| Hello Bricklink professionals
If I order bricks in the color dark gray from bricklink, I will receive the stones
as shown in the photo on the right.
When I look for the track sleeper (Part 767), it is sold as dark gray. Unfortunately
the color is not dark gray as shown in the picture on the left. I would call
it brownish gray.
I have some bricks and plates in this color and am looking for matching stones.
So what color should I choose to find brownish gray parts?

I keep certain parts known to have only been produced in only one shade - they
are very useful for comparing against parts whose color shade you are unsure
about.
Another big one is old light gray and dark bluish gray.
Because the chair was only produced in dark bluish grayThat is a good part to
hold on to, very useful in comparing shades of gray because you know the cha

The sleepers 767
were produced for 12 years, between 1980-91 and maybe up to 1994.
I have many of them and I had noticed their colors are not the same. TLG produced
them in different charges over the years. So you need to order many of them hoping
to find those that match with the bricks you want.

Ok my pieces are also from around 1980. And every single piece has the left color.
So my chance of finding suitable parts is extremely little. Sad ...

No, the parts you got (on the right) aren't Dark Grey, but Dark Bluish Gray.
So that seller (or sellers) have their inventory mixed up and you got the wrong
color.
Seeing no DG 4079 being sold in the last six months, they either did not come
from Bricklink, or your ordered teh wrong color.

If you wish to match the color of the track sleeper make sure you
add it to a wanted list as Dark Gray. Also note that a lot of the parts produced
today were not produced in the color Dark Gray.
Good Luck!
