| I was used in have many sales in Nov. and Dec but not this year.
Are sales low for others?
If so, does it have to do with November 3rd incident?

Yes and no. Set sales seemed to be a bit slow this year, which I assume is normally
related to presents. Whereas parts sales seemed to be as good as previous years,
which I assume tend to be people buying for their own creations.
I imagine it is partly due to the economy and people cutting back on gifts this
year, partly due to sales/discounts at other large retailers, partly due to the
amount of stuff that LEGO pumps out these days and partly due to over-inflated
prices here (compared to RRPs on the huge number of similar current sets available
in stores) and partly due to the number of sellers here. And probably other stuff
too.

Hasbro ( Lego Parent Company) just laid off like 10% of their employeees worldwide
across all brands, including Lego due to lack of money coming in.
seems like an 'in-general' sales slump going on everywhere. our other
collectibles store has been slow as well..

They should have a basic LEGO knowledge test to become a seller here. Might keep

Good analogy as applied to their original post and the fundamental misunderstanding
of TLG therein.
That said and in all fairness, this seems to be in direct response to the statement
"Hasbro has absolutely nothing to do with LEGO" toontexas subsequently
made to him. In which case, the linked article is a well-targeted response.

yeah this article is a direct response to Toontexas , ... 'has absolutely
nothing to do with Lego' is incorrect.
initially it was my bad, thought Hasbro had bought Lego back around 2020 , so
i went to find the article i saw back then & figured out it was just a collaboration...
so i posted it to eat my Crow
i goofed the 'Parent Company' aspect simply from just reading only part
of a news article 3 years ago, & not caring about it too much back then

The LEGO Group may not be owned by Hasbro, but I agree that it's not necessarily
true to say that they have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
Apparently, the LEGO Group does have a parent company, a Danish investment management
company called KIRKBI: https://www.kirkbi.com/
But since KIRKBI is just a holding company with no real branding or products
of its own, the distinction between TLG and KIRKBI is rather arbitrary. For all
practical purposes, LEGO is an independent company.
You may also be confusing LEGO with BrickLink, which was purchased by LEGO around
2020.

That's pretty much true. BrickLink is just a small part of the LEGO Group's
overall business.
And it looks like KIRKBI also owns 47.5% of Merlin Entertainments, a British
entertainment company.
I guess these are just the Kristiansen family assets.

Their foundation, with Sidsel Marie Kristensen now at the helm. I believe she
was/is head of legal at Kirkbi A/S, or their General Counsel

Maybe it has to do with what country you are selling in? Our sales in parts have
been really good for the past few months.

Not here, better, but there are so many factors you can't control (political,
social...)
https://stats.inspacesync.com/
This for now indicates 278,000 orders for December, which would make it by far
the highest ever.
| If so, does it have to do with November 3rd incident?
|
There was 5 something days closed, which implied 5/30 less orders, approx -17%
orders this month. Probably a bit less because it was supposed to be a better
month - so maybe around -5% orders I'd say?

I haven't received many orders in November and December, but I don't
have much inventory, either.
I did receive an order a few days ago, so if anything sales are high for me.
If you're experiencing low sales, it could be due to the November 3rd incident,
or it could be due to other factors.
