is somewhat heavy toward the front and is difficult to balance on it's stand
because of that. The image below shows the stand type I currently use and an
alternate that I am attempting to design for it.

The black stand on the left is my current standard design. The red one on the
right is the alternate. The problem with the original stand design is that it
has too much flexibility in the column that supports the head. The model is too
wobbly when on the stand and can topple forward with the slightest touch.

I am thinking that I can make a sturdier stand, if I replace the technic connectors
with round 2 x 2 bricks. That should make for a stiffer support column that wouldn't
allow the model to wobble so much. The thing is with the current alternate design,
is that the model would be displayed level with the surface it is standing on.

I would like to have the model tilted upward at the front. Any ideas what I could
add at the top of the stand to give the model a slight upward tilt at it's
front?

seen in a long time, especially at a $20 price point. I’ve seen a few re-skins
of this set in Blacktron I, Futuron, and Space Police II liveries, but I haven’t
yet seen a classic space version. To that end, I made my own to show him what
things looked like back in Dad’s day. Now we have matching ships to go exploring.

Ironic, as I just got that same set earlier this month. I have mine set up on
a display stand.

To clarify for those that do not know where the "MK" is found (it took
me a little while to find it): The "MK" designation is on the sticker
sheet (though, "MKII" is also on the box for set 42009).

I know this does not say "MKI"; however, this does have "MK"
before the set number. Perhaps before they added roman numerals they just called
it "MK", but then when they decided to add roman numerals they put the
set number before the "MKII" and "MKIII".

Lego 42009 is designated MKII, and 42055 is designated MKIII, but I was wondering
what MKI is, if it even ever existed?

I just got a message from LEGO telling me my order was confirmed. And then another
that the items were 'Out of Stock'.

Are we going to get one of these every few weeks again like last time??

~Jen

The "program" page is showing that the fortress is about half gone, but
others all less than that so it shouldn't be reporting out of stock yet.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The sets are not actually out of stock. It's
just that the pre-orders on LEGO.com seem to automatically trigger the out of
stock default message. It basically says we've got your order, we don't
have your sets, we won't charge you until they ship, etc. etc.

It's just funny because a pre-order is not out of stock it's just not
IN stock yet. Also, for the last round of sets, we got these messages the entire
waiting period. I would've thought they might fix the message for this round.

~Jen

Yeah, there is a disclaimer about preorders in the email.

The direct links have been posted on a number of fan sites. I imagine many orders

The only way the fortress is that far along has to be because folks are going
over their 2 per household limit. There's no way it's filling up that
fast otherwise.

it redirects you to the lego website with the item in your cart.
This is the link to add the product to your cart.

I found it! Use these links to add them to your lego cart direct and bypass bricklinks
server down!
https://www.lego.com/cart?product=910029 = Mountain Fortress
https://www.lego.com/cart?product=910032 = Parisian Street

https://www.lego.com/cart?product=910030 = snack shack
https://www.lego.com/cart?product=910031 = general store - wild west

Worked Perfectly, thank you. We'll see if we get errors or cancellations
later. Hopefully not.

Shouldn't get any problems. I got my order to work on bricklink and it pops
up a small window that has a cancel button and a button to add the item to your
cart that redirects you to Lego.com. So I copied the link directly from that
button.

Now that the site is halfway working again, I believe you are correct - the links
look the same from what you copied and what the briklink link shows. I think
they'll go through fine. Thanks again!

Yes, this was my experience also. I was able to click on 2 different sets, ignored

The BDP page finally loaded for me. Looks like the Mountain Fortress is at 50%.
All the others looked to be between 20-30%.

That's what you get when you don't hire smart people to program this.
Bricklink + programming = disaster. Not only now, always.

It's almost definitely a server bandwidth issue and not a programming one.

That's what you get when you don't hire smart people to program this.
Bricklink + programming = disaster. Not only now, always.

You like blank screens? Here's one, captured a minute ago.

I'm not sure which item you are trying to buy but the mountain fortress is
this if you want to add it to your cart. https://www.lego.com/cart?product=910029

It works now! I just snagged my order

things looked like back in Dad’s day. Now we have matching ships to go exploring.

That is so cool! Thanks for the post.

Awesome!

My younger son is fond of the M-tron theme (his first name starts with M) so
we built an M-tron version of one of the 10497 alt builds

Looks great! Re-skins are fun little side projects. One of my favorites was
from this guy. He not only revived the various space themes, but also had fun
with some town themes.
