| Minifigure Air Tanks 3838 should have two mold variants. At some point
(I don't have an exact year), the mold was updated very slighty to widen
and re-shape the two openings at the bottom. With the newer variant, it's
possible to insert a standard bar partway in, whereas this couldn't easily
be done before and is something that has been noted on other sites. The top part
is a tad more defined as well. This is significant when trying to locate era-accurate
parts for older sets. As a buyer, I've come unstuck with this, and it's
essential to know what type I'm getting.

so what's this that is lingering in my unknown bucket...?
small bottom holes, no regulator on top...???
considering it a fake unless someone can verify

| To clarify, the parts I originally referred to are both genuine. Both have shown
up in original sets and have the regulator. Perhaps someone else would have more
success in narrowing down when the changeover occurred, likely sometime between
the late 2000's and early 2010's.
