So I'm in the process of cancelling an order as the seller and I'm just
wondering/have forgotten, if I need to refund the cost of the order before or
after I cancel the order?

Before - I don't think you can cancel an order in Paid status

Of course.

It'd be easy to "cancel" for something alredy paid

OP: refund THEN cancel. This is OK.
