For smaller stickers - I use 4x6 Photo Albums books - they only hold 24 stickers
in each book, but I seem to always find them on clearance. I usually take the
shelf box they are displayed in, which can hold 8-10 books in a very compact
space. My naming convention is very basic; "Book 01 pg 01" etc.

For larger stickers - I use 8.5x11 sheet protectors stored in fancy keepsake
boxes that were given to me (each is only 3 in high, so not taking up very much
space) - "Box 01" etc.

I tried using notebooks, but it is just as easy to flip through the sheet protectors.

I'm sure there are many other ideas, that is just what works for me.

Hi, I am going to start selling Lego pieces. I'm not sure how to print the
shipping label, Is that done through the shipping software, i.e. Ship station
or pirateship? Do you need to insert lables into your printer or do you need
a separate label printer? Thanks in advance for your help.

You print through the shipping software (I use pirate ship).

Any laser/inkjet printer can print on Avery labels (use 1/2 sheet labels or 4x6)
or I guess you can just tape the paper label to the package.
If you have a laser printer, I would not purchase a label printer until you are
shipping multiple orders a day. If you are using an ink jet printer, I would
purchase a label printer on day 1 (the cost per page is high with inkjet).

People will recommend various label printers, my experiences;
Dymo 4xl - my first label printer (replaced 2 times under warranty) - don't
buy
Zebra LP2844 - cheap (ebay) and reliable - mine is from 2001 - and it still works
great (changed print head once)
Zebra ZD420 - personal favorite (have 2) - wifi, bluetooth - finicky to setup
- workhorse and very fast
The Zebra printers can use generic labels, so the cost per page is very cheap.

That would be a very short sighted approach since if the printing is being carried
out by Lego themselves then there should be no reason not to embrace them by
listing as a custom Item.

Any suspicious print designs can be verified checked with what is officially
available on the Lego site. Unofficial print designs are likely to be centered
around attempting to replicate designs from popular characters/themes and so
shouldn't be hard to spot anyway!

The sheer number of variations for these minifigures is probably the reason they
are not included in the catalog. There are over 500,000 possible variations in
this program - before you factor in the custom labels that can be printed on
the torso.

Not sure about selling them as a custom item. Who would verify that they were
officially produced by Lego?

I have a sales tax number which means I do NOT have to pay taxes on product for
resale.

I know this varies by state, but in Florida, retail stores do not have to accept
a Resale Certificate - therefore they charge sales tax.

I do not think we should also have to pay tax when we buy internationally as
well.

Marketplaces (Ebay, BrickLink, etc) are required to collect STATE sales tax based
on the destination. In your case you are paying Minnesota Sales Tax.

As stated before Bricklink is suppose to fix this. They have not.

I agree that BrickLink stated they would implement a Resale Certificate Program
- and have no idea why it is taking so long.

The cheaper option is to use Sterilite 3 drawers (2073,2075,2093, or 1791).

One of my storage racks (on wheels) using Serilite 2705 - 84 on each side.

A different idea would be to have different qualifications for parts sellers
versus set sellers (and to some degree minifigure sellers).

Part sellers can be vetted using the current system - no issue.

Want to sell minifigures over a certain total value (or quantity) - increase
the vetting requirements (time or value sold limits).

Want to sell sets - even higher verification required - proof of ownership?

There are many different solutions to fight a fraud problem - BrickLink/Lego
can use their data to implement the best option.

Though from BrickLink/Lego's perspective the current method probably works
fine; limited number of individuals are scammed, BL is not on the hook for the
stolen value, and there is a very small reputational risk.

I voted yes, not because this is the best solution, but there needs to be some
solution. If buyers don't trust the marketplace, eventually sales decline.

BrickLink needs a high enough bar to limit scammers, but low enough to allow
legitimate new sellers. The current bar is way too low.

Maybe, a staggered sales limit for new stores (Ebay model); month 1 limit sales
to $250, then month 2 to $350, etc. BrickLink has the data to optimize the sales
limits.

If you can delay the amount of time scammers need to wait for their payday, you
limit the number of scammers. Additionally, any that are using fraudulent Bank
Accounts/PayPal/Credit Cards will probably be discovered within 3 months. Basically,
let the Trust and Security Departments of large financial institutions weed out
the bad actors.

  impact sealer

As a buyer, I find the impact sealed bags a hassle to open. Probably not in your
case, but if sellers overfill the space the parts seem to shoot out everywhere
when I open the bag. I have also received minifigure parts where the bag was
divided into 4 squares - did a good job of protecting the parts, but I hated
opening them.

As a seller, I have an impact sealer that I use with recycled Lego bags. I only
use it when the single part quantity is over the size of a quart size bag. Probably
97% of my parts go in zip lock bags.

Just my thoughts,
Joe

That feels much more on budget! How do you have the rest secured together?
Not just balanced, I guess.

Each storage unit is screwed to the plywood plate between the layers both top
and bottom. There is also a piece of electrical conduit running down the middle
that really ties the whole thing together.

I also built one that was 4 layers high, but it was too top heavy and really
wanted to tip over.

Is Ground Advantage’s weight limit still 15.9 ounces, as when it used to be First
Class? What’s the 2nd cheapest USPS mailing service?

Is everyone else surprised at the rates for Ground Advantage? I got a quote today
of over $5 for a couple of small tiles. I feel guilty charging that much but
I can’t afford to eat that cost. What’s working for you guys?

No.
Ground Advantage is the same price that First Class was. Weight and distance
(zone) makes a difference.

Are you getting you rates from USPS.com or the less expensive rates from PirateShip/Paypal/ShipStation.

You might want to spend some time researching the rates charged through the various
services.

It is rather unfortunate when certain individuals just continue to stir the pot
all the time, but the filter saves the blood pressure a little.

Thanks, I totally forgot you could block forum posts from individuals.

All is good, now.

Zebra...
I have 2 different 4x6 label printers (both bought cheap on Ebay);

LP2844 from 2001 originally used by UPS - has printed over 70,000 labels, with
no issues.

ZD420 wireless and Bluetooth, for the same price as the Rollo, but industrial
build quality.

I use cheap Amazon labels with no issue.

Do not buy a 4xl - if you print more than 10 labels a week, it might last a year.

I forgot to add that the Zebra's have cool options. One has a label cutter,
so the labels stack up in a box. The other has a peeler that takes the backing
paper off automagically, used for 1 label at a time.
