I am very small seller and have only been selling for a few months, so this may
be a dumb question.

Yesterday, I got my first request for a shipping quote on an kind of expensive,
Christmas themed set that has been in my inventory from the start. No problem,
I figured out the shipping charges and updated the quote per the help file.
Today, I get my second shipping quote request for the exact same item.
Different (apparent legit) customers, but the same set.

This just seems really weird to me. I suppose it could be a coincidence, but
I wanted to ask if there was anything I should be worried about here? And what
do I do if they both accept the quote? (I only have one listed and available
to sell)

TIA

At this time of year I guess people might be looking for Christmas sets. And
maybe you are (one of) the cheapest with that set?

If one of them buys it the other quote will be cancelled by the system because
you will no longer have the set in your inventory.

I've had this same kind of serendipity occur with random lots/items where
they have been in my inventory for a while and then all of a sudden they are
bought out in multiple orders by different buyers within the same day or so.

There's a multitude of reasons - in your case, it seems like the time of
the year/season. As far as items, I'd suspect a MOC gains popularity and
certain items hit high demand all of a sudden, or just random dumb luck that
two buyers need that same sort of item/set at the same time.

This 100% happens a lot I find (and especially for holiday themed items). You'll
find that sometimes the parts/sets that sit around the longest eventually end
up being the cheapest in your country/in general so you'll get more interest
all at once. Only one will be able to accept the quote as whoever accepts first
will trigger an order, and it'll automatically cancel the quote as the item
will be out of stock.
