I am looking at buying a new MAC book. please help me with confirming that a
MAC book AIR would be good to use the design software. Or if the MAC book Pro
would be needed.

There seem to be some/many problems with MAC, especially recent versions.

Sincerely? If you wish to CAD with Studio, ANY Windows is the safest.
Otherwise read well on this Forum above.

It’s Sonoma 14.2 that broke inputs in Studio (or more properly Unity) a few days
ago

Well, there’s also some planned obsolescence going on with Macs (newer versions
of Studio won’t work on older versions of macOS).

“Safe” isn’t the word I’d have chosen

Oh, and to answer the question more directly: Air seems to be enough.

Also note that Studio is native for the Silicon M*… but not Eyesight (the renderer)
or the launcher, so Rosetta is needed.

Ah Windows and security holes... To me it's a kind of urban legend.

Problem is having so much users (a majority of Windows PCs), around 70% - and
many of them being 'base' users. I'm sure the problem would've
been *quite* the same if those users would've used Mac or Linux.

Security is educated users "Oh! Let me open this appealing e-mail attached
picture!", a good anti-virus, ports closed and firewall set up on box/router,
backup 3-2-1 or such, system updated, etc.

If you're using Windows having applied those, then you're mainly as safe
as on any other system.
