I'll admit I have not make a lot of orders via bricklink, but the ones I
have ordered were shipped at most 2 days after placing the order. A current order
has been sitting at "paid" status for a week now, with no explanation.
I did send the seller a mail Saturday night, but so far no response.

Is this unusual? I can understand if, say, a family emergency came up & they
haven't been filling any orders, but it sure would be nice to have an update.
Or get my money back so I can buy from someone else.

Thanks for the tip. Looks like the store is a bit overwhelmed at the moment.
I'll be patient & keep an eye on their status.

"We have been completely swamped with orders and need to close the store
for a few days to catch up and get these orders shipped out. "

Couple of days' fine.

A week start to be worrying, but depending the shop it could be "normal".
If not for a professional, a one man shop, including possibilities of a life
incident...

Get your money back could be complicated and not so quick.

If no reply, you may start an Non Shipping Seller alert, it generally move people
(red banner in their main page).

In a general meaning, "pro" shops can be far more reliable in terms of
service (communication) and shipping. Stick to those if it's important for
you.
