As you're in the US and there's tax collection, you need to pay via the
onsite Pay option. Have the seller refund what you sent them, and pay via BrickLink
onsite payment and it'll update for you

You don't. The instructions on your order confirmation told you to wait for
an invoice. The seller needs to add the shipping and handling charges and BrickLink
needs to add the sales taxes. Your seller will need to refund your payment and
it will need to be handled through BrickLink. And, be kind to your seller about
it because it will cost them a bit to send the refund.
BrickLink can be a bit different due to how complicated our marketplace is. You'll
