| Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me out here.
I had an order come through early last month for a piece. It was damaged and
I did note that in the comments section for that piece, the buyer said they were
a bit too eager with ordering, I sent some pictures of the piece, it was too
damaged for them to use.
Since they had already paid via instant checkout I refunded the order for them.
They asked If I could cancel the order for them as it was still showing on their
end which I could not, I linked them to the cancel order help page (linked below)
and offered to help further if they liked.
I have now had an NSS filed against me from this person, they just want the order
removed from their list.
Will this affect my store negatively at all, and if so, how long for and is there
anything I can do about it?
page I linked to them: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=73&viewType=shop#:~:text=to%20the%20process.-,For%20Buyers%3A,option%20to%20file%20an%20OCR.

Respond to the NSS with proof of refund, that should clear it.
You should be able to update the payment status of the order and then cancel
it - you don't need the buyer to do that. But don't do that until the
NSS is resolved.

Thanks for that, I responded to it, until I get an email from an admin, or have
an email to send proof of refund, I won't and probably can't share proof,
but it is shown in the order.
Hopefully it all gets resolved soon and the customer is happy.

As the other response said, the trick is to refund, set payment status backward
to “not yet paid” and order to “ready” or earlier. Once this is done you can
do the OCR process to clear it out and then show as CANCELLED.
But also as advised, communicate and ask the buyer cancel the NSS so you can
cancel it for them, or follow the steps to get support to review and remove before
you do the OCR (if even possible while in NSS state).
