/when
it sells

True, custom it is.

I was thinking of throwing it out but for now I’ll hang onto it until I can be
100% certain

I don't wanna burst your bubble but that is counterfeit. I have seen them
come up a lot in my unsorted lots. They are LEPIN used in their rip off of some
of the Harry Potter sets. If you check I doubt you will find part numbers on
the bottom but they will probably still have a logo but it will likely be rounded
off or smoother. They are likely still printing them from stolen molds that
were supposed to have been destroyed. Another give away is the color mixing of
Bley and Tan which was common of their HP knock offs. I find this a lot in lots
of bulk parts I buy on auctions. Another common version has Red and Dark-Red
marbling also usually with worn logos but no part numbers.

Oh well worth the shot though. Thanks for helping.

This link is good too:

The first one is the one I was looking for. THANK YOU!!!

Its great because when printed on a standard printer page you can just lay the
tire on the picture for size and width comparison. I added several of the 'additional
notes' from the catalog entry to the pictures as well to identify variants.

I highly recommend this chart for every person identifying tires.

Glad you found a copy! I really need to update that guide for everyone. It's
out of date.

Haven't been able to find it since. Would love to print (and save this
time) as mine is getting a little worn out.

It's hard to buy your sets when your store is closed.
