| Hi all,
I'm new here and was just wondering if there are people on this forum who
would design a lego set for a fee?
If so please sent me a private message.

I think there’s no digital instructions available for the first program, ADP
(https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/past/adp.page ).

Hi,
I’d say: Go with what you prefer

I may be getting too deep into changing out HDRI files in the render folder and
stylizing the renderings. (I like rendering and creating scenes because it is
almost like I am playing with the set). Is the preference to keep the renderings
simple? For example, which rendered image below is better for model presentation?
(The one with the orange hint is using the default "building" light domain
while the one with the blacker blacks and shinier bricks is a homebrew.)

| Hi, thank you for your reply.
I have thoroughly checked everything again, and I was on the edge of going crazy
when I realised what was the mistake I made and where.
I tried over and over again and for like the 100th time I saw that until now
I always moved the minifigure's arms by releasing the torsos first. And THIS
is a mistake . Once I released the torso all the parts included in it appeared
on the right side list as unavailable within the given palette. Meanwhile if
I move them without releasing them first they will be OK. So all my issues originated
from this.
|
Indeed, it’s better to use the Posing tool for the minifigs (and the 1x4 plate
hinge…): https://studiohelp.bricklink.com/hc/en-us/articles/6502749986967-Posing-minifigs-and-other-special-parts
| As for the LEGO News, now that must have been some sort of glitch or similar,
as once I deleted the part completely and re-added it from the list it was fine.
|
Maybe you had it in the wrong colour? (It can be easy to recolour a part.)
| So now I am error free and cannot wait the middle of May!
|
Happy to help

Hi,

There’s more info on the dedicated forum: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewforum.php?f=13

Yes.
| My question is that as there are no printed parts in this palette (eg. the Lego
News 2x2 tile),
|
There ARE printed parts, and the 2x2 “The LEGO News” newspaper is in it.
A lot of decorated torsos are there too.
| I have 'Decorated Bricks On',

Are you sure?
https://studiohelp.bricklink.com/hc/en-us/articles/8117942037911-Missing-parts
| but still, even if I choose
a torso from there it is listed as unavailable within the selected palette once
inserted.
|
Which torsos exactly?
Also, don’t confuse “marked as unvailable within the selected palette” and the
yellow “!” / “unaivalable on BL.”
I haven’t checked all the torsos but it sometimes happens that some parts are
in the BDP palette but not “known” = not in an inventory on BrickLink yet = without
colours or prices.

| Hi everyone,
I was trying to find some information on this, but I wasn't able to find
anything, hence my question.
So I am preparing my first submission for the next round of the BLDP, and I am
aware that I should use the most recent palette (5).
My question is that as there are no printed parts in this palette (eg. the Lego
News 2x2 tile), can we still use these or are these also a no-go? Also I have
some minifigures in the set idea, but none of the torsos are included in the
palette. Can we still submit these ideas as is (while including these printed
parts), or do we have to only use very generic and one coloured torsos in our
submissions? Looking at the winners of the previous BLDPs I can see they used
printed torsos etc, but I cannot find out how to only filter to those available
in the palette. I have 'Decorated Bricks On', but still, even if I choose
a torso from there it is listed as unavailable within the selected palette once
inserted.
I hope this makes sense. Thanks for your help in advance!
Regards,
Zsofia

There is no chance for licensed themes to be done without the IP holder's
agreement.

| It appears that over the last few rounds of BDP, the designs picked all seem
to be around the themes of Medieval (inc. castles), Trains and the Seaside, sometimes
with an overlap (Medieval by the Seaside). These are beautiful but are becoming
repetitive.
Is it possible to have offerings from other themes, maybe branded themes like
Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc? I wonder what everyone else's thoughts are?

And also... those prices are in euro, so... are they the european prices? If
yes, for which country. Cause the VAT can differ also per Country. Like Germany-Slovakia
have (I think) 1% difference in VAT.

They should be the original RRPs and the Euro price we show is the German price.

Well, the ADP and BDP Invitational sets aren’t for sale any more. Their current
prices are second market prices.
I think Brickset may have the initial prices (under “RRP” / retail recommended
prices).

And the prices are different, notably because EU prices include VAT while US
prices are without Sales taxes.

| LEGO knows there is demand for Castle which is why we have gotten sets like the
Lion Knights Castle and the (soon to be released) Medieval Market set. LEGO also
sees that the demand for Castle is generally comming from AFOLs and adults who
want detailed sets with lots of cool parts and not from kids or others looking
for the sets you get in a typical Castle theme.
Plus LEGO already has (in their eyes at least) themes such as Harry Potter that
fill the spot in their lineup where a full non-licensed Castle theme might go.
