| Hi Jonas,
I myself have wondered about this part in our BrickLink inventories for several
years. Confusion seems to have come from images that did not show the differences
clearly enough.
In Inventories, Turez writes:
| Hello everybody,
before I (maybe) do some proper requests, I'd like to clarify the following
issue regarding part 2739a/2739b in black.
Set 8110 came with 2739b in August 2011. That is correct: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5134871
In November 2011, 2739a was added as alternate. That is correct, too: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5256458
According to the catalog, five sets from 2012-2014 still had 2739b. I think that's
wrong because...
- I tried to find images or videos showing 2739b, but didn't find a single
one.
- All those sets were inventoried by the same person and always with Source:
Parts List.
- The following sets from 2012 and 2013 have 2739a as regular and these sets
were inventoried with Source: Sealed Set Contents.
Images of new sets with 2739a:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5886402
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6026821
Summary: I think 2739b never appeared in any set from 2012 and later, so I suggest
to delete it from the inventories of 9398, 9396, 9393, 42005 and 42021.

Is there a way back on Bricksync?
If you had a solution to this problem, I would be extremely grateful.

Yes, use a backup.
Close bricksync, move a good backup to the data folder and name it bricksync.inventory.bsx
(you can add a .bak to the old one). Open bricksync and type sync.
Do not run bricksync when your bricklink store is closed. Bricksync doesn't
just malfunction, something was done wrong, just try to find out what happened
and learn from it for the future. It's a great program just takes some time
to get used to. Always know you have backups upon backups if an issue arises.
It takes a backup before making any changes.
The author is also amazing if you run into an issue as well.

Have a look at a couple of your recent Bricksync backups in the data folder,
you should be able to use one to roll back your inventory.

I managed to pick up one of these sets today, and I remember seeing an article
on-line about how this would combine the playability of the LEGO parts with the
Japanese love of working with paper, so I snaffled it.
Now, looking through the contents, I note that the original submitter did NOT
include the paper sheets, nor is there a picture of the instruction sheet/booklet
Would it really be in the interests of the catalogue to include this via the
inventory?
|
Yes, very much so. The inventory would include the original paper sheets as they
came in the set. These would need to be added to the Paper category of the Parts
catalog. Any cut-out paper designs could also be added to the Paper category
of the Parts catalog, but these items would end up in the Counterparts section
of the set inventory.
| There are extra elements as well, which I will add shortly
|
Fantastic.
| I'm just concerned about the paper elements.
There are 8 different designs to be built, and the first design had been cut
out (badly), and, to my surprise, a purposely made hole puncher had been made
for use with this line, but wasn't included, so an ordinary one had been
used, which shows, as the holes are not in the right places....
Can the Cat admin(s) chime in over this?
Thanks in advance!

LEGO has not produced a basketball element since 2006, so I assume that it is
easier/less expensive to simply recolour an existing piece than to make a new,
single-purpose, mould (or to revive the old one).

No, the Have is not about the inventory but after applying an order to a Wantlist.
To search your My inventory click on the extended search options and select Items
on my Wantlist click. Then you can manually adjust the quantities of the Wantlist.

Brickset (= more or less LEGO) agrees with BrickLink to reach 273 pieces in total,
so, unless another part is wrong, it looks correct.

Those movment were I think due to parts count on box which shows 273 part. So
current parts count in inventory match.
|
Sealed set contents that I have found show that the set indeed came with five
of the part, since all three of the main models on the front cover were able
to be made at the same time. Those three models require five of the part. Therefore,
the inventory is correct. However, I will add a note that the instruction manual
has a mistake in the parts list.

Maybe because this is the way the bricklink catalog works? For me it is logical
to have one entry for one part (which means for me: one mould with one specific
sticker or imprint) with different base colours. It is similar to, for example,
the levers with bases:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=24
There is one entry for all black levers with different coloured bases, one entry
for all grey levers ... and so on.
Of course it would be possible to use different entries. Or to list them according
to the base colours. It was just decieded not to do so.

I see what you mean here, but to me that should be different part numbers based
on the fact that the colour of the tiles (in this case) are different. The same
pattern with different colours get their own catalog number, why not when piece
colour is different as well?

The colours of the pattern are usually well described, but never the colour of

basic search on torso colour and then visually compare the patterns, since sometimes
it can be hard to figure out what specifics in the pattern has been included
in the description. (perhaps this is already possible but I haven't figured
it out yet )

A question for another part of the forum I guess, but thought I'd ask the
inventory experts first
Thanks again for the help!

| While looking up parts in a used parts lot, I found a couple of stickered round
tiles that aren't in the database. By checking the stickers sheets for sets
containing the tiles in question, I found a match in set 41068 Arendelle Castle
Celebration. And comparing the sticker sheet with the inventory list for the
set, you can see that there are more pieces missing under "Counter parts". Unfortunately
I only have one of them, sticker number 13 that goes on reddish brown 2x2 round
tiles (part 14769).
First time I encounter this problem so I have no idea about how to add it. Thought
I'd leave it to the professionals Just let me know what more I can contribute
with.

Is this trans-clear part: really part of Because I have
one of this bricks but with the Backboard pattern on both sides.
It would make sense to me to have it on both sides in this set since it is designed
to play against each other and otherwise one would have to aim at a blank board.
Anyway I think the inventory should be updated and a new part be added or at
least a note added to the brick and the set that it comes in different versions.

If you add the new part to the catalog, we can get the inventories straightened
out.

Item No: 3422-2

Item No: 3420-2
The same as inventoried.
Looking at the counterparts (minifigs) of 3422-2 - their stickers are different

| Going through some old sealed CMF pouches and identifying them by feel (I'm
100% other than the DFB soccer players), and I believe I've found a Rogue
from series 16 with 2 heads and no headgear:
This is easy to find:
as is this:
But I'm feeling 2 heads and no cowl.
I've felt countless CMF packets and this is the first mispack that I'm
certain I've found. Has anyone else found mis-packed CMF packets and if so,
how often?
And the ultimate question, of course, is there a market for this unopened?
Thanks!

It's one of those persistent problems that Bricklink is trying to fix. I
think something is really wrong in the bug fixing department, it seems their
ability to isolate a problem and target it effectively with a fix is really compromised.
Previously there was an issue with remark fields being deleted and it also took
a very long time and was also "fixed" in an "ok this time it really seems to
work but if you have problems let us know" way.
Several people have reported this issue. Hope for you guys they will do something
about it.

It is called by some 'spaghetti code' and they are far too busy with
getting XP off the drawing board (and it is nearly 2 months overdue (according
to Admin-Russell's suggestion of a March release.
Forecasting the release of new products is always difficult to be exact but ........
The Future of Bricklink as MP called it at Brickworld seems to be taking an eternity
(and we plan to opt out of it anyway, as will many others we are informed.
They are about to release a product which requires a feature that only 20% of
the total stores use - that isn't the best base for acceptance and if they
honestly believe that XP will convince the non IC users to move to it - their
crystal ball must be a bit murky.
Why not fix bugs - there are too many to go into here with a dedicated programmer
and focus the other developers on the new features, especially the ones that
are massively overdue (Sellers tools with what the stores want, please) e.g.
inventory management, sales metrics, query by form, improved printing capabilities,
updated price guide, major improvements to the store front and search capabilities.
Drop the API and provide tools that all members can use without having to be
a programmer.
NB - Why isn't your ID Pic amongst the ones in
