This set came out right during the time of the transition from blocked open stud
to hollow stud, so it is very likely that the set came with both at one point.
However, this information will all be moot when the catalog entries for the heads
get merged soon.

We would only split this catalog entry if the connection point you are talking
about is used as a legal building method in at least one official LEGO set. Unfortunately,
the catalog team does not have the time to look through all of the sets that
use this part. Therefore, if you can find an official set that uses this building
technique with part 2339, please let us know, otherwise the catalog entry will
remain as it is.

This part has a small propeller pin - this is clearly visible in the photo available
in the catalog, as well as attached below.

has three element numbers associated with it, which usually means that something
is changing. So, I went to see if this part had changed. Lo and behold, it had
(see image).
Therefore, the evidence for what sets had which version of the engine and which
version of the propeller are going to need much more evidence. All we know for
sure is that the engine clearly needs to be split into two versions and that
it is likely that a specific engine/propeller pair probably appeared in the same
set together.

Prior administrators would not let them be inventoried. The current team decided
to allow them to be inventoried later last year. All we are waiting for are good
images of the figures without all of the pieces that can come off easily. If
you would like to help with that, please do so.

Renders of items do not hold any proof, so packaging, instructions, and official
images do not always accurately show what comes in a set. And what came in the
original CMF was definitely

was a BaM part that was released years and years after the CMF.

between rounded bottom & pointed- are they significantly different?

The pointed bottom shield only came out on a torso assembly in 2002, so it would
have long internal ribs. If your part has short internal ribs, then it is the
rounded bottom shield version.

so the book is inventoried like all other books that did not contain a "set".

Then should not the “set” be removed from the catalog? After all it is technically
just a bag being used as a containment device for the parts.

The set entry should have a set number on the polybag somewhere, whereas the
original books just had the parts in a plain clear bag like other books.
|
As you can see from the picture, the bag is just the standard packaging bag with
NO set markings.

In that case I suppose it would be best to add the inventory of parts to the
book and add the set as an alternate to all the parts. But I don't know if
