Hello,

I have had a lego set (Lord of the Rings Tower of Orthanc 10237-1) on sale for
a couple months now, but its just not selling....

I am thinking of cutting the pirce down to around 300 euro (now it is 350 euro),
but Im not sure if it's too low for the value of the set...

The set isn't complete and is missing quite a lot of items (no tree beard,
no minifigs and accessories, no eagle ,no Original box, no instructions, no Palantir,
no "3068bpb0661", no "33009pb045" ).

I am asking for help to find a good price for this set so that it will sell.
or any other tips to make this set more appealing.

Thanks for any tips or support!

If i read and review the missing parts correctly then you are missing around
400-500 euro in value of the missing parts/minigiures/box/instructions and maybe
even stickersheet or stickered parts.

This means no collector would buy just the tower (which basically is values in
parts) and try to complete it (even the shipping costs would add up). Maybe it's
the same reason you are not making it complete yourself?

For somebody looking to make money on this, i also see no reason.

I would value just the tower (2.000 parts?) at € 100 - € 150.
Personally i myself would not even consider this lot at any price.
Anyway I'm sure other people would think otherwise but that is just my view.

good luck with the tower.

greetings, Jeroen.

Hello Jeroen,
I was afraid that that would be the answer I would get....
But I do fully agree with you.
Thank you for confirming my suspension.
And thank you for taking the time to write that.
Take care

Someone who just wants the tower for display might pay 150-175 tops I would say.
So I’d recommend 50% off what you’re trying to get. Sometimes sets just don’t
sell for no apparent reason too. I’ve had a complete set listed as the cheapest
in the world and it sat over 2 years while others sold that were more expensive.

I think I know the set you're referring to, and all but one of those sales
was less than yours. I think in this particular instance people are willing
to hold out. Just a hunch really.

As for the OP, with all the stuff that is missing, I think you basically have
an assembly of relatively common black bricks. The 150 price suggestion from
others seems pretty fair.

Not sure how you’d know what set I meant when I sold it several years ago…

My bad, assumed you meant the cheapest one in the world you had at the moment.

Theres a sold for $200 on ebay for the tower and 1 fig and an eagle. So I think
everyones estimate of about $150 is probably close.

I have now unlisted the set form my store.
I understand now that this is not worth much of anything.
I have decided to just keep this set in my own collection.
Sorry for misunderstanding the meaning of a Set.

You could break the parts from the tower, and list them as used parts. You would
have to deconstruct the tower and list the used parts in your store. This is
for when you need the space and want the remainder of the set gone.

That would solve your problem. It's obviously not worth much anymore as a
set. I'd recommend listing as parts, someone will likely buy most of them.

Cheers ...
