Hello people,

I am checking a recently bought set and it has 2 fake lego parts.
Now I'm checking the blue pins, it has 3 versions in it.
I recon the left one is fake but I'm not sure.
Does anyone know?

Regards,

Sam

Which set did you get them out of?

Also where did you buy the set from?

It's from the set 8258 and I bought it on a Dutch site which you can compare
to eBay.

Is that not just referring to the recent redesign (center)? As far as I've
seen, they've always been the design on the right prior that, even back in
2007 when they switched from black to blue.

What we're the other fake parts you think you have received? As for these
pins, there is variety in them. But for the 2c each that they are worth, it is
probably easier to replace them with ones you know are LEGO if it bothers you.

I came across some knock-off technic a while back and it had those blue pins.
They are very close to genuine lego but I noticed they had a slight color/sheen
difference. I actually did not catch them until I noticed some liftarms were
off color, then I went and looked closer at all the technic from the lot. I wouldn't
be too harsh on the seller as I can see those getting by any seller of lego.

Yes, it is a clone brand part. The LEGO versions of the part never have the pin
slots line up with the slots in the main body of the part.

Cheers,
Randy

Thank you all for the clear replies.
There where 2 fake obvious lifting arms which caught my attention that is why
I looked closer.
I replaced them with genuine ones ofcourse but I was just curious if they where
indeed fake.

Regards,

Piet
