| New LEGO enthusiast here, only started building within the last year. I don’t
have a ton of misc. pieces, but I have a few wishlists of some MOCs that I want
to build.. anyway, I want to know what the common courtesy in ordering is because
several of my wishlists have 1 or 2 of a piece. When I add them to the cart,
they are a new lot, some worth only a few cents. I realize that some shops have
lot limits, but some do not. Is it acceptable or is there a best practice, when
making large orders with many lots? For instance, should I try to make each lot
$1 or is it actually acceptable to order 1 or 2 parts per lot? For instance,
my most recent cart is 96 lots and 266 items, less than $30. Let me know your
thoughts, thank you!

| Although sellers generally don’t like high lot count low $ orders I wouldn’t
be to worried as if sellers want they can add a lot minimum value to their store
to prevent that.

I would also consider communicating with a store that has a bulk amount of your
want list and ask if maybe they have pieces you need like a 1 or 2 pieces in
the private collection. Not to bypass paying but in some cases you might even
find someone who would throw a nickle piece in as bonuses.
I had one buyer ask me cause even as a little store I had about 98% of everything
they needed for a model they were building. I had the pieces in my private stock
and since it was a nice sized order I didn't have an issue throwing it in
for free. Your Mileage may vary with whom you talk with but the worst they
can say is they don't have it.
Not to mention as a good buyer the best lesson you can learn is have good communication
with your seller.
Cheers
W

That's totally acceptable - 96 lots and 266 items, that is - at least in
my store. It's up to the seller to implement lot limits, minimum orders,
lot fees, etc.

If a seller doesn't have an average price per lot threshold, then it is fine
to order whatever you want. If they were bothered by it, they would have set
a limit.

| As everyone has replied, it is acceptable to purchase small lots.
But, if you would like to be extra nice, you could buy out the last remaining
piece of the lot listed. What I mean is if the seller has 5 parts in a lot,
and you only need 4 of them, you'll make the seller happy if you purchase
the fifth as well.

Yeh, you don’t want to break apart the only survivors of a bigger lot

Happy… or not, when they realize they miscounted and actually only have 4

Thanks everyone for the thoughtful replies. Just wanted to make sure I start
off on the right foot and have the best manners!

It depends on the seller. Some would rather you buy out the whole lot, while
others would prefer if you took only what you need and leave the remaining quantity
for other buyers. It also helps keep their lot count high.
Anyhow, it doesn't take much extra effort to count five parts instead of
four, but it's not much extra money, either.

+1 and then people like me dont mind either way if you want to buy them out
that's fine and if you want to only get what you need I'm just as fine
with that
