I just read through an entire post related to this (one that no longer accepts
replies). A few minutes before reading that thread I placed an order where the
seller did not offer an option with tracking, that I saw. I did accept all of
the default options and didn't change any options from what the seller defaulted
to (including pay by paypal). When I saw that shipping did not offer tracking,
I looked at my total, and decided it was well within my risk limit especially
for a seller with thousands of feedback, high percent of positive, and mature
responses to the very few non positives.

The seller is in Belgium.
Postage was 8 Euro (low for an international order)

I am curious how much more shipping would be with tracking.

I am curious as to the usual difference in postage cost with tracking vs non
tracking from European countries to the US and within the US.

Depends the Country.

Here in our shop it's few for an envelope, for a parcel count double the
price to US (Delivengo, Colissimo)

In some other countries it can always be FAR more expensive.

All countries aren't used to track every shipment; more than half of my shipments
in France aren't tracked - they just arrive the same way.

From Ireland, a standard non-tracked shipping cost to the US of €8 would be €15
with tracking using An Post (Irish postal system). But generally the larger the
package, the less of a difference between non-tracked and tracked rates.
Of course, shipping costs can vary from store to store depending on how sellers
set up their pricing and what postal service they offer.
